- In this video, we delve into the controversial decision by Red Bull to instruct Sergio Perez to drive a damaged car during the Canadian Grand Prix, resulting in a grid penalty. We explore the strategic reasoning behind Red Bull's choice, aiming to protect Max Verstappen's lead by avoiding a safety car. The FIA's response, including a three-place grid drop for Perez and a €25,000 fine for Red Bull, has sparked significant debate.
Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko, draws a controversial comparison to Lewis Hamilton’s 2020 British Grand Prix incident, questioning the FIA's consistency. Additionally, F1 journalist Will Buxton offers a sharp critique, likening Red Bull’s tactics to the infamous Singapore 2008 race manipulation.
Join us as we break down the details, the FIA’s ruling, and the broader implications for the F1 championship. Is Red Bull bending the rules, or is this a masterstroke of strategy? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Let’s be fair, can anyone think of any previous penalties given last time a team gave an unsafe order to one car to manipulate a race event in favour of their other car? Just a food for thought exercise…
When Sergio crashed, he started driving immediately.
>Driving slowly on broken aero to the pits = NOT ALLOWED
>Driving agressively on broken aero/wing/floor to the finish line = ALLOWED
I was right there between T6 and T7 and saw it with my own eyes. This has nothing to do with Lewis puncture. His whole rear wing was wobbling all over the place. It should never have been driven back to the pits. On the other hand, punctures happen all the time, and drivers continue to the line or to the pits. It just happened recently with Sainz, Alonso, and Stroll and FIA have always been consistent and didn't punish them. Marko is just trying as usual to fabricate controversy. He deliberately chose Hamiltom from years ago because he knows Merc vs. RB gives the most drama. Tens of punctures have happened since and weren't punished for driving to the pits by the FIA. He just ignored them and went somehow straight to Lewis lol 😂
Except Lewis purposely avoided the pits just so he could cross the finish line
@@RobinRajan89 and why would he go to the pits when the finish line is right there? There absolutely no idiot who would do that. If you would do it, you might be even worse than an idiot.

Red Bull should never have called Perez back to the pits they should have parked the car for collection
