I love the pace and focus of this lesson. Super clear explanation. Super useful to see multiple camera angles on a BJJ instructional - and audio is actually clear and everything well lit. Will help my game, cheers. :)

Finally. A BJJ channel that gets that demonstrations are best done when participants wear contrasting colors. White on white is too hard to see.

I have a question. Why don't you take out their eyes. This is a combat situation isn't it?

BJJ is a combat sport, and eye gouging is against the rules. Also, practitioners spar full-contact in BJJ, and eye gouging isn't really something you can do during training.

@@SuperAkanoob Thanks I realize now it was a pretty dumb question.

@@monyafeek101 No worries, it's understandable. For example: a martial art like Krav Maga, which is designed purely for self-defense, would actually train things like attacks on the opponents eyes. It's a reasonable misconception if you aren't quite sure of the difference.

In side control, you are using both of your arms to keep your partner in place.
In order to eye gouge well, it makes sense to go into mount first. Attacking the eyes is no different from attacking anything else. It works better from a better position.
