I like the fact that Nascour has no boss music. It's like you're hearing what your avatar in the game is hearing. No happy, heroic music... Just the sounds of the world around you, and your Pokemon. It really adds to the tension, and kinda makes it more atmospheric.
You know, I just realized something that few people probably think of. Dusknoir WAS a good addition to the series... Because without it, Dusclops wouldn't be able to take advantage of Eviolite! Also, Dusknoir is a great character in a certain spin-off.

"get those tacos to every trainer who beats a colosseum! I don't care which taco it is so long as they get a taco! we must spread our tacos to all powerful trainers if Taco Bell is to be the ruler of the fast food industry!" I replace "Team Cipher" with "Taco Bell", and "world" with "fast food industry". I thought it would fit the theme.

I remember my first playthrough of this game, i used the master ball on metagross thinking nascour was the final boss... until that happened and then i failed to catch thew next one... and i was speechless about what happened after nascour...
CoolGamer4161 Actually, this is a bit of a nice Anti-Frustration Idea on the Developers side. Thinking that Nascour is the final battle, you will use the Master Ball on Metagross, which has a lower catch rate than Tyranitar.
To be honest, that wasn't that bad of a move. Metagross has a catch rate of 3, which is the same as most legendary Pokemon. Tyranitar's catch rate is like...60 I think? Anyway, it's much easier to catch than Metagross. I remember struggling tooth and nail trying to catch a Beldum once...
I kinda liked (when I first played it) that Nascour did not have a battle theme. When he first came out I was like "Final battle I'm going to turn the volume up to make it very intense." I thought he was going to be the final battle, but part of me did feel that maybe I shouldn't use my master ball, just in case.
I won't lie: Es Cade as Evice the true leader of Cipher...Was one of the (if not the) best twists of pokemon of all time: I mean When I first played Collosseum I NEVER guess that. Hell I like it more than Giovanni being the final gym leader or Blue being the champion. Yeah I said it, I really do think that. Especially when Giovanni was kinda spoiled in the instruction booklet and even a less than 10 year old me knew it was him.
Story time! I couldn't read very well when I first played FireRed. All I could decipher on my own was "The boss of Team Rocket is a big meanie". I was like three, alright? Anyway, it blew my mind when I found out he was the final Gym Leader, but after I won the gym battle, I didn't get why he vanished after giving me the badge. I thought that he was a ghost and, like with Cubone's mother, he went to the afterlife after the battle. I felt no reaction though, cuz I hadn't felt the weight of someone dying yet.

I think it meant be the technical term for a sunspot when part of the sun overheats and it causes a minor explosion on the surface of the sun. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Cipher Nascour looks almost just like Riku when he was possesed by Ansem. I wonder, with the whole thing about shadow pokemon and opening hearts, that the devolopment team might've took inspiration from Kingdom Hearts when making this game's story.
I said the same thing. Because of the hair and that skirt thing he wears. Also, a mix of Sephiroth. You can tell the Pokemon development team for this game were big Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fans. Also, Wes reminds me a mix of Yami Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh, Kai from Beyblade and Cloud from Final Fantasy 7. Maybe some Sonic or Shadow the Hedgehog influence as well.
Prior to this fight and its successor, I went through and got all the items from the Phenac, Pyrite, and Under Colosseums and went through the entirety of Mt. Battle and my team was barely on par for these two fights. Serious love/hate relationship with this game.
First time playing this game I was way under leveled for this fight, my highest level was 51 on my Espeon and after that all 40's. Gained experience though, one of my favorite games, they should make more like this.
In all honesty I should have seen that coming, but I never actually beat Nascour. This was back in a time I didn't understand building a team, or go out of my way to catch the shadow pokemon.
I find it cool that Nascour uses my favorite pokemon from gen 3, substitute Xatu for Evice's Salamence and thats pretty much my end game emerald team. I still use bits of that team in pretty much every game since.
I have to say, this is one of the most civilized arguments I have seen on youtube over lets players. You all should be proud for keeping this very calm and civil with no one cursing each other out by the third comment. :)
That final boss... so disappointing... That'd be like if you got to the end of Earthbound, Beat Giygas, then Apple Kid came out of nowhere and was the real final boss >.>
Honestly, I love the fact that Nascour has Metagross as his Shadow Pokémon. Honestly, Metagross is my absolute favorite Pokémon of all time. Massive attack and defense stats, cool looking design, and an awesome move pool. I love this Pokémon and no other Pokémon beats it for me.
Wow. I have a very strong memory of learning Moonlight and Morning Sun at Cipher`s lab...talk about overlevelled. Also. They went to every length they could think of to make Nascour look like the most evil they could even, because why not. I want to say well done, but...you almost expect what happens after that.
flareons not a good mon beacause it doesnt have a good movepool or great defenses which metagross has PLUS metagross has setup w/ hone claws or i guess meteor mash which flareon doesn't all in all flareon if it came out in gen 6 would've been treated a lot better with its movepool and its stat distribution

Note: Not the Mt. Battle in story mode. You have to choose singles or doubles in battle mode. They use Uber Legendaries as well so be prepared if you want that bird.
+David George It's random is what it is and a very odd choice especially for pokemon to do they've never done it, the entire game and games of the past always had music, and the final boss of the game gets music too so it's random here, I guess you have to ask yourself if Nascour is someone who deserves to be in that kind of battle really one with the "Artistic angle" of no music

This isn't the only time you can catch a Metagross. In the generation five games, you can find it in rustling grass in Giant Chasm.

No, not because of his pokemon or trying to catch his Shadow, but because his fight lacks ANY music. I mean damn, it really threw me off my game
Likely because his costume makes him look a LOT like Possessed-by-Ansem Riku. I showed someone a picture of him out of context so they wouldnt know who he is and they asked me if it was fanart of an older Ansem-possessed Riku.

Note: Not the Mt. Battle in story mode. You have to choose singles or doubles in battle mode. They use Uber Legendaries as well so be prepared if you want that bird.
The battle theme against Evice is so good. One of the best songs in the entire series

+David George It's random is what it is and a very odd choice especially for pokemon to do they've never done it, the entire game and games of the past always had music, and the final boss of the game gets music too so it's random here, I guess you have to ask yourself if Nascour is someone who deserves to be in that kind of battle really one with the "Artistic angle" of no music
it sets an atmosphere and ironicly if you listen to the chant before the fight it sounds like their chanting "kill, kill"
