It was very kind of the developers to make you believe Nascour was the final boss with his Catch Rate 3 Metagross that you'd most likely use your Master Ball on, before going into a battle with a much higher catch rate Tyranitar.
Funny story: the catch rates in Colosseum were changed, with Metagross having 15, and Tyranitar having 10 (the lowest in the game). Or course, since that was never brought up in the game or in any major source at the time (I believe) then... oops for everyone who 'wasted' a Master Ball on Metagross. But that was, regardless, a genius move by Colosseum devs. Not only did they have Metagross's catch rate be heightened up and Tyranitar's lowered, so the latter was harder to catch overall... but with the storysetting, and relative low availability of the Internet, no one suspected that there was someone above Nascour - he was settled to be the 'final boss' of the main story; even his battle covered in silence, with no music, only the sounds of wild crowd and battling Pokemon. So, not only Es Cade's/Evice's sudden appearance and battle caught countless players off-guard, but by also having overall stronger theme, with higher levels, and harder-to-catch pseudo (while not being aware of how difficult it is to catch in the game)... Despite knowing almost nothing of Pokemon, the devs outdone themselves
