Once again, a great episode with a game from my favorite universe. Had seen it a few months ago, in French. I love the going from sane to insane, impacting the choice you gotta make during the game.
Thanks for making the video. This helped me out big time. Got the game for my birthday in July and have yet to play it. Gonna get my first run in tomorrow👍
Wasn't gonna bother watching because hate the theme BUT Damn, this game actually does it right.. and has multiple paths... Thanks gang... That was fun to watch!
Looks like a great addition to the Cthulhu game universe 😀 I love the flip card mechanic for the Insane/Sane effects 🤪 I ordered this while watching the episode 😄 Ty ty so much 😃 Ia Ia Nyarlathotep 🤑 Lastly - I think the value of the monstrosities goes up as you go down the stack is to simulate Chaos growing stronger so more powerful monsters can emerge from gates 🙃
@52:00 orange should of received 9 points and be at 21 (12+9) instead of 19. Only thing that is bad in this game is the horrendously designed scoring track.
Endgame scoring: did Lincoln score ALL his map sections or just the set on top? I know Dave said that they scored in sets, so you could have more than one set of them, and I know Lincoln covered at least one or two. Just wondering.
1:03:52 Jackie paid to draw two then didn't discard two and nobody caught it. It actually cost her to do it that way, since those are the two cards she would've drawn at the end of her turn if she didn't use her desperation tokens...so she basically paid two for nothing.
Post game discussion...the scores were VERY tight...if the person to place the final gate didn't end the game immediately, I think it would unfairly give the players who didn't get a "last turn" too many opportunities to game the game...putting a bunch of dudes on the map, or placing that last rune, or whatever, giving them a BIG advantage in final scoring...and placing the last gate isn't a guaranteed win, either...what if it didn't score that player many points because they didn't have dudes in that map region? or what if it gives the player who controls that region a big chunk of points. I think the designers want players to look ahead..."this might be my last turn, so I better act now..." kind of thing. PLUS, the first player marker moves around the board...IF this game had a set first player, then I think Lincoln's argument would be fair, that they were shorted a turn...but because it moves...it's anyone's game.
Actually in this RND of a game it would be better to just end the round. The gates should thus open at the end of the round and that will limit the perceived unfairness and go a far way to making it fun for multiple plays. People tend to not like games that feel unfair and tend to not play or recommend them. IMHO
It's a rare occurrence when everyone on GameNight! is struggling to be positive about a game. This show has inspired a lot of purchases for me. But it's clear this game is a pass for me, which is why I love this show.
@@boardgamegeek sounds a bit unfair at first hi Link hey wouldn't it be great if there were GameNight Duels special with 2 Player games? WANT TO PLAY THIS!!
I think I need this!
I like how the cards are left-handed friendly. I might buy the game just for that reason.

Did u guys add in the leftover investigators on the board for a point a piece

I believe I did score them all. Thanks for checking. -Lincoln
"so we are sane now, right?"
answer should have been
"no, but we are pretending we are" :D
The Price is Right. There I ID'd it for you Lincoln. ;)

a very strange game, but thank you for showing us
Sometimes ya gotta go insane to outsane the sane. Know what I'm sane?
Not sure im only see it, but Dave finished a gate with 5 cards and everybody else with 6.
typo in the description... bgg link goes to Delirium, but you mention Incubation.
Thanks for noticing! I did it as a test, right? ;-) -Lincoln

I think this season has had a chockful of mediocre games...not the groups fault though
You forgot to reed the book pages.
Lord Quinn pretty sure you READ book pages!
@@Carfilliot Quite likely he doesn't :P
Alternately, roll them up and blow 'em #PanPipes
so 3 pairs > 5 straight ?
Yup, cause 6 cards > 5 cards .... all that matters is each page has 1 neighbor. So 3 Pairs = 2 Triples = 1 6-Card Straight
