    I’ve been watching Game Night for many years but I never knew Dave was an actor. Imagine my surprise when I walked into my living room the other day where my wife was watching an episode of Good Luck Charlie on Disney Plus and there was none other than Dave as the mean boss of the fast food restaurant! He was absolutely hilarious!

      Indeed. He was also involved in some way (I think as writer or something) on the last action hero, the Schwarzenegger movie.

    You’ve heard of the TableTop effect. This show triggered a Game Night effect, after which I called my FLGS and ordered both the game and its expansion map! Looks super fun! Friese is a genius!

      It would make a great light almost-filler. Occasionally Quicksand hits the table for a fast, and surprisingly tactical, 10-20 minute game.
      At 45 minutes this game is not a fast filler, but it seems to have some interesting strategy and tactics as well. The catchup mechanism seem great as well.

    I'm watching this video to learn the rules but I am very confused about the ant movement at 19:00. He uses 5 total ant movement to move himself 2 steps which is indeed ridiculously inefficient which they agree upon. But couldn't he just have moved the ant that is on the same tile as his sloth to the bridge as movement 1. And for the 4 other movements moved his sloth up the entire chain of ants to the elephant in the upper left corner of the map? Why doesn't the guy in the orange sweater who teaches the game point this out and correct him? Or am I missing something here?

    I always hate it when someone makes the ‘joke’ of “oh you waited til the optimal time to tell us that” or “ooooh, how convenient you forgot to mention the thing that just got you ahead of us” in a game. So when I realize i forgot, I just don’t do the thing on my turn and on the next person’s turn I mention “oh, and I forgot to mention that you can...”. Annoying comment/joke avoided and it doesn’t break up gameplay.
    Sometimes the rules explainer has to sacrifice optimal moves to keep the game flow even.

    Confused by Dave’s explanation of crocodile movement. He says the crocodile could not move to a spot because the movement didn’t come from being adjacent to water. However, the space the crocodile came from was adjacent to water.

    • @littledagi
      @littledagi 4 роки тому +1

      Think of it like this: when travelling through water-adjacent spaces, the crocodile doesn't go from grass to grass directly but kinda slides into water and then back onto the land, or ambles on the water edge. So it couldn't move to a spot Dave used in explanation because it would need to travel through grass, not along water.
      ...or am I only making this more confusing?

    • @Sam-vk8xd
      @Sam-vk8xd 4 роки тому

      lil dagi I’d say you’re making it as confusing as Dave. Still confusing.

    • @tiagomarques9822
      @tiagomarques9822 4 роки тому +1

      Try to think of the crocodile movement from a land hexagon to another as moving along the sides of the hexagons which connect to water, and only those. To make the movement Dave said wouldn’t be possible you would have to move the crocodile along sides which connected to other land hexagons.
      You can also imagine a grid of lines connecting the centers of all land hexagons. Really, imagine pins stuck on all these centers, and string connecting all pins on adjacent hexagons. Crocodiles can never cross these lines.

    • @MrLordWeh
      @MrLordWeh 4 роки тому +3

      @@tiagomarques9822 I think the easiest way to explain it would be the space it it is leaving and the space it enters must share a common water hex.

    • @tiagomarques9822
      @tiagomarques9822 4 роки тому +1

      @@MrLordWeh That one is a really good explanation. I'd just phrase it slightly differently: "Any time the crocodile leaves a hex and enters a new one, these hexes must have an adjacent water hex in common."

    • @57thorns
      @57thorns 4 роки тому +1

      It can't. But I hope no one looks at these videos to actually learn the rules.
      What they do however is show how good a game is if you have the right group for it, and they help me figure out what games I might like myself, and then realise I do not have the group for it anyway. :-(

    Surely on the last turn 1:04 Lincoln could have summoned the eagle to the space next to him grab leaf as he hopped on and flew to his final leaf for the win (tons of spare movement cards). I love all your videos, but it seems like you guys all struggled to make the most of so many movement turns all throughout this game.

    23:48 Arch sin of game teacher: "I forgot to mention this rule that I am using now."
    In a friendly teaching game you help less experienced players, at least in the first rounds until they get the hang of it.
    That ant move in the start was horrendous. And people dropping off instead of picking up leaves on the go.
    And I am still confused as to the grabbing range (i any) of the sloth, can you pick a a leave in an adjacent spot?
    Also, can a crocodile "swicth bank" inside a tile. In the first example, do the croc have to move all the way to the tip of the land, or just to the land with the two shores?
    But it looks like a fun fairly light game, with drafting.

      The sloth cannot pick up a leaf from an adjacent space. The sloth must enter or pass through a space to collect a leaf. The rules state: "When the Animal picks you up on a tree space, or walks on a space with a
      tree while carrying you, you collect your Leaf “on the go”, even if the Animal
      continues to carry you to more spaces. If the Animal drops you on a space
      with a tree, of course you also collect your Leaf."

    • @57thorns

      @@imtheurbanspaceman I am pretty sure the rules are clear, and as the video progressed some of my initial questions were answered. Interesting medium filler/short game.
