Is there something going on with one of Dr Sinclair's eyes? Also, are we really fasting? How did we come up with the idea that we should have 3 meals plus snacks a day? Is this cultural, promoted by business? (e.g. cereal companies last century).
Women should fast on certain days of the month, not randomly. For men, fasting is ok anytime, for women, no. Almost no one talks about these differences that should be highlighted.
During intermittent fasting, if we feel hungry, do we still wait till break fast time or start eating light or keep drinking water to fill our stomach?
Agree about food tasking better. I fast from 1pm until after my morning workout and when I eat breakfast finally after fasting and a workout it tastes SO GOOD. I think of it like I "earned" my food as opposed to just having it there.
There is no robust research showing that daily IF (16:8) causes autophagy or increases life span. It's simply a great way to reduce our daily calorie intake. Now fasting 1 day or more is a different issue and more research is needed.
I do the 18/6 fast starting from 6pm so I'm asleep during most of my fast which makes it way easier. @@tealatata I do. I've lost a lot of weight fasting and am very muscular. Your body will burn fat and excess skin connective tissue first before muscle.
@@tealatata Yes you can or Id rather you should. When doing intermittent fasting there is no reason to avoid workouts, you still have a lot of glycogen stored in your muscles. But when you do a prolonged fasting you need to adapt your training a little bit. It means less weight in strength training and staying in zone 2 in endurance (avoid zone 5). Not stopping your workouts in a prolonged fast permits you to lose weight (mostly fat) far more quickly and to lose less lean mass. I'm on my 6th day of fasting and keep doing my strength and endurance training : I already lost 6kg : that's 1kg/day. That will only last until your body becomes more "metabolically flexible" and is able to switch from burning Glucose (food in the mouth) to burning fat stored in your adipose tissue. The headaches are in many cases caused by either withdrawal from sugar (either actual sugar or carbohydrates), a lack of water and minerals, and sometimees even an innordinant amount of toxins being released during the fat burning stage. Bottom line, it goes away. Be sure to drink enough fluids, and make sure you have enough minerals in your meals to help your body chemistry when not eating.

But if I eat at 5 am as it’s a professional hazard what does that mean if I eat again at 7 pm!! I thought that the food inside the body will be digesting till 7 pm so actually I’m not fasting !! Please clear this doubt for me
The Myth of Fasting for Longevity: Why We're Already Living Longer Than Our Ancestors In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards fasting as a means of improving health and longevity. The argument goes that, in our modern world of abundance and constant access to food, we have lost touch with the natural rhythms of our bodies and the way our ancestors lived. By fasting, we can reset our biological clocks and potentially extend our lifespans. However, this argument is based on a flawed assumption: that our ancestors lived shorter lives than we do today. In fact, the opposite is true. While life expectancy has certainly increased in the modern era, our ancestors were not necessarily doomed to short, brutal lives. Studies of ancient populations have shown that, on average, humans in the Paleolithic era (around 10,000 years ago) had lifespans similar to those of modern humans. This is despite the fact that they did not have access to many of the modern medical and technological advances that we take for granted today. Furthermore, there is evidence that our ancestors practiced a form of intermittent fasting as a natural consequence of their hunter-gatherer lifestyle. They would go for extended periods without food, then feast when the opportunity presented itself. This suggests that our bodies are well-adapted to periods of fasting and feasting, and that we do not necessarily need to adopt extreme fasting regimens to achieve optimal health. Of course, there are certainly benefits to fasting, such as improved insulin sensitivity and weight loss. However, it is important to question the idea that fasting is necessary for longevity, or that our ancestors were somehow inferior to us in terms of lifespan. By understanding the ways in which our bodies have evolved over time, we can make informed decisions about how to optimize our health and wellbeing, without succumbing to fads or myths.
It has generally not worked well for me. In my 20s I regularly skipped breakfast daily and dinner a couple nights a week and lunch on the weekends and I was more unhealthy than I've ever been. No energy. I was also during this time underweight, needless to say, despite really stuffing myself during that one or two meals I'd have. I'd have random days where I'd wake up completely drained, feeling wiped out. I still get these sometimes but not with nearly the same frequency as before. Now I strength train which requires pretty regular eating. My energy level has stabilized as has my mood. I'm sure there are great benefits to fasting for the typical overweight and sedentary American, but for me the fact that our ancestors did it by no choice of their own isn't enough to convince me we are healthier following suit. Our ancestors also lived to an average age of 35 supposedly.
What were you eating when you did eat? Fasting increases life span simply due to the fact that digestion requires more energy than even doing a weight training session, anytime the body has excess energy rather than going to digestion, it goes to repairing the body. This is why the Japanese diet prolongs life, its easy on the digestion. Your diet when you skipped meals is a lot different than your diet now that you are doing weight training. You can eat 3 meals a day but if they are dead calories, you will not have energy, where I could eat 1 highly nutritious meal per day and have more energy than you or someone else eating poor calories.
@@DJ-st4rs”dead” calories? A calorie is a calorie. It’s merely a unit of energy. Calorie restriction is meant to prolong life because presumably metabolism has as an unavoidable byproduct free radicals and hence oxidative stress. You limit metabolism you limit oxidative damage…. That’s the theory at least, and yet there are plenty of people who just eat when hungry (not to excess) and through no extra effort of their own live to 100. What appears however to support the theory is the fact that people who overexercise (eg marathon runners) often die relatively young and generally look tired and haggard. In my own case I’ve found the middle road the best… eat when hungry, exercise a lot but not to absolute exhaustion, and sleep plenty. That ought to get me to 95% of my genetic potential lifespan at least. The other 5% has too much sacrifice to be worth it. Oh and to answer your question I tried to eat mainly meat and starches , kind of a paleo thing, but found very quickly I had trouble getting near enough calories on this to even maintain my scrawny weight. I had strangers tell me they thought I was too thin and were concerned.
Reverse Aging? Yes, it can be done. Whether one is eating daily psychological eating, or high junk food eating or balanced meal diet, one should habitually do things that will digest the food in less than 2 days. Like drinking lots of water, stretch exercises, and eating fruits high in fiber. That is simple weekly reverse aging. If those undigested food gets traffic inside the body, double or triple those simple good digestion steps. Well, its obvious that everyone knows the huge undigested food are aging poos(yah reality check, let it go), turned diabetes causes turned to cancer. Read lots of health and medical journals. Or simply put common sense of what goes in should go out in some.
It doesn’t. An eating disorder would involve not eating at all. Most of humane history has us eating lots then eating little. Depending on what we kill or forage.
@@co36 firstly, you’re incredibly misinformed about eating disorders. Secondly, in the days that we used to kill and forage our own food, our life expectancies were a lot shorter than they are now, when most people are able to eat at regular intervals throughout the day.

More you eat, more your stimulated to eat! Eating stimulates you to eat more, never ever eat breakfast, after one day of fasting your not even hungry! Eat half what your currently eating, greatly improve your health and longevity!
Do you have black tea/coffee or with milk and sugar? At what time do you have dinner?
Is there something going on with one of Dr Sinclair's eyes? Also, are we really fasting? How did we come up with the idea that we should have 3 meals plus snacks a day? Is this cultural, promoted by business? (e.g. cereal companies last century).

Women should fast on certain days of the month, not randomly.
For men, fasting is ok anytime, for women, no. Almost no one talks about these differences that should be highlighted.
Agreed. Dr Mindy Pelz explains the timing (hormones).
How do you mean
During intermittent fasting, if we feel hungry, do we still wait till break fast time or start eating light or keep drinking water to fill our stomach?
when u are hungry during fasting, drink plenty of water or black coffee or tea . no sugars or milk at all cause calories break fasting :)
Agree about food tasking better. I fast from 1pm until after my morning workout and when I eat breakfast finally after fasting and a workout it tastes SO GOOD. I think of it like I "earned" my food as opposed to just having it there.
Thank You sooo much Dr.’s

My cuestión is how can i Take my suplentes if I Skip meals diet ?!🤷♀️🤦♀️

There is no robust research showing that daily IF (16:8) causes autophagy or increases life span. It's simply a great way to reduce our daily calorie intake.
Now fasting 1 day or more is a different issue and more research is needed.
I put collagen in my morning coffee and eat my first meal around 2-3pm then 6-7 pm. 2meals daily.
Does the collagen in coffee considered a meal?
I do the 18/6 fast starting from 6pm so I'm asleep during most of my fast which makes it way easier. I do this twice a week for a month , twice a year as I do bodybuilding and struggle to keep my size. Would that be enough to gain all benefits though? I also read that its more beneficial to do alternative day fasting so you fast one day then not the next then fast again etc . Unsure why it could be better than just fasting for 2 continuous days though ?
I have just one question, does he dyes his hair?
Now science is saying fasting is the secret of being young and long life but our holidays prophet Mohammad peace and blessings be upon him told him that 1400 years ago…..
Thank you, Dr. Chatterjee.
Looking very youthfulness. Sinclair this is fantastic news on fasting
How does one fast as suggested (skip 2 meals) and build/maintain muscle which is essential to healthspan and additionally lifespan?
Plenty of protein when you DO eat!
Is this IF good for pregnant or nursing mothers?
I'd like to know whether we can replace breakfast and dinner with fruit and only have food at noon
That was how people ate long ago, and there are still billions eat only once a day; for some economic problems, for others habits/traditions.
God bless
I can’t get past the nausea if I wait very long, not sure if that’s normal.
I wonder who the man upstairs is
Dr Sinclair speaks much good sense but I feel there is too much obsessing over eating particular fruits. Moderation is the key but it's also great to know which ones deliver high bang for the health buck.
Finally I wonder why every video appearance or photo seems to have a filter applied to suggest he has flawless skin and eternal youth. Hmm...
I have to disagree about animals. My cats live to be very old because they are loved. They eat whenever they want. But it’s true with humans.. like clearing yourself.
How long do your cats live?
Follow wild animals and nature's living. Inconsistent eating pattern, long duration without food, always moving to search for food. physical activity are diverse and no set pattern. Keep the body and mind adapting to new and different things.
I would like to test the NMN on myself, can anyone tell me which company to buy it from? I'm a little skeptical about it
How do you skip a meal if you do a physical job?.....or does doing a physical job , require no fasting?
just be cheerful, have enough sleep, avoid stress, don't be lazy, and eat only when you hungry
Your body will adopt to it. I do physical job and being in front of foods all the time. It’s self discipline 💪
Self discipline and I also put salt in my water to drink through the day to keep my electrolytes replenished and my energy up (Himalayan Pink Salt and Potassium Chloride)
Hope this helps!

with cautions, please, major scandel in the west on this one with the doctors leaving out the feeding tubes about 15 years ago with hospital patients. It wasn't intentional they just didn't think about it and the nurses just didn't ask, at one point the nurses complained and then other nurses joined in and it briefly hit the news. I am talking about the doctor/patient as seen relationships and doctors have tanked in this dept on second after they propped up the insurance industry, it was the point of no return for one of my loved ones. The nutritional problems creating so many of our health problems these days works both ways. Just a caution, I am trying this method now but I am not strapped down in a hospital and can't speak either
Mice fasting 16 hours out of 24 hrs does not correlate to people fasting 16 out of 24. 1 mouse hour does not correlate to 1 human hour. A 3 day fast for a person is more equivalent to 16 mice hours of fast.
I found it rather easy.
I've been fasting for about 6 months now by skipping breakfast. I recommend my Mom to IF also but she said her doctor told her skipping breakfast increases dementia and she already has mild symptoms of this disease. What is correct?
I have been skipping breakfast for 7 years, like I don’t eat for 16 hours and only have 2 times meal a day
She shouldn’t skip breakfast then. You should always listen to your doctor, they are going to know your specific history and characteristics. You have to take what you listen to on UA-cam with a grain of salt. The internet should be for entertainment not medical advice!

Were Dr. Sinclair suggesting skip breakfast and lunch?
there's a little video in your filter, Doctor...

Thanks for useful informations, but I wonder is one meal daily sufficient to have all we need from Vitamins and minerals? So we need to take more supliments bills!
I think most of the resources can be found from the Google.
For your question, in my opinion, all pills are human made, like a processed product. Natural food comes first. It also depends what you eat. Carbohydrates must be very very low. Tq.
Some method Sinclair used, I would doubt it, because he is still researching it. Not a final proven products. He is doing now is introduced ideas found from internet.
Thank you 🥰
Thank you thank you thank you 🧡
A question to Dr David Sinclair - I am needing research that people may know of, about using Electro Magnetics and Frequencies to wind back the telemerses body Clock. Say books and names of people who have done or are doing research on this subject. Please let me know in here and I will get an email from you tube when you put something in here.
Is it good to fast even if I am really skinny?
I do a monthly 5 day water fast preceded by a colon enzyme flush and I end with a liver enzyme flush- very powerful
2-3 times a week I fast 18-20 Hours
I also am plantbased and high raw
I lift weights three times a week and do yoga 2-3 times a week
I am almost 50, not on any hormones and feeling great
No cosmetic work done either

meanwhile, i cant remember the last time i was sick, and i never got covid even though never got vaccinated til the beginning of this year, and rarely wore a mask.
its the plant-based foods that kill us. vegetables are evolutionarily evolved to fight back against being eaten (not the case for most fruits, im mostly talking about veges here). sure, we are biologically omnivorous, but that doesnt mean veges. so-called "non-toxic" veges might not kill you outright, but most are slowly poisoning you and your reproductive health, and sabotaging your future generations via Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals of one type or another.
it doesnt help that we slather them in more EDCs (both pesticides and fertilisers), and to top it all off, you have to destroy far more trees to produce a diet of plants than you do if you raise animals in amongst natural environments.
seriously, for sooo many reasons to do with so many aspects of life, if you did one good thing for the future of humanity, stop eating the damn plants.

Doesn’t that waste away your muscle though?
No. It actually causes growth hormone to kick in, after about 18 hours of fasting.
@@pm6613 do you should even workout fasted then ?
When I fast without doing my workouts, after 2 or 3 days, I lose far less than 1kg generally no more than 300 - 400 g a day.

If I starve for so long my sugar drops and then I get v bad migraines so please help me
That will only last until your body becomes more "metabolically flexible" and is able to switch from burning Glucose (food in the mouth) to burning fat stored in your adipose tissue.
Your not Starving…..eating one healthy meal a day is more than many of your ancient ancestors had and they survived without any medicine or technology…..
I believe that electrolytes may help you.
If you have a medical issue like that, do consult a medical professional.
I’m prone to migraine as well. What I do is drink black coffee in the mornings and lots of water. When I start to get hungry I drink more water. When I have the first signs of getting lightheaded or even slightest signs of headache I eat immediately. My body has slowly been able to fast this way longer and longer without food 😊.
But if I eat at 5 am as it’s a professional hazard what does that mean if I eat again at 7 pm!! I thought that the food inside the body will be digesting till 7 pm so actually I’m not fasting !! Please clear this doubt for me
Yes, you need at the very least 12 hours to get into a fasting state.

The Myth of Fasting for Longevity: Why We're Already Living Longer Than Our Ancestors
In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards fasting as a means of improving health and longevity.
Thanks for the video

Reverse Aging? Yes, it can be done.
Whether one is eating daily psychological eating, or high junk food eating or balanced meal diet, one should habitually do things that will digest the food in less than 2 days.
Like drinking lots of water, stretch exercises, and eating fruits high in fiber.
That is simple weekly reverse aging.
If those undigested food gets traffic inside the body, double or triple those simple good digestion steps.
Well, its obvious that everyone knows the huge undigested food are aging poos(yah reality check, let it go),
turned diabetes causes
turned to cancer.
Read lots of health and medical journals. Or simply put common sense of what goes in should go out in some.
That's why God as as (as Muslims) to fast Ramadan.

grape juice does the same for your body no alcohol.

Then what about 2500 calories required to men.
Doesn’t this sound a bit like an eating disorder? I’m surprised to hear two doctors calmly advocating not eating for 22 hours every day
The title on the video “ REVERSE AGING IN 7 DAYS” is misleading. This is very simple. Every animal is built by nature not to eat everyday. One two legged animal eats five times a day, go figure.
Looks like Dr. Sinclair is not in tune with Dr. Panda... Though both theories are the two sides of the same coin
