I'm from Nashville, born and raised, but I moved to this small city close to Kentucky and I've lived there for about 2 years. I miss Hattie B's and Prince's Hot Chicken so much. One location I used to go to all the time literally burned down on a grease fire and the city I live in doesn't even have either restaurant. I like the KFC Nashville Hot chicken, but when you go to Nashville and got to Prince's Hot Chicken or Hattie B's it's a whole new world. I've wanted to make it on my own for such a long time and I always forget, but I think I'll give this recipe a shot. Thank you for what you are doing, im sure you are making a great fortune for yourself, but youre still a blessing to humanity, for creating such amazing recipes for free.
Unfortunately the reality is that Josh can afford to spend the time to make each meal/dish way better ***because*** he's doing it himself and has hours to spend. The restaurants have to worry about the logistics of hundreds of pounds of meat and refrigerated transportation and food safety/allergy guidelines, etc. It's just not feasible, that's the *point* of a fast food place. Good enough for the price, at a large, consistent scale.
I just made these today, EXACTLY AS STATED in the recipe. Except I covered it in homemade dill pickles and had ranch (hubby) or blue cheese (me) dressing for dipping. With a side of raw broccoli and cauliflower to counteract the grease. That's real in my mind. TOTALLY DELISHIOUS. I will make again. On repeat.
Actually you hit the nail right on the head. There’s a large chicken chain in England that served KFC chicken and they sued the corporation for changing the recipe and deviating from the Colonel’s vision. Of course he lost because the corporation owns everything so he broke away and now serve chicken with the original recipe because that’s the way the Colonel would’ve wanted it according to the owner.

MSG is the secret to making food taste good without giving it flavour.
