    My seal was about 2 inches to short, so I put it in the sun for a few hours and then used a hair dryer to help stretch it into place. What a PITA!! But looked great when finished.

    Can't wait to see the sliding window frame install video as it will help me greatly when I replace my rear sliding window frame once this winter is over

      It's exactly the same install as this, 100%. We actually started out to install a slider in this video, but the owner of the truck said he would prefer if we put a standard glass in it. Thanks for watching!

      @@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV I think you might find the two installations to be very different and I'm sure there are many others that would also like to see the sliding window metal frame install just as I do

    • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
      @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV  3 роки тому +1

      @@jessiej3991 We've done both installs, they are the same, no doubt about it. The pinch seam around the metal frame gets treated just like as if it was the edge of a piece of glass. The ONLY difference is that in some spots the metal frame is slightly more difficult to work around with the tools than it is on a standard glass.

    Great video, thank you for doing these videos David. You give THE BEST tips, tricks and advice!! My Dad has a 77 Chevy Blazer and is currently retired. He has a bit of trouble with doing things these days (arthritis & lack of patience) so I am trying to step in to lend a hand. He went on an LMC shopping spree so there are 3 huge boxes of random items that I want to put to use. I'm an rx tech so mechanics is still kind of foreign to me, but with your videos I feel more confident in helping do this project. Thanks again and if you can, pray for my Dad because if this goes well I might try to add some pink accents to his blazer😂😂 (I have a buddy that told me about this thing called "powder coating", and it sounds fun)

    A person could probably use a piece of that yellow rope out about 1/8 have it in the rubber and then pull it out as you set the window in and it would set the rubber on top of the window?

    • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
      @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV  2 роки тому +1

      We don't see why it wouldn't? Both the Factory Slider and the regular glass mount the same way. Our seals work with sliders and solid glass too. Is there a specific PRP Part # you could share and we'll check into it further?

      @@camkitchiner We carry that same seal and have used it on factory sliders successfully in the past. We can't see any reason it wouldn't work for you. It's possible they say that because the factory slider frame is slightly thinner than an actual piece of solid glass which may cause a looser fit? We're not sure. FWIW, we also recently did a factory slider install using the WCR 1135 which says it won't work either, but we had no problems.
