The video, how he just wanders around looking for peace and happiness, reminds me of my life. I have achieved my dreams for work, I am a pilot for a corporate company, and I am also a truck driver (my other dream). But even then, I still wander around looking for happiness and peace. I realized that my true happiness in this life is helping people, while not expecting anything in return. I mean that.

Always been one of my favourites. Very underrated.
I grew up in a wasteland. My parents' marriage was never normal, so fights and depression were always around. My brother and I found comfort in music. I still remember the day I got this album and this song spoke to me in many ways, it's hard to grow up not having a choice, not like everyone else does. My brother and I still remember this song as an anthem for the lost, the wandering souls looking for a home, for a place where they can belong.

In the middle of the song it gradually flows into a story of growing up and realizing that you make hard decisions and go though many disappointments and you'll have to move on. In the end of the song you'll see that all you really need is hope. Sometimes stumbling, and falling around you'll make it through with hope.

In early 2k's, I can't barely watched the music video of this from MTV due to lack of signal in the Philippines. What I did was holding our TV antenna up just to see how incredible this song was... and my mom told me that I'm crazy... yeah! Even though there's still a glitch, I'd still enjoy the song. Now, thanks to internet I can always sanitize my self with this.

I play this every single Thanksgiving morning, before the parade. Puts things in perspective.
I'm a fan of hardcore punk. Green day has a few great punk songs but I never thought it was their thing compared to the bands they were inspired by. But THiS, is amazing. Easily my favorite of theirs

i remember the first time i listened to this song. I had bought their album on a cassette tape and i was so frigging happy. when this song played, everything paused. for those four minutes, it was just me and this song. It was actually the first time i closed my eyes and waved while alone in a room. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with its huge helium character balloons has been an attraction for thousands of New Yorkers every fall ever since its appearance in 1927. In the song, the Parade is symbolizing modern society's tendency to put material values over emotional ones. The song shows how we always look for bargains from the cradle to the grave, and get so consumed by materialism that we sometimes forget about the one thing that makes us human - feeling.
And then the song gradually flows into a story of growing up and realizing that you have to make difficult choices, and even though you will have to stumble over lies and disappointments you will still have to move on. And you might never get everything you want, but in the end you will see that all you really need is a little hope.
The video is quite uncomplicated and flows calmly like the song itself - the leading character simply walks through life exploring, choosing which way to go, sometimes stumbling and sometimes walking on water, or choosing to walk around it - you'll make it through everything as long as you have hope.
Thank you Green day for a wonderful masterpiece.
The first time I ever heard this song was with my best mate. We had been smoking weed all night and it was about 3 o clock in the morning and he put this song on and I thought it was absolutely beautiful and I've loved it ever since. Fun times

I grew up with Green Day during my teen years. Pretty sure I saw Billie Joe at punk rock shows back in the day (when I worked the door at the Pit? Or Gilman Street? Or?) Anyway, my son is a teen now & I’m feeling the urge/need to leave the city or fly from the next so to speak… especially since teens/young adults aren’t leaving home on their own so easily nowadays… anyways, it’s complicated but I need to follow my heart. ❤

+Tourist from another Universe Its my 2nd favorite Green Day Album only beaten by Insomniac. As for the reason I love Warning well this, the title track, Blood Sex and Booze, Misery, Waiting, and of course their one true anthem Minority. The rest of the album is solid but I can understand why it didn't go over well when it was released.
It compares well with NOFX's 90s album "Heavy Petting Zoo" - know for being a fun punk band, they made an album which is slower, more melancholic, less skate-able. And apparently everyone considers it their least favourite, but it's my no1 from them. Guess this means they could never be my no1 favourite band :)

i mean, you're a kid, you'll watch the macy's day parade and then it's all pretty magical and it feels so alive and when you get older you realize it was just a big live commercial from a department store, it's aboslutely souless and heartbreaking

Warning is a fucking solid album. Anything before Uno is good, which is remarkable really. It was a 20 year run of good albums. I’m not so into their new stuff, but after giving me 20 years worth of good stuff, you’ll never hear me bitch about it. It’s like Bowie in the 80s. It wasn’t a great run in the 80s but he had delivered like 11 album streak of classics, so he had goodwill for life at that point.
I'm 42. I'm allowed to still like Green Day! This is easily in my top 3. Awesome song. Love it!

I got into Green Day when I was like, 12 or maybe 13. Right when this was the single playing on TV. It was love at first listen/sight. I don't get why people disliked Warning, it meant the world to me. One of the very first records I asked my parents for money to purchase. Much love from a Brazilian kid who never properly grew up. I love this song to death.
