Lyrics:
Well, I heard you crying loud
All the way across town
You've been searching for that someone and it's me out on the prowl
As you sit around feeling sorry for yourself
Well, don't get lonely now
And dry your whining eyes
I'm just roamin' for the moment, sleazin' my backyard, so don't get
So uptight, you've been thinking about ditching me
No time to search the world around
'Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
Oh, I heard it all before
So don't knock down my door
I'm a loser and a user, so I don't need no accuser
To try and slag me down because I know you're right
So go do what you like
Make sure you do it wise
You may find out that your self-doubt means nothing was ever there
You can't go forcing something if it's just not right
No time to search the world around
'Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
No time to search the world around
'Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
When I come around
When I come around
When I come around

Woohoo
I’m 15, exploring new genres, I luv this
Edit/Update: All you guys are awesome. I’m now in college and this has been my favorite song since then. Thank you all for the different song and band suggestions!
Also back then, I meant to say exploring “different” genres not new if that caused some confusion.
Same here :D
My child...

same bro, my dad introduced me to Green Day about a year ago and I fucking love it
At 12 I found Pearl Jam, Green Day, nirvana, etc ... Now I'm 14 (this year I turn 15) keep listening!
The 90's feel so different. Not just a nostalgic thing, but like we crossed a threshold into another world that we can never come back from. Everything feels so different.
90s were the best
It's probably because it's after the 80s and that was a great decade too
Huge paradigm shift in the 2000's .
The difference is crazy isn't it! We did cross a line, a very very bad line. I'd give anything to go back to when things were normal, the world's too fucked up now.. and the worst part is.. there's no need for it. I pray good prevails over this evil we're faced with
@@seanpower660it was just as bad then too. Just didn't have it in your face 24/7. No devices.
Green Day aged like a fine wine. I absolutely love their music.
same dude im really young i just turned 17 but im so glad i found them i just bought tickets for a concert coming up soon im excited to see them play live ive already watched a lot of their older concerts
@@Myst1c_OW real, they’ve been my favorite band since 4th grade, I was so excited when I was able to get tickets
@@ciggaretesandvalentines yeah dude im happy to finally go see them live their music is incredible and they have amazing personalities too from what i can tell after watching some of their interviews and stuff
Nah fr a lot of people loved them back then but so many people were haters too
yeah!
Me and a really good friend of mine from high school bonded because of Green day, we ditched school a lot, discovered our shared love of weed and started a punk band. Us and our little group of friends ended up going our separate ways in life when we reached our 20's. I carried on playing in bands, while he joined the army for a while, he didn't pursue the music thing and I didn't hear from him for years after that.
A couple of years ago, he walked into a bar I was working at and we caught up, When I come around came on the speakers and we reminisced about the times spent goofing off listening to Dookie. About a week after that I got a message from his mother telling me he had taken his own life, and that it'd mean a lot if I went to his funeral as he always talked about those years as some of his happiest.
I haven't listened to Green day for years. But since then, this album sounds completely different and it now brings me to tears. Not communicating with him for years is always going to be one of my biggest regrets, if you have an old friend you haven't heard from in a while you should reach out to them, you could have a bigger impact than you realise.
I don't know why I wrote this, I never normally comment on anything but it felt right to share for whatever reason.
i agree..when we are young we do a lot of mistakes and aafter that sometimes we cant correct them.i thinking about that these days.your message is to try to think and dont do these mistakes again and we try to correct some..the days are running..we must live ethical and we must think.. i have a suggestion for us..calisthenics.which means in greek, beauty (cali-kalos) and strong in mind(sthenics-sthenos)..from a guy in greece..sorry for my english..be strong
It's a sad, but good story to hear too
A song thats eternally good, a one in a billion classic in the music industry.

Time fucking sucks
There are certain 90’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
Isn`t it time to start seeking out all of that knowledge, we all, still missing?
ua-cam.com/video/ttviqvfTBTg/v-deo.html you and me, we SHALL BE JUDGED. Therefore, let me ask a little: which ones your actions and thoughts are?
- evil or good?
ua-cam.com/play/PLHYOKu9d9bz7B0iL4ZleIQYscvdaZcvWF.html
1776 - 2022 = 246
1776 - 2076 = 300
We have lived under the freemasons tryanny, oh perdon, i mean, under their rulership close to 300 years. Sadly much anough to forget all, that was before „they” took everything under their control and keep it that way, that long.
246 years of lifetimes, under the „power” of evil. And we dream of a good lives to live. How come we can do it under the rulership of the wicked?
!go and find a job! = !go and find a enslavement!. And we, humans, find it a problem, that we were slaves generations back. The reasons it ain´t a problem now? For we, humans, being slaves, haven`t changed. WE ARE ALL STILL SLAVES! This haven´t changed.
Now, can you, a reader of my writtings can you explain: why are we still slaves?, when the matter of fact, it is already proven, that EVERLASTING IS FREE:
- WATER,
- FOOD,
- ELECTRICITY,
- LAND,
- AIR.
Who find it`s un-benefits them, if we are truly FREED? - freemasons.
SLAVES we are and will remain, until the HUNGER FOR THE MISSING KNOWLEDGE is found in all of us. Do we even know how to live, BEING FREE?
In the days of NOAH, only 8 souls, were left to live, out from millinons. Yet, we, nowdays won`t even function unless someone form older generations tells us what to do. Why is things that way, if we are all free and highly educated?

Lamentations 1:16 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
John 14:26 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 16:7 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Let me be cut of this earth imminently if i even dare to reject CHRIST. I may and surly shall have trials and times that i just cant go anymore, i may and sadly surly shall backslide again and again, still as long as i breath, i get up and keep on going. Cause, if i dare to give up so easily, i then surly DIE and not just once, but twice. Let my name be found.......and let me be strong and "crazy" enough to keep the faith until the end.
The fear of GOD should be found in me.
Have the FEAR OF GOD in you and be sure these words from GOD "depart for me, i never new you" , you shall never hear. May your name also be found .......
Yes! 🙌
AGREED!!!!

I'm 35 years old now and this song never gets old. I miss those days while having good time with my friends playing this awesome song. the saddest part is seeing my hero getting old. What an artist to treasure.
Well the cool part is that I watched a video of them performing this song from this year for an Amazon music festival and the mind blowing part of it all they still vocally sound almost almost identical to the original studio recording from 30 years ago! 30YEARS LATER AND THEY STILL SOUND AMAZING THE BAND IS STILL TOGETHER AND GOING STRONG AND HAVE CONTINUED TO RELEASE NEW ALBUMS TO THIS DAY. Now how many bands can you count started in the 80s and are still all alive or haven’t died of any overdoses well, still managing to make new albums to this day that only add to their growing list of greatest hits. Not really, any that I can think of at the very least or the very least, not that I can think of that still have all the band members that are still alive at the very least that are still managing to make new albums that stay true to their sound And manage to be . there truly isn’t any band quite like Green Day and I really feel like modern bands should learn a few things from them to last as long as they have and are still continuing to last. here’s to many more years of Green Day. I salute them for continuing to last as long as they have and staying up with the times and still managing to pump out new songs, what legends.
im 40 so im a Dookie kid and i saw Billie perform live for the first time in my life last month in my hometown. Dude is in his 50's and he still has loads of energy. Dude was running around like a madman on stage, engaging with the crowd, bringing fans on stage. You would think after 30+ years of touring that dude would lose passion and calm down a little bit. it was the exact opposite. Billie LOVES to perform, hes like a fish in water when hes on stage.
I'm 62 my wife is 60 ...yeah we like these guys..lmao

Billie Joe does actually. He still goes to shows.

I feel so lucky I got to grow up with this and more music like this on the radio every day.
I used to keep a blank cassette in my stereo and rush to slam the record button when my favorite songs, like this one, came on. I had dozens of mix tapes with songs all missing the first few seconds or with a DJ talking over the beginning of a song, this was definitely one of them lol
I hope kids growing up today look back on their youth and smile like I do when I think of the mid-90's through mid-2000's.

People saying "oh I've liked this band/ music genre since who gives a fuck" need to realize... this is the internet where people come to like, dislike, bitch about, or start fights with strangers. Your opinions matters( to yourself! And that's all that matters, right?) but if you're negitive, your opinions don't mean a motherfucking thing. So don't just comment to one-up someone or to shove your opinions in someone elses face saying'here forget about what you like here's a list of thing I like and dislike, Now CARE!' Because again this is the internet and no one gives a thought.

Some people are negative (like, uh...Me...). Just the way they are. I agree with you, the whole I've been listening to stuff since I was 30 seconds old stuff is just crap (because, if you listened to loud rock music when you were just out of the womb, some stupid shit must be going on in the brains of your doctor (rock music is good but, you don't wanna make it cry more)). i'm teenager now, i started listening to green day, nirvana, offspring, linkin park,... one or two years ago and i think i'm kind of lucky beacause there is youtube and spotify so i can listen to this whenever i want
I went to the hella mega tour a few weeks ago im 15 and this is my faveorite band ever
theyre literally my fav artists
I'm convinced I'm the only one in my high school who likes Green Day. Everyone else is just listening to the awful mainstream songs that go around nowadays.
It would've been so cool to live in the 90s. Literally the best music.
I loved this song since I was a kid. I love it even more now that I understand the lyrics. Still gives me chills.
Green Day was on point back in the day and I'm a brother from DC who grew up in the 60s and 70s listening to R&B and soul music. I was thinking about this song so I said let me get on UA-cam and get a blast from the past. One of the all-time great songs.
👏 👏 👏
Green Day make the world go round 🐯
God i was in grade 9 in 94 and what a hell of a time to be alive, we had no idea at the time how good we really had it
I've grown up on green day, I may only be a 2004 kid but I absolutely love greenday. Every time I'd go and see my dad he kept greendays dookie album in the side of the door and we'd listen to it nonstop
That means that you have a very good taste in music 🎵🎵. Your dad has done a very good job also showing you what good music really is. hehehe.
Me and you both. Makes me wish that times weren’t so confusing.
you'll never know what it's like to grow up in a free generation.
Turning 40 this year, 1st song i heard on the 1st time hearing the dookie album and ..led to 1st song learnt on the guitar..still gives me a feeling i can't describe..now playing it to my daughter 🤯😁🥲🤟✊
Rock on! Born in 90 to Gen X parents who were class of 85 and 89 respectively. Grew up at the jersey shore where my parents and their friends went out to listen to cover bands who played in the summer nightly all these kinds of songs. Ofcourse I was the only kid out of them and all their friends. Always remember them pre game to these songs when I was little and watching beavis and butthead with their friends before they went out lol. 90s was truly the last great decade. Anyone saying otherwise probably wasn’t around then. 😅
I had forgot how good Green Day was because they were almost over played for a bit there but I'm currently on a binge listening to their greatest hits and realizing how special they are all over again.
Legend has it they are still walking to this day they just look different and it’s boulevard of broken dreams
I get it was a joke but I gotta say it, they were getting out of a car at the beginning of Boulevard of Broken Dreams since the video took place right after Holiday
I know just a joke cus in thar video they mostly just walk
A name A name but he walks alone
L6tus walks alone in a group intensifies
Now they are the gods of suburbia
Neighbors were playing this in their backyard today
Sounded good
🤘

Ser adolescente en los 90s debió ser otra cosa. Caminar angustiado sintiendose rebelde escuchando punk rock 😂
Amo a Green Day. Son tan icónicos ❤
15 year olds discovering Green Day gives me LIFE. I'm 37 and they were one of the first bands I ever saw live. Legends. So dope to see kids enjoy this shit now that I'm an old fcker!
I LOVE THIS
Agreed..but im only almost 30 lol still feel ya we are not old until we are the big 50😉
@@SativaxDiva
Billie Joe Armstrong turned 50 last month !
Im 16 I like it because it describes the life around you
im 38. feeling the same ! :_D
I haven’t listened to Green Day in like 3 years this is bringing back a lot of memories
I haven't listened to Green Day in like 24 years this is bringing back a sh!tload of memories
I love how the bands of this time/genre didn’t look like they were trying too hard. They let the music speak for itself.
So true.
From Green Day to Weezer to Radiohead to Supergrass, they all had their own sound, not just a trend to follow!
I agree. Lots of them play with their straps on their guitars and basses super low but that's the only thing they really all do that was "trendy" or whatever at the time. unique sounds. anyone here know why the loosened straps became a thing?
@@rustyshackleford7661
James Hetfield and others had their guitars slung low(ish), so I guess it was a follow on from that.
@@mrdfk9410 interesting, thanks!
It's a Ramones thing. Both because the guitarist and bassist from the original Ramones lineup liked the way it looks but also bc it somewhat forces you to play more with your wrist when you're using a pick which can make it easier to do all downstrokes
It was all downhill from here for Greenday. Dookie was a masterpiece.
Hello..."American Idiot"?
I must admit.. none of their following albums captured that same feeling. You're right.
Its not about the year we are listening to this song, its about we are gonna listen to it forever
So true
Yea
Precisely.
This is not just some trend. Not just something that is in fashion right now and will be forgotten later.
This is music that you marry. The soundtrack for a life.
one day the everyone will come around too listien too this
I remember this was the first song I figured out on guitar by ear… Such exciting times. This was always one of my favorite songs as a kid and growing up it always hits home.
As a 14 yr old (almost 15) its impossible for me not to think mike and tre are the coolest people to ever exist.
love that you are listening to this at 14/15 when I was doing the same in the 90's! I was 14 in 1994.
@roisinmc7442 random question but what i guess you could call it audio device did most people use was it cassettes or vynils and where cds even around then? Also was the only way you could watch a music video was by waiting for mtv or did artists sell vhs tapes or something like that?
@@Basic079 it was both cassettes and cds then. cds were starting to really take over but cars still had cassette players in them and stereos in our houses had CD players and cassette players on them and of course we had vinyl too but it was less popular at that time. When out and about in the early mid 90s it was a walkman I listened to which was cassettes and then in the later 90's I replaced that with a personal CD player I carried around. So really it was mixture of both we used in the mid 90s. I was really into grunge! Yeah Mtv was how we saw music videos but I didn't have it in rural Northern Ireland!
@roisinmc7442 Ireland that's so cool! I've always wanted to travel there. I assume you didn't get to see it since you said you were in a rural part of Ireland but was their any chance you ever saw Nirvana's mtv unplugged live?
@Basic079 yes i did get to see nirvana unplugged. Not when it first came out but a while after! My older sister actually saw nirvana live in concert in belfast in 1992. She was 17. I'm still jealous of that!!! 😅
My life is incomplete without Greenday. Their music is therapeutic to my soul.
Im 16 and i remember my older brothers just blasting this into the whole house, god i miss the good old days ;')
What, two years ago?
Or four, maybe it was her fault. ❤️
25 years old and still a classic time piece.
I'm 17 and I'm from Russia. I love American punk rock. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the album Dookie. and no matter how sad it is, it’s 20 years since the death of Billy Joe’s father. Green Day are very cool and strong guys. love them and you❤🩹
Благодаря этой группе стал английский изучать...😊
❤🫂👍
Even after all these years, Green Day Rocks as one of the greatest ever!!!!
true that
Yes
We all come around
Are they still around these days
The saddest part of life is when the person who gave you the best memories becomes a memory
Wonder why you would call that the saddest. It's not, it's really interesting to think about, but not overwhelmingly sad.
@@Grey-sq7dy I've never been so offended by something I 100% agree with
Nostalgia. Great song.
I’m nine and I love Green Day I have been listening to them for like two weeks and I think there great
Feels like it was only a short time ago when it was frequently played on MTV. It had a very good vibe to it, still has...
Listening to this song again remind me a lot of my good old days when i was younger. Im 32 now a father of 2 . Man time flies so fast. 🥲
**~Lyircs~**
Verse 1]
I heard you crying loud
All the way across town
You've been searching for that someone
And it's me out on the prowl
As you sit around feeling sorry for yourself
[Verse 2]
Well, don't get lonely now
And dry your whining eyes
I'm just roamin' for the moment
Sleazin' my backyard, so don't get
So uptight, you've been thinking about ditching me
[Chorus]
No time to search the world around
‘Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
[Verse 3]
I heard it all before
So don't knock down my door
I'm a loser and a user
So I don't need no accuser
To try and slag me down
Because I know you're right
[Verse 4]
So go do what you like
Make sure you do it wise
You may find out that your self-doubt
Means nothing was ever there
You can't go forcing something if it's just not right
[Chorus]
No time to search the world around
‘Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
[Outro]
No time to search the world around
‘Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
When I come around
When I come around
When I come around
This brings me back to my childhood
I remember hearing this song on the way to the motocross track and it forever brings me back to that time period
Great memories
I don’t think any song has ever made me burst into tears like this has because every time I hear it I just feel down
And no this isn’t because I hate the song it’s just it came on the radio a lot And oddly came on after I had a very emotionally horrible moment if that makes any sense
@@Notrayquazagotdripi remember the same thing but with a song from minecraft lol
To this day, When I Come Around, has one of the best bass lines ever.
James Felton Stolen "dżem - wehikuł czasu" . Sorry.
True but me favourite is Longview
When I hear younger kids say I love stuff like, green day, nirvana, ac/DC Metallica it makes me proud. I really grew up in the best Era of music. Glad ya'll enjoy it
Decades later this music & song is still sooooo good & Green Day clearly stands the test of time since mainstream music is finally getting this kind of guitar driven style back into songs.
this isn`t just a music,its all memories.im cried....guys nostalgic mood.damn!! all those years
This song is like a time capsule back to my youth .
Still one of the greatest riffs I've ever heard in my life
nothing like good ol' 90's jamz
It was great watching them mature as a group and to grow up with them in a remote way. Glad to see they didn’t just burn out like the trend is for ‘punk’ bands, and they continued to write meaningful music. That depth is lost when pigeonholing bands in to genres, and stupid, childish comments about ‘they’re not punk’ get written on the internet. Greenway was able to grow (up), and make it out of their own adolescence, and I hope the same for our children.
You're drunk. Greenday is great. Always was, they evolved. I still preferably listen to older greenday because its still the best greenday.
1:22 "I'm a loser and a user, so I don't need no accuser, to try and slag me down because I know you're right." is the most relatable and depressing lyric I have ever heard, because I personally relate to it and also because I can kinda tell how he felt writing it
I was 24 when this came out, wow....I'm 53 now, where did the time go???? I always did like Greenday. 😊
Hi I recommend an indie rock song called 'looking into the mirror' By Robert Nix
Thanks Red Skies, I'll definitely check them out.
I just added Looking In The Mirror to my liked songs in Spotify. It's kind of psychedelic, if I may.
@@robertawheatley6896 Glad you liked the recommendation Roberta.
Thanks Red Skies.
This song gives me nostalgia for things I've never experienced
