Wait-- is she even a Modern Exclusive character? Can't you have her cross-over and become friends with Mighty, Ray and/or Trip? 39:31 - Can you think of ANY franchises where "game world meets real one" adaptations are THE ideal? The trend seems to throw acid in any fandom's Roman Bathhouse. (Jumanji movie came first. Digimon anime/manga cheats by being an ouroboros where that already is the V-Pet lore.) 41:28 - Pac-Man's been relegated to weird platformers, arcade compilations, and cameos for far too long, always saying that the "Pac is back" but never quite reaching his old heights, and Bandai Namco are having none of it! The Titanic question makes me think of the Futurama episode where Bender fills Rose's role. The minute he loses his paramour he's crushed but then IMMEDIATELY gets the necklace graded to see how much it would sell for.
8:55 - Honestly Ian, you brought it upon yourself. IDW talked about killing villains waaaaay too much. Issue #6 was fine. And #19 would be weird if Shadow didn't brought it up. I would make Adventure Time clone, staring him. Something wiiiiild, which makes Pac a anchor of stability. If I wanted to keep something from Old Lore, it would be Pac Family. That's one unique trait Pac-man has: he has a wife and kids, he's a family man. Even the newest cartoon was revealed to be about Junior, at the end he finds his dad, OG Pac-man.
@@Dosborreguitosssss Yeah, but by constantly bringing it up, Flynn made sure that fans will keep asking that question as well. I've been with Sonic since around 2012. Question of killing Eggman was rarely brought up till IDW.
@@metalskulkbanepl161 yeah that's right, i love Ian, i think he has a great view of the characters and their motives, and while i'm sure he isn't the first to brought up this grimmer side of Sonic lore, i think he has been very vocal, and of course the fandom likes that, i don't get how could he get tired, the whole thing of "offing the villians, so we are finally at peace" was part of a very crucial moment in the metal virus saga, but well
@metalskulkbanepl161 I feel like there's a valid conversation to be had here. But it's more of a "if other characters feel so strongly about this, then why aren't they going after the villains more?" And the official answer would probably involve Sonic having so much plot armor that it includes his enemies because otherwise, would he have anything to do in an adventure?
I was inspired by that one episode of Teen Titans where everyone tries on Robin's costumes while he's out. “The Quest”, I think it's called. I don't know how to feel about it, that of all my questions, this is the one that gets a thumbnail.
Dark Mobius was essentially a what-if story and timeline divergence where Knuckles took matters into his own hands and embraced Enerjak. If you were to make another what-if story revolving around a similar concept of a character making a different decision, who and what would it be? Would it be about Silver, growing embittered over being trapped in the past and Sonic belittling him and calling him a "flake"? Would it be Sally finally snapping under pressure? Go wild on this.
I'd vote ChiChi. Because just surviving being around her immediate family has maybe made her an OP tank? Amy has more actual combst experience though, huh? So she would put up a respectable effort and it could go either way.
You did no wrong @System509. It's just that some concepts have been run into the ground(such as Sonic killing his enemies), and Ian has been doing this for a long time, so he's tired.
About the Underground. It could just be in my sphere of influence, but I think most Underground fans are a bit outside the Sonic fandom, so although any acknowledgment would be appreciated, if they aren't siblings most of them won't understand the whole Sega mandates thing, and will think the show is made by people who never watched the original. I could be totally wrong here, but everyone I know who watched only Underground (and not SatAM or Adv. of) is currently in anime fandoms, which don't often have these weird legal/branding shenanigans Sonic does.
For me if Sonic ,Sonia and Manic aren't siblings we lost something . you don't sepacialy have to share your blood with someone to feel close ennuf to consider like family .This is Sonic Frontiers massage . Underground message could also be about family in very differents way . Sometimes in a family even if they love each other this is always easy to find our place . Specialy when you have siblings with same age or a close age as you. And sometimes peoples around them or the parents are compare the kids we each other. "You should be more like your brother or your sister" or "You are Sonic's Brother you must be as fast as him." Yes they are a family, they sherd de same blood and they love each others but over all they still differents characters différent point of vue and differents sensitivity . Of course they not gonna be agree on everyting. Before Sonic, Sonia and Manic met each other they all had differents lives . So if they still want to work together they have to learn to undersand each other. This is not sometings that we could do with Tails and Knuckles.
@Darling_draw I totally agree, and that kind of story has potential. It's like a more dramatic take on the Sonic and Tails brother dynamic. What I'm saying is just that this kind of reinterpretation reboot wouldn't appeal to old underground fans like how it would if applied to SatAM, X, Boom, etc.
@@AlecMac It's true Sonic underground look out on the sonic franchise but . i am a hadcore sonic fan and most of underground is build around differents Sonic concept mix with each others. Like the old concept of Sonic is a member of a band Sonia probably take her inspiration from Sister Sonic a game that is never came out. Manic is probable green because of the ashura bug. Mix with the SaTam royalty stuf Queen Aleena have the mystical vibe of Sonic that japonaise gave him like he is a force of nature. With some french royalty influence. The fact Aleena means Bearere of light is directly reference the french king Louis xiv also know as "Le roi Soleil" (the sun king) Plus the imprerial japonaise family who have link with the godness Amaterasu who is also the godness of the sun. Japonaise Sonic is more like a kami. The godness Amaterasu is like a okami Queen Aleena is more rte like gardien angel for her kids . She always apear form nowhere and save her kids when they are in danger. Save them and deceprear like she came. + Sonic have a little Japonaise Sister name Tania\Anita un the manga. So the idea Sonic having sibling dosen't came from nowhere same for the American Sonic bible. This details make love Underground evan more . On the surface we can say Underground dosen't have anything "Sonic" but it's not true.
@Darling_draw Hmm. That's a good case you have there. I wouldn't immediately make those Japanese to American parallels since Sega was so split up at the time, but hey, it sounds convincing enough. Since Underground released in 1999, it does match up with when SoJ started having more influence on SoA, however to my knowledge, it was pitced by SoA to gain interest in Sega and the Dreamcast. All of that aside, a Sonic Underground reboot has a lot of potential, but the harder it skews from the source material, the less chance it may have at regaining its following. Regardless, I'd be open to a reboot. Don't get me wrong. And Sega acknowledging the old DiC cartoons in any capacity would be an absolute treat.
To be honest, I had originally wanted to word my question in a "sonic does a fake out kill" way, or something like that so it wouldn't have been as pointlessly dark, but it would've involved mentioning a superman comic I wasn't sure if either of you were familiar with. I did think about asking if either of you were, but if it turned out neither of you knew about it, I would've had to been all "oh, ok, so here's the main twist of the story, hope you werent interested in reading it yourself", and that would've been rude. ...I want the record to show that when you get to the eventual dumb shipping question I got lined up, you’ll know it when you get to it, trust me, it was put in last month, so it wasn't a retaliation.
How would Sonic X play out if Trip, Fang, Metal Sonic and Sage were part of the series? Trip being part of Team Sonic, Metal Sonic and Sage with Eggman and Fang being a stand alone villain. How does Chris, Chuck, Ella, Tanaka, Sam and Topaz view those four?
Fang and Metal Sonic are pretty easy. Fang could be inserted from episode 1 as Eggman's snarky underling who kidnapped Cream. From that point he just works with Eggman, Rouge and Shadow throughout the series as a semi-competent baddie who takes a lot of pratfalls but is never "destroyed". Of the characters you mentioned, the only one he might interact with is Topaz-- well, I suppose Chris when he gets kidnapped. Metal Sonic could be Eggman's ultimate robot during Season 1, come back as part of the tournament in Season 2 and then just be a fixture on Eggman's ship in Season 3. But Metal Sonic is characterized by being mute and, within the series, Shadow basically replaces him as the "evil Sonic" and has more character reducing Metal Sonic's signifigance. The only feasible role for Sage is to replace Bokkun-- but then it would feel weird to see Eggman's 6-year old daughter getting blown up and hurt the way Bokkun was after delivering his messages. Trip would be really, really hard to include as she is kind of a fusion between Cream and Knuckles. Furthermore, we never get any episodes that really explore Sonic's primary world. We spend the first two seasons in the human world and then in Season 3 they immediately go straight to space. To include Trip feels like it would need to have some episodes that properly take place in Sonic's world.
@@TheHobgoblyn I kind of figured Fang would be an independent villain unless Eggman hires him for a job. Metal Sonic and Sage would be like their game counterparts as Eggman's prized creations and surrogate kids as he dotes on them. Sage doesn't need to replace Bokkun, nor do I imagine her getting blown up. Sage can even be a good foil to Chris in regards to their family. I don't see how Trip would be hard to include. Personality wise, Trip is different from Cream and Knuckles. I always found Trip to be a good inclusion in the series and it would be nice to get more of her in the IDW Series or a future game.
@@93SuperSonic Well, there are only so many storylines you can have going on in the season-- although, having watched it, so much of Sonic X episodes feel like dead-space that were just being filled out with nothing to reach episode length. Anyway, characters do need to be grouped together and it would be best to stick Fang as just being a supporting character for Eggman, Rogue and Shadow and get whatever more out of them we can by giving them someone else to interact with. Metal Sonic being the end-game anti-Sonic robot is perfectly fine, but once Shadow shows up that position pretty much gets usurped because he is loyal to Eggman through all of Sonic X and he is better than a mute robot. And Trip is a new character so at this point she doesn't have a whole lot of personality. We can surmise that she got somewhat forced to work with Eggman, she had a crush on Fang but he never returned her feelings. She always disliked Eggman. But ultimately she made friends with Amy and pals and when she tried to stop Fang from fighting them, he attacked her and she finally lashed out at him. But that's about 1 episode worth of story.
the questions that are like, "hey let's make this character not their character and have them willing to COMMIT MURDER FOR THE GREATER GOOD!!!" are so funny to me because, like, isn't that just shadow?? Like isn't Shadow the Sonic character that's willing to take a life or something and has a slightly different moral stance than Sonic making him more funnily enough edgy causing them to clash from doing things differently but ultimately respect each other since they have similar goals? like just go enjoy shadow the hedgehog instead of trying to get edgy questions out of the poor writer on his podcast☠
If you adapted Paw Patrol into a Comic book for IDW will it include Spy gear toys that appears in Ryder's room due to Spy gear and Paw Patrol toys being made by Spin master?
I tried to be too entertaining in my question. Most of the time was spent on debating whether "Feels the Rabbit" was a legitimate name and the real point of "Can she appear in IDW Classic Sonic stories so there are more characters to work with?" was entirely ignored.
I have a question for you Ian, 'Eggman manages to lure Tails, by giving him false alarm of danger, into an area where he manages to trap Tails and knock him out. He puts him as his captive, tortures him and brainwashes Tails's memories, and he becomes his assistant.(just like Eggman wanted in Sonic frontiers, where he had mentioned in his egg memos that he would have liked Tails as his assistant if he wouldn't have been friends with Sonic) Sonic who was busy on some other adventure and later came to know about Tails captivity. Dr Eggman knows that sooner or later Sonic will come and has already made plans for him with the help of Tails. How does Sonic react to Tails's captivity and how does the later confrontation pan out.'

Like the old concept of Sonic is a member of a band
Sonia probably take her inspiration from Sister Sonic a game that is never came out.
Manic is probable green because of the ashura bug.
Mix with the SaTam royalty stuf
Queen Aleena have the mystical vibe of Sonic that japonaise gave him like he is a force of nature.
The godness Amaterasu is like a okami
Queen Aleena is more rte like gardien angel for her kids .
The people who rote this story make resech of the histoiry of the franchise
Julie-Su would be jealous of Shade, remember how she kicked Rouge just because she was looking at Knuckles in a flirtatious way?
Shade: First Amy, now this. Why are these pink girls reacting so strangely?
Rouge will make shadow into the ultimate queen 😂
13:57 I think they already answered this question in an earlier one and he didn't answer it because it was too much of a fan idea.
Well hello there again make it more funny stories on Shadow now.
That's messed up.
8:55 Coward....😒
Also I'm betting that Sonic Prime was a "Knowing Frown"
