I know there is time-wimey wibbly-wobbly, but this seems a bit more clear cut, unless the official stance is that Iblis is still inside of her, which begs the question of how... how Ian... HOW?! Make it make sense!

21:01 - Originally, Sonics "fear" of water started out as just an inability to swim, But per I believe Sonic X, It was upgraded to a fear of water in GENERAL. I've always felt it would make more sense for Sonics fear of the ocean to be more of Orca's given the chase in Sonic Adventure (and I guess count 06 too even though those events didn't happen, But it's funnier to consider that canon.) If you were to explain Sonics fear of water, What'd you say? Would you keep it as a necessary fear of water? Or do you wanna try and bring it back to just an inability to swim more then a straight up fear?

If that’s the case why did you give those two sympathetic backstories and make them victims of Starline’s brainwashing? I don't think it's safe to say a story being enjoyable is enough to make it good, because otherwise Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" would be considered an *un*ironically good movie. But proper structure clearly isn't enough either, plenty of stories follow all the rules of what make a story good, but fail to hit the mark regardless. What are your thoughts?

Whenever Ian gets mad, even though I’m not the target, I can’t help but feel this crushing sense of shame. It just creates such an oppressive atmosphere when the funny Sonic man gets angry in general. Can’t say the people who are the target don’t deserve it though.
As someone who likes shipping, I always find it disgusting when people value their “oh so precious cartoon couple” over an actual human being who just happens to have a different opinion.
Shipping in sonic fandom is awful, i also ship some characters but for the fun and my personnal headcanon, nothing more.
Ian’s rant at the beginning is one of the main reasons why I feel the franchise is so adverse to romance in Sonic, at least in the games. Bad apples ruin the bunch I’m afraid. Some people just can’t be normal.
As Boom Sonic once said,

If anything this could be a contributing reason why sonamy isn't canon image if it did how would say the shadamy shippers feel. What do you think some of these people would do.
@@videon6134 yep. People already go crazy over their preferred romance now when nothing is cemented fully in canon lol. Imagine the shit show they’d have if they made any of them canon. From a business perspective and for safety reasons it’s best to not have it at all and maybe tease it every now and then like they’ve been doing.

Sonic Man doesn't even take off his normal hat when he puts on the new one. He just stacks them on top of his regular hat. And when he plays Sonic, he puts on a Sonic hat over a Sonic hat.
Before X, Sonic had a fear of water in Underground, so that's the first piece of animated media to show off that character quirk.

I adore the question that was more or less "What makes something good? Is it that it makes me happy? Clearly not because then this thing that makes me happy would be good, and yet despite my enjoyment of it a deem it to be 'lesser media'. Is 'good' something that is properly made? It can't be that either because even things that are made right aren't always good".
Idk, it's just really funny to me. "What is good? Here is a list of all that is good, I do not think this good is good, what makes good good?".
Is ironic enjoyment not still enjoyment at the end of the day? If I watched the worst movie ever made, but I enjoyed it, shouldn't that alone make it "good"? This question got me really thinking so I really liked it.
So, Ian, Tails bursts into the Bumble Office with blueprints for a new Tornado. The problem? The fox is suffering artist's block, and needs help with the exterior aesthetics, and who better to ask than the Bumbleking himself!?
In other words; if you could redesign the Tornado, how would you want it to look?
Ian will say he'd mess up the aerodynamics but honestly none of the technology makes sense anyway, so imo he'd do a moderately nice job.

Long-time viewer and avid collector of Scourge facts here! (Seriously, to whomever 'Scourgetime' is, you are literally my favorite person for encouraging our lovely hosts to talk about him on so many occasions lol)
It's been a while since there's been anything asked about the mean green man himself- I wanted to know, is there anything that can be said about Scourge and Zonic's dynamic? They have brief interactions across Archie doing typical 'cop and robber' shenanigans, but how does Zonic view this part of his job? Is Scourge just a thorn in his side that makes his job harder, or does he enjoy the challenge, and/or view Scourge as his greatest adversary? I've always wondered what would have happened if we got to see that final plan of Scourge's come to fruition, and if Zonic would swoop in to arrest them all in the end for old time's sake.
Not sure if this question will even be seen but it’s worth a shot.
Silver has to go back in time once again to save his future, only instead of ending up with the usual hedgehogs and mad scientists, he has to contend with saving his future from another kind of threat: Mavericks!
How would Silver interact with the Maverick Hunters (X, Zero, Axl, etc) and how might he take journeying alongside them in another attempt to bring down the rogue machine threat. Would be alarmed by the constant wars between machines, would he persevere like he would against the forces of Robotnik…and does he get just as sick of Sigma as the Maverick Hunters do?

I clicked on the video and I heard Ian’s introduction and immediately could tell something was bothering him. I’ve personally always stayed away from the shipping side of fandoms ever since I watched Star vs. as a kid on Disney XD and watched the shipping in that fandom end up devouring that show. I personally love Sonic but I’m not going to put this fictional character I like over REAL WORLD PEOPLE! Escapism can be a fun thing, but do not live in a fantasy world, and don’t hold your opinions as gospel, it’s closed minded and can be harmful to yourself and others. I probably did not NEED to say all this but I just want people that see this to avoid similar mistakes I made when I was in middle school, that was when the sequel Star Wars movies where coming out and I’ll admit I was very mean to anyone that liked those movies, now I just look back on my younger self and fell embarrassed, but I still wish I wasn’t so rude to people and listened to some pathetic people online who have nothing better to do in their life than argue and attack people on a fictitious property.

First of all, thank you for answering my question!
Second, to shippers. Look, I get it. I used to run an anti-shipping blog and there’s still ships I LOATHE that are super popular. But you know what I did? I left the community when I thought it was going too far and I had a blog where I told people not to cross tag into proshipping tags.
Step away from shipping. Volunteer, consume nonfiction content, hang out with friends outside of fandom. Or create something that’s appealing to your ship preference! Part of the reason I’m actually thinking of writing something I first came up with in 2015 is because I see the popular ships in books and I think “ugh, the male lead in my book is way better in my opinion.” But don’t send people nasty stuff over freaking fictional ships.
For the second question (Blaze having Iblis sealed inside of her) I thought it was inferred that, since Solaris was never created, then all of the events of the game never happened, including Blaze travelling to the future.
She never absorbed Iblis and died in the new timeline, basically.
While it would feel more logical to assume the events never happened, the Japanese descriptions for the game allude more to the idea the events happened but the characters all lost their memories instead. Blaze seals Iblis, returns to the Sol dimension, and forgets she went to the future. Maybe one day they’ll give a clearer explaination.
i am not even sure blaze of sonic the hedgehog 2006 is the same as sonic rush and no the end credits of the sonic the hedgehog 2006 video game is canon

Been wanting to ask this for a while, so here goes: Stargate x Sonic crossover! Not sure if either of you are familiar with the franchise, and if not, the main villains are the Goa'uld, which are parasitical snakes that take sentient beings (usually powerful and appealing ones) as hosts, making your eyes glow and giving you a deep voice, and pose as deities, forcing others to worship them. If they invaded Sonic's world, which characters are taken hosts? And how do the others fight off this menace? Do they team up with Ugly Sonic since he's too ugly to be considered as a host?
Honestly the beginning part of this video sums up JD Frank20 and Sonamy-Channel as people that take shipping in Sonic too far and spread toxicity over the smallest things. Even towards you Ian whenever you talk about Amy in a way they don’t like.

In Post SGW Archie, Naugus says that his people, the trolls, worshipped a dark god called Ixis. He even mistook Dark Gaia for it before his sister Wendy corrected him. I'm aware this might be something for Lost Hedgehog Tales, but I'm curious about who/what the hell Ixis actually is?
Ember Island Players Zone, but no Sonic Man. Let's say it's an adaptation of Sonic Origins, with some creative liberties taken to give non-Origins characters cameos(and not necessarily good ones. Shadow, for example, is portrayed as a Time Traveller created using DNA from a dead civilization on Little Planet, and Gerald and Eggman are one and the same). How do the actual characters react?
Actually, ad-on question: what other creative liberties do the Ember Island Players take to cram as many future story elements in their Sonic Origins adaption as possible?
My ideas:
Shadow replaces Metal Sonic in the CD adaptation, but Metal replaces both Mecha Sonics.
Silver is the hero of CD, not Sonic, mistaking Shadow for the Iblis Trigger.
Tangle shows up on Hilltop Zone.
Little Planet is ALSO Planet Wisp, so Whisper shows up too.
Rouge steals the Master Emerald from Hyper Sonic, turning the Knuckles Epilogue into an Adaptation of Sonic Adventure.
Each location has their own set of gems;
South Island: All 7 Chaos Emeralds
Little Planet: Time Stones
Westside Island: Master Emerald
Angel Island: Super Emeralds.
Knuckles hijacks the Death Egg and tries to destroy the world.
Blaze is the Guardian of the Master Emerald, not Knuckles.
Sage replaces Egg Robo.
I don’t know if either you guys will ever see this, but I have a question that I think might be fun.

Officially their relationship is described as a sibling one but depending on the writer they might kind of change that dynamic. I feel like stray siblings makes the most sense but it varies

It doesn’t state they are siblings anywhere in official. It states Blaze saw Silver like a younger brother in a bio for 2006 but that is probably obsolete since it is never brought up again anywhere else.
The reason some people ship them but you get a sibling vibe is because everyone has a different preference. Not all siblings have the same dynamic. Not all couples have the same dynamic either. In this series full of colorful cartoons animals they are all just friends.

The Freedom Fighters are made up of multiple resistance groups across their world with far more experience fighting Eggman/Robotnik, but the Restoration has better equipment in the form of shuttles and the aid of the Wisps along with other equipment we have in our modern day and beyond.

Technically it could make sense if Blaze still has Iblis inside of her, because she was sealed in a different dimension BEFORE the timeline was reset, so it COULD be possible.
Then again, I think something happened to Iblis when Blaze went to a different dimension, because Blaze doesn’t seem to show any signs of it.
Maybe Iblis was transformed into the Sol Emeralds?
