WHAT IS THIS VIDEO ALL ABOUT?
What makes an esports pro so great? Well, some would argue that it's their innate intelligence, the kind of intelligence that can be measured by IQ - that makes them excel in an academic setting, or cause them to impress others with their cognitive brilliance - of course, every competitive game requires a ton of brainpower. And so it makes sense that IQ can lead to better performance.
But does that mean that those with an average IQ are stuck being average players?...

@@eathletelabs thanks for being awesome, have a nice day :)

I love that you answer all people with different answers seven if it is the same comment!
Reading and responding to the feedback right after posting a video motivates me to put in the time and effort to make the next vid. I love the comments, and I love that you noticed this! :)
I’ve always noticed this how the players who seem to catch on fast and become the best at a new game eventually becomes irrelevant and people say “they fell off”
Interesting insight!
How smart do you need to be to become a pro gamer? - I get asked this question quite a bit, and I'm personally fascinated by the research that's trying to answer it. There is a lot of nuances to understanding how IQ interacts with your own skill mastery, and I hope this video provides a new perspective that motivates you guys and helps you build the right approach towards your own mastery!

How to practice gaming skills when your a high school student
Dude your video editing skill is insane:D
eAthlete Labs welp I have 147 iq yet I’m currently plat in ow, so doesn’t matter that much
Keep uploading your great work, looking forward for more of that
Hey, even if I'm struggling at school and having personal problems, gaming was the thing that I do to make me comfortable and I hope one day I will become an esport player, I've learned a lot on your video thank you...
Llhex Pasilan same
Heh, I have exact opposite - highly paid job, high degree and Im struggling in competetive games :-D :-D
Appreciate the quality of your videos, keep this up. One way to increase knowledge about any game I found to be helpful is to be curious and experiment with different elements of the game and learning the core aspects. Once you've mastered the key elements you apply your knowledge and developed skills in creative ways.
Glad you're a fan of the videos, the visual quality is all the work of our editor Bryan, if you get a chance, hop in the discord and give him a shout out, he'd love it! :)
Is it just me or did the last part just give me such a big boost of motivation to improve more on my gameplay
Very lazy attempt of TLDR: Strive to be like Naruto, not Neji
I'm sure many will relate!
I don't strive to be dead people 😂
Brah being like Naruto means you hack the fucking shit I think he is talking about being Lee
it's not like Neji didn't practice. He practiced as much as Naruto if not more.
I wanna be like Lee
I love your videos and I've been binge watching them for a few days now. I dont only apply your theories and talks to becoming a pro gamer, I'm applying it to other instances like becoming a streamer or being more successful in other careers. I think that being successful has a lot of similar points no matter what you are trying to do.
Your videos are helping a lot, so thanks man 👍
Thank you so much, iam inspired and filled with motivation right now 👌👌👍💕
Hell yea! That's the exact effect we were hoping for! :)
Always love watching your vids because I always feel inspired to be better after finishing watching them
Actually deep breathing helps. It improves blood flow, and oxygenize your brain making it energized
Nice video.
I've been thinking about this topic a lot, because I have a high IQ and like playing FPS games. But out of all my teammates I seem to struggle to most in games, even though I know the maps and the variables of the game better.
And what I've found, which isn't an end-all-be-all rule, is that I tend to overthink situations a lot more. I even give the opposing team more "credit" than they actually deserve. What I mean by that is that I expect situations that don't often seem to transpire. I set up for a complex maneuver in combat, but I end up getting killed by the simplest maneuver. If that makes any sense.
My friends, the people I play with, don't think about strategy as much. They just "flow". They play and focus on specific simple tasks, while I constantly overthink situations. I also unconsciously get bored with certain "easy" strategies and try to be creative too often, while they're perfectly content doing what needs to be done to win.
So I'm in no way claiming that this is exactly why lower IQ players do better, because they're "simple". But I do think that repetition of the same motion can be a problem for high IQ players because they have more trouble keeping their interest high, as opposed to players with lower IQ that don't even register that "problem".
Does that make sense to anyone?
Keep going ! You are doing grat job. Im already almost semi-pro.In few months going to first lan!Your tips mean a lot for me Thanks

Yes, to grow and stay relevant in the long run you have to be smart and know the business mindset. This can apply to any form of entrepreneurship.
I never realised that a lot of tendency's i took for granted were actually based on my IQ. A lot of stuff has been explained to me, even beyond gaming. Great video!
So glad you got some value from the vid! :)
@Duded Dude i wasn't bragging. I don't think i have no right to comment on legitimate things without the intent to show off just because it mentions a 'good' thing about me thank you very much, no reason to brag over a natural uncontrollable feature anyway
@Duded Dude Yes it is 'Very Cool'
Been waiting on vids TY❤️😗
Hope it was worth the wait!
I'm currently bronze in Overwatch. And for years I couldn't climb up because of my PC and I also wanted to record my progress on my channel. I've been dreaming of becoming a pro since years. Now that I have a new PC, I feel like I can become of these players and that one day, it will happen, I believe it will. Which is why I really love your channel, so thank you, and keep up the good work ;)
Can you make a serie where you interview and break-down how some pro practice!
I’ve had this question for so long THANK YOU
No problem!!
I wish I could devote my time to training someone or managing their practise sessions. I'm not a gamer, but I love optimizing systems, like giving suggestions.
Consider the coaching/analysis side of esports
Woah❤️best line "that turns average players into pros" best🔥
Yes! Thank you. Happy 4th of July
Right in time for the celebration!
Really awesome video!!!!..I have a question. What if someone has the same fire of getting better at a game like us and he practices the same amount of time and with equal interest like us how do we control our jealousy or competetiveness so that we dont spend most of our time in thinking about him and not concentrating on our own gameplay?.Plz make a video in this too.
Awesome video as always
Loved the video can you upload every week men because the videos are so good!
I’m playing PUBG mobile and when I did started I couldn’t play properly and like pro but after learning and seeing in my games and experience they are now natural for me. Thanks for the video men ! Can you upload every week?
I love making these videos, and being able to focus on it full time is a dream. Unfortunately, it's not a reality right now. Hopefully, as the channel grows we'll be able to spend more time creating videos for you! :)

Hey great vid!
What I always do when there is 0 chance of winning, such as 1 v 4 , do something no one expects, circle the map away from the site where you planted, instead of defending go hunting, no one expects it, I actually tried it and it works like 1/5 times, that may not be a lot but if u hold a site against 4 players you will just get raped and have 0 chance
Sir...i found ur channel so late..but finally i found it out....and i really Love all of ur videos...wish u get over million subs...

Good Video!
I love your videos, but I was wondering, you show a lot of games for gaming PCs, but would you say that these strategies work for games like clash Royale?

Genetics no one is bragging I’m only saying that I’m still not good at the game
Thanks bro
One of the most motivating and inspirational videos about gaming I've ever seen. Kudos for that, my man.
Yes he's back
Thank you
Would the eathlete supplement help you use the skills you already know in a smarter way or what?
There's some research that shows some of the ingredients may lead to better processing speed, which would translate to executing previously learned skill more effectively. But some other research on the ingredients l-theanine and ginkgo Biloba also show enhancement in BDNF which is associated with learning capabilities, so it may also help with learning new skills.
This just become my motivational talk, I had 15 year gap from gaming due to a 🧙♀️ telling me it was unimportant to me! I’m just on the road to full recovery from my mental health and set up my channel while very mentally unwell thinking I was a pro as was best at gaming from where I’m from back in the day and was my fav childhood toy! I’m not stupid Troops, I know I’m a Noob now and my nephew idolises me and loves that I’m going to be a streamer! Gonna roll wae my gaming Being Form Of Therapy until fully fit and healthy again, then I’m going to find out if I can be great at gaming again!

Bro I just got in pc esport game can u tell me how to be atleast to be a great player ( i play r6) btw my IQ 126
How do I discipline myself????????????
New vid leets go
Hell yea!
The problem i am facing is after a decent gap , i feel stucked to go that next lvl :( coz there is no blueprint :(
A lot of the time you need to create your own blueprint - setting small goals every week and working towards them constantly! :)
Im about to get Eadvantage to Malaysia.
So if I use eadvantage and I have 90% aim I will get 180% aim?
Pretty much a distinction between theory and practice.
True, I have high degree and I have highly payed "brain worker", but I sucks at the Heroes of The Storm (Bronze 4-5). I understand math, science, complex algorithms, I learn new things fast. But I really sucks at high rate fast games.
Hard work beats talent.
i got dull iq, when comes to FPS games i can aim and have a decent reflex. but when comes to decisions making i sometimes messed up
Make a vid about effective practice
Well. Hard work beats talent (in this case also intelligence) when talent fails to work hard.
But if you have an intelligent, talented hard working person then you have a god.
Question.How do u practice properly?
Different for every game, but I'm hoping we can cover this a bit more in a future vid!
Love this video! For anyone that has any questions about iq, ask me! I am a huge iq nerd
Guys at the end of the day, i believe talents plays a part too. Some peple are just gifted in gaming
Having high iq is a talent since you were gifted with smartness.
There's always a role for genetics, although I'm not sure we can pinpoint exactly what genes will make someone better at competitive gaming. With future research, I hope we get to collectively learn more about the exact role that different genetics play when it comes to cognitive skill!
Yes, some people are focused how to beat and outsmart others. Others are focused how to achieve goals good for everyone - clearly in games, someone must loose. And for example me, I dont like to beat someone down. So my brain just does not come with those ideas. I like helping others, helping machines to be more productive, so thats why Im doing IT and my brain likes to come with those ideas.
In my opinion, you should just improve your gamesense. Like when someone hides, you need to know if they will peak out again or flank you.
Best professional chess players of all time e.g. Bobby Fischer, Magnus Carlson, etc., have all had exceptionally high IQ's, beyond 1/1,000 in terms of rarity. This is just impossible to ignore really.
but not every game needs as much brainpower as chess. i mean when you think about it, outplaying the enemy is all there is in chess, you dont have to have "better mechanics" better aim etc. But when it comes to other games, like football, or esports, other things, like reaction times, consistant aim, etc. are becoming way more importand, while pure "brainpower" might give you a certain advantage, but nothing that you cant overcome on other ways.
Why is this so underrated plz tell me
what about rhythm games?
Guys if you ever feels sad about your IQ and think it’s holding you back from going pro or becoming insane at a game just remember *Dafran*
xQc
@@ron3799 xQc talks like an idiot for entertainment but I'd be shocked if his IQ was less than 120. He is smart.
I have an IQ of like 85 or 90 but I'm a pro gamer and my memory is perfectly fine I'm very good at memorizing all the ins and outs of games and I was diagnosed by a dr with a learning disability witch is why I have mostly competed in special Olympics but I'm a very good and skilled gamer because I worked hard to get to where I am in video games it is kind of hard but first of all that's because I'm moving up and going from competing against people with disabilities and instead competing against people with master skills so its just really stress its not so much disability and it's making up enough time to put into the gaming I don't think IQ matters that much at all you just got to work your but off and beleive in your self it's hard for everyone but it takes alot of time patients hard work dedication commitment and many more I don't think IQ has much or if nothing at all to do with it maybe a little tiny fraction but know I don't think by much at all
I snorted eadvantage and felt good for about 15 mins before i started feeling like i was sick. Like a flu or something lol.
The only thing I think about when I watch your videos is what if every pro watches this. Better players than me will become better and I will be as well. But I won't surpass them as they are learning the same thing... Idk
We'll keep the channel a secret so they don't find it ;)
@@eathletelabs hope so and want so, but what if eSports will be really big and videos like these will be released more and more. And I'm pretty sure you want to sell your merchandise as I saw in the video. To succeed that you need more and more people to view this. Right? Idk. I'm happy I came across your UA-cam channel when it's smaller but I also want you to succeed but at the same time I want this to be a secret. I don't even know anymore lol
Nice video
Glad you liked it! :)
When the next video?????

can you study the effect of orthotropics on gaming?
GallowBoob
Do u mean nootropics
Jake shanks No I don’t. I mean orthotropics.
Interesting idea! Adding it to the list!
what does that have to do with gaming
Ibrahim i don’t know, that’s why i asked him to study it.
to become Gamer You need excellent FPS of game then practice
Shit this was motivating
You have to build the your own pc
nice
Watching this with a high IQ kinda gives me very mixed feelings.
Hope it provided a little perspective for your approach towards playing and maintaining good practice habits rather than letting complacency slip in!
x2, i have 130 iq and its weird becouse it identifies me
@@LagartoChicloso Nice man, I got 135.
Well, high IQ will not help you to be pro gamer, but it will help you to earn a lots of money. Gamers are usualy not that ritch.
Upload more your a god
see you at tomorrow's upload!
"Science doesn't lie right". Except its not that simple, in fact if you do research you would know that it is important to criticise papers as the way they collect data or the analysis of it can be flawed. And saying that, it would really help if you gave a link to the study.
There are people that are very effective and intelligent, but they are slow, a fact that make them average in games that require a low reaction time.
Exactly me. And my friend is IT guru, very successful, but also worst HOTS player I have ever seen :-D
So if I have high IQ I'm at disadvantage?
Any known IQ scores for pro players?
@Dragos Andrei Pintilie The average of pro players is 115-120.
Finally! the king of speech is here!
Woah, what a title! Hope I live up to it with this vid ;)

Your skill in esports games correlates with your intelligence. We can therefore potentially use visuospatial IQ tests to find gifted esports players from a young age, even before they play the games.
So higher your iq, better your ganeplay.
