The point in which mind and controller blend together as you say during The Lost Sinner fight actually has a name. Its called the Flow State and ironically enough its really what ultra instinct is based on. Its most often recognized in sports but it can happen during gaming as well. There is a video by Radai released a few weeks ago showcasing Fume knight's hitboxes (And they are suprisingly consistent, albeit a bit wacky). But watching that video helped me a lot recently with my sl1 no stat boosting gear run.
Oh wow, I went and watched that and his arms are hitboxes???? WTF??? That is so weird. Also now I can see why dodging right in his second phase is so much safer, because if you dodge left, even if you dodge the sword, you'll get hit by the hitboxes on his arms. That is so strange. Why would his arms have hitboxes? And that also explains why you can get hit when behind him during certain attacks. Also, the hitbox of his sword is a cylinder. That's why it's larger than the sword itself. Same applies to the smelter demon I suppose.
@@PressContinue If i am not wrong, cylinder hitboxes are the standard for all dark souls games (and probably all Fromsoft games), it's just that they are much bigger in ds2 and there are less of them (One big hitbox rather than multiple smaller hitboxes), here's a video of midir's hitboxes from ds3: ua-cam.com/video/xB_X2Aw-_e8/v-deo.html. But yeah, the arm hitbox is weird. I think it was supposed to stop you from getting too close and getting away with touching his arms rather than his sword but those are way too big.

Dks2 holds a special place in my soul. So much more fun at sl1 than dks1. I haven't done a sl1 in dks3. I started and got to Aldrich but never finished it. Nice video!
Love challenge videos and I really love Ds2, this was just amazing, maximum respect sir. Ps: You could've parried some enemies with bare hand. Ps2: You can bait fume AI to not enter second phase using consumables
As shown in the video you can still parry with a shield even when you don't have the stats. But I never parry in this game to begin with, because it's barely ever beneficial. And yeah lots of people said that about fume in the stream, same for veldstadt's helmet. But nah, Fume has 2 phases so I didn't want to circumvent having to deal with either one.
So excited to watch this!! Absolutely love your content and seen every single video., always looking forward to the next one. 58:32 We don't deny it, it's just insane how much ds2 alone gets clowned on for hitboxes when it's literally every game in the series that has bad hitboxes
@@peenyyt4921 Nameless King has bad hitboxes and bad hitbox animations but the rest of DS3 is mostly okay, and Astel's grabs are definitely messed up. But I mostly agree with how Elden Ring's hitboxes are. They feel tight for most normal enemies and bosses.

Fucking dream theater is the last thing i would have expected to hear on a dark souls challenge video. Good shit, my man
First time viewer here. This is the balls-to-the-wall, hardcore, drinking warm milk for fun type of DS run I’ve been looking for. Entertaining as all hell. Liked, subscribed and laughed a lot. 10/10
26:56 when you gave us the "press continue" experience, i thought i wasnt wearing my glasses, cause i just came back to the pc. very realistic experience, 10/10
This is great. I love this game despite its flaws. I rarely like or subscribe to much anymore, but you earned both and deserve much more. Keep it up
yo that lost sinner fight was insanely good, gave me chills
Awesome to see how this turned out, I feel like it was years in the making.
Well the idea itself has been there ever since the game was first released. So it's surprising it took this long for it to actually happen
Anyone realize that all his stats are at one, and he quotes a Metalica song at the beginning of the video. CALLED ONE.
"Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell" The song is supposably about solider who lost his limbs eyes mouth ears ext. From a landmine in a state of living death.
First time I've heard the alternate names for the Throne knights. Literally laughed out load at those.
"Bimmy and Jimmy" is no slouch either
Love the SOAD reference in the Freya fight, one of my favorite songs as well
God your patience is legendary
Wasn't expecting dream theater in a random Dark Souls video
The point in which mind and controller blend together as you say during The Lost Sinner fight actually has a name. Its called the Flow State and ironically enough its really what ultra instinct is based on. Its most often recognized in sports but it can happen during gaming as well. Its a point at which skill meets challenge and you no longer need to think, you simply do. Once you realize youre in the Flow Stats, youll pull yourself out of it.
One of the craziest challenge runs of ds2 I ve seen
Congrats my guy, you have officially earned a quintaple chad chin after beating the game under such restrictions :D
Jesus you are better at dodging with no i frames than I am with a ton of em. Absolutely amazing run
This is the backstory of how Virgil escaped the demon world while lacking all his power
easily my favorite intro of yours, I’ve come back like 15 times in the span of 7 days 😭
Oh oh een paard in de gang. But yeah, it was the "vind ik niet leuk" for me 😂 this run must've been so painful dude, good job, great video!
That metallica improvision. I subscribed. I hope landmine hasn't taken your sight, your speech, your heaven, your arms, and your legs.
Aaah You’re finally at true level one an inhuman run with 1 adp
love your commentary dude, the puns are awesome and the word plays make the video very entertaining to watch ^^
I have been so excited for this run!!!! Love your content, and love DS2!
Press Continue, the modern day Gladiator of the Great Colosseum! We are proud to be your loyal subjects for these unique and creative runs. Your suffering does not go without thanks sir!
This game was a pain. Was different than the other darks souls but had a little charm thinking of playing it again.
Honestly, I really enjoy ds2. It has some jank, there is no point in denying that. But it and bloodborne are the only from games I feel the urge to retry. I also think the story is the best of the trilogy
Lol now that you mention it while bloodborne is my fav and ds2 i always say i love and hate, ds2 is the one of the souls i think of most (of 1 2 and 3)
Beautiful work. Thank you.
There are very few youtubers where I would watch over a 1 hour video but Press Continue is definitely one of them
1:03:30
Those guys can send their bow into the air and shoot you from there. Essentially a very high shoot. So he most likely did not shoot you through the wall, but instead over it.
And I thought normal DS2 was slow. This run is a nightmare. You've got some massive balls my man
the hardest challenge i did - sl1 on ng+, but this seems even more painful
u r a madlad. i played level 1 run and wanted to gouge my eyes out. this is just crazy you earned my respect
When I first fought the poison boss I didn’t know you could get rid of the poison so I had killed her with a full poison arena it was miserable
Yeah it was the same for me on my first playthrough. I mean, who would have guessed that you could burn the windmill
Lmao my man just quoted metallica lyrics for his intro this will be a good video.
38:38 you can easilly avoid this by just walking, not even running, walking forward and right to strafe it, as a wise man once said, if the roll doesn't work, then don't roll
Amazing vid man! Love your humor, knowledge, and explanations on this run!
i love how when the footage is sped up the estus animation looks like its moving at normal speed
Impressive work my friend, btw for that Lost Sinner part, it's called skill my friend, you are really good! Keep it up the great work!
Oh wow, in the ambush room my first blind playthrough I had done that trick to keep the doors open. I didn't actually know that was what happened until now, thanks to this video :)
this must’ve been hell to do
It was quite frustrating, yes.
Literally everything about this video is wonderful.
43:50. I'm not from the Netherlands, but from Germany. And there actually IS a German version of this carnival song (Da steht ein Pferd auf'm Flur). Ha, didn't know this but it's quite funny! ^^
Really enjoying your runs btw. You suffer for us so we don't have to... thanks bro :)
There's a german version? I had no idea you guys even knew about carnaval in the first place
@@PressContinue Yeah, I'm from Mönchengladbach, which is not too far from Venlo. Carneval is kinda big there! But it's even bigger in Cologne. ^^
bro really made a metallica reference, 10/10 video
Dks2 holds a special place in my soul. So much more fun at sl1 than dks1. I haven't done a sl1 in dks3. I started and got to Aldrich but never finished it. Nice video!
This man literally just videotaped footage of hell and showed it to us.
and im proud of just completing souls games
Dude I absolutely love all your classic rock/metal references. So fucking metal.
Love the Dream Theater drop during the intro!
So excited to watch this!! Absolutely love your content and seen every single video., always looking forward to the next one. You deserve a million subs and I hope you will finally get the attention your runs deserve. Even though I personally do not enjoy DS2 myself you make it fascinating. Thank you for going through that agony for our entertainment, haha! Mega respect for all you do!
Edit: I thought it was impossible for me to like you even more and then you hit me with Dream Theater and references to other amazing bands, haha. You absolute legend
That Dream Theater Intro... Awesome video and nods to legendary songs (laughed hard at the "One" lyrics)
58:32 We don't deny it, it's just insane how much ds2 alone gets clowned on for hitboxes when it's literally every game in the series that has bad hitboxes
I think two is the most egregious example.
And honestly, 1 didn't do all bad. At least not by the time I played prepare to die.
DS3 and ER both have good hitboxes
@@peenyyt4921 Nameless King has bad hitboxes and bad hitbox animations but the rest of DS3 is mostly okay, and Astel's grabs are definitely messed up. But I mostly agree with how Elden Ring's hitboxes are. They feel tight for most normal enemies and bosses.
@@Hahvayz NK's hitboxes are sort of trash yeah
