I made this over the weekend. It was time consuming, it feels like I was in the kitchen most of the day. That said, it was in every way superior to the ricotta-based lasagna I grew up eating. Next time I may go a little harder on the nutmeg in the bechamel - while it was perfect in the mac and cheese, I felt it maybe got lost a little when mixing with the flavors of the bolognese. That said, this one of my favorite things I've ever made, and the family was absolutely impressed.

Chef,, You're killing me. I just started working out and dieting to lose my Covid weight gain and thought that next month, I, 'll make lasagna and cheat. I haven't looked at your bechamel recipe yet but I'm thinking it is a Motzerrela bechamel, I never made that with mozzarella, only with cheddar when making American Mac and cheese.. My Boligenise always has sliced sausage in it, And I use Ricotta as well as spinach. I will intensify my efforts so that I can get closer to that cheese sauce on a lasagna. Or I Can just make it and take it to my friend's house Sunday and feed their family and take home the leftovers.... I'm hungry.
I made this last night. Absolutely the best lasagne I ever ate! You said you like reading our comments. Grab a glass of good wine and read away because we love you too. I've been cooking for most of my adult life - mostly after I finished my time with the USNavy (they always feed us!), but Chef Pierre opened up my world to cooking fantastic food. A huge thank you for what you show us. Its invaluable information. ❤
Friend, you drink your wine. This is not a Disney movie. It's a great cooking show by a guy with knowledge, character and a delicious sense of humor. I will make this one day when I have a lot of time. Doesn't matter, though. I just like watching the videos because even if I don't cook the particular dish, I always pick up some great, useful cooking tips. You obviously love what you do and it is infectious!
That’s such a great way to put it. He is infectious. Just a few weeks watching this channel and I’m brainwashed. I’m putting more budder in everything I make 😂 I’ve always liked budder, but now I absolutely love my budder. This man is such a wonderful teacher! And I’m pretty sure I’m going to call it budder for the rest of my life. And onyo. Definitely sticking with onyo!

Every word that comes out of your mouth is interesting and filled with knowledge. Every time I watch your video, it makes my day brighter. May you live a long, healthy and happy life.
I discovered his channel when I was on an abdominal feeding tube for 4 months! Couldn't even have ice chips. My daughter would ask me why I tortured myself. I told her these are dishes I'm cooking when I'm off this thing! The first thing I made was his easy peasy delicious hollandaise sauce.
"If they complain there's too much cheese, don't invite them again". Chef, I'm having that quote framed and put in my kitchen. Amazing work as always - bravo.

@Chef Jean-Pierre thank you for spending the time to show us the overnight part, the reheating of the lasagna, and the final product. most cooking channels would have just ended and we wouldn't have seen the lasagna at the end.
The tick-tick ⏰ people, that want you to not talk so much, need to mind their own business. Unless, their business is your business! I love to listen to you, as much as I like to learn your recipes...oh boy, do I love your recipes! You make me laugh, whilst learning to cook! Thank you my friend‼️
"I should do this for a lving", lol. I never thought I would laugh so much and feel so good watching a cooking channel. Thank you for making these videos, I cannot wait to start helping my wife in the kitchen for the first time in 35 years of marriage; you are an absolute inspiration.
I served this tonight, My family said this was the most delicious lasagna they ever had. And, I am not to change a thing and please serve this often. I agree with them totally. This is a delicious receipt. Thank you Chef Jean-Pierre for showing us how to do this.
J.P,., please do not stop talking, we love your way of saying things, just as important as your cooking? If you did not say all you do, the food would lose something in the taste? But we love you too …? even more than your patter and the delectable food you cook ...?
Out of all the cooking channels on UA-cam, Chef Jean Pierre is the only one I truly enjoy and now the only one I watch. I tried several of the recipes and they always come out perfect thanks to Chef Jean Pierre's excellent teaching skills. Also love all the advice on preparation and techniques to get excellent results every time. Always looking forward to the next creation by Chef Jean Pierre.
I made this yesterday for a dinner party tonight, had some leftover sauce and noodles so I put together a little 5 x 5 inch one in a separate glass dish and baked it at the same time as the big one. Refrigerated over night. We had the little one for lunch to determine the reheat time at 275. 45 minutes did it. And the verdict is thinking of cancelling the friends coming over as I don’t want to share it. Haha, tastes so good you want to lick the plate! Chef Jean-Pierre you sure didn’t disappoint marvellous recipe, thank you again.
Finally made this last night and let it sit in the fridge until today. This recipe is amazing! Instead of baking the chicken I cooked it in my cast iron because I wanted to try out the clarified butter I made. That alone had my mouth watering! My wife still can't get over the fact that ham works so well in a lasagna but she's not complaining! And that mornay sauce? Good lord it's delicious!
Chef Jean Pierre you have inspired me to cook again. Seeing you cook is fun and brings back very happy memories of when I had passion for the culinary art. I went to culinary school, had a great French instructor and other wonderful chefs and graduated received my Associates degree with honors. I did it in memory of my 21 yr old daughter who passed away back in 2010. She and I went to culinary school together. We were close to graduating when she was stricken with terminal brain cancer. We had plans to one day own our own restaurant. That's when my love for cooking died as well. However, seeing you reminds me of the joy it was being a chef. Thank you for reminding how wonderful cooking great food is. I wished I could have experienced attending your school. I know it would have been great. You are amazing. Thank you.
The chicken and ham layers are a fine twist! Concerning the mushrooms, I make an extra layer with those instead of cooking them in the ragu. Pan-sear the shrooms in oil with salt and pepper, deglaze with white whine and add butter and herbs. Put a layer of that in there for a more distinct mushroom touch.
Dear Chef Jean-Pierre, Your attention to detail is unsurpassed and I learn so much each time I watch one of your videos. These tips are life-long skills to be passed down to my children and they will be better cooks because of you. Also, you are such a happy person and anyone can see that you love cooking. I just love the way you have fun with your audience and it just makes my day. Many thanks.

To each his own and I love the chef. However I personally love meatless lasagna and now use the chefs puttanesca sauce for it. With goat cheese and Asiago and I'm just happy. Chef Jean-Pierre has reintroduced me to The Joy of Cooking and that is a blessing.
One of my wife's friends had surgery...I'm making this for my wife to give her during her recovery. It looks absolutely AMAZING...going to make extra of the sauces so my family can enjoy as well. God Bless you Chef and thank you for another inspiring video!!

I stumbled across your channel by accident tonight and I have been watching it for hours. I can't believe you only have 250k subs. So much good stuff here, and so very entertaining and fun. Thank you for bringing such happiness and joy into my life today. I really needed it.
What a love! A man who can cook like an angel and keep you chuckling at his funny demeanor! I just ordered two of your cookbooks and will be watching you here!
Ohhh... you recipes are healthylicious thank you for sharing Chef Jean-Pierre you are amazing. 😘❤ I will try your menu on my online foodies little business here in Cebu. 😊🙏💕
LOL! I think the TikTok people talk too much... Chef, I love cooking and just found your channel. I'm learning wonderful techniques while being throughly entertained. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love for cooking!
One is british, grew up where the sun never shows up, where it rains all the time and where the vegetables never grow. The other one is french with italian origins. Where the sun never settle, the rain never come and the vegetables grow very well. I think it have some impact on the psyche.
My man has to be the best at a family gathering. May not get any rest since he’d be cooking, but what excellent food would be there and the things he would be saying in the unfiltered world. Favorite chef. Period.
Chef, forget what people say. Real cooks recognize other real cooks. People will always criticize, cook like you want and don't pay any attention to the nay-sayers! I and so many others love your cooking!
My day seems incomplete, without watching one or two of your videos, Chef!…. The hardest part of making dishes to sell…. Is not doing everything exactly like you do!… It’s hard to be original and creative!…. The hardest part of making a dish my own dish, is watching your videos!…. Using all your knowledge and experience, and not doing everything exactly like you do it!…. The hardest part of trying to be creative and perfect is not doing a copycat!…. 😂😂😂😂
What I enjoy most about your Chef Jean-Pierre's videos is his excellent ability to teach and mastery and emphasis on technique. Even on recipes for dishes that I either don't enjoy eating or don't believe that I would enjoy eating (although this particular recipe is one that I'm confident that I would enjoy), I still find so much value in his videos for those two reasons and, as a result, consider his channel to be one of the best cooking channels that I've seen on UA-cam. I'm grateful for these terrific videos.
Chef, consider this an invitation to my house for dinner since you said no one cooks for you. I'd be delighted to have you over. Bring your favorite wine.
My local French restaurant makes mussels with the white sauce you made. My spell checker won’t let me spell it. Anyway, it’s the most delicious sauce I ever had. I told them I wanted to eat that sauce as a soup. 🤤
One thing most of those top chefs lack,is a sense of humor. They also do not share their expertise, zealously guarding every movement, and that is why it is totally pleasurable to watch and listen to you. Thank you Chef!
This looks amazing. I can see the French and Italian coming together in this lasagna for a perfect marriage of flavor. Thank you chef for showing us how to make so may wonderful foods.
I've been a chef for 23 years. I still love watching other chefs. I enjoy your technique and flavor combinations. You inspire me with every video. Keep up the good work. I've added a few of your dishes to my menu. In fact, Lasagna was was the main entree tonight. Love the two sauces. The vegan version was not so much. I do not like cooking for vegans. Life is to short....Meat, eggs, cheese, and butter are too delicious to arbitrarily remove from your diet.
I have tried so many of your recipes and instructions.....and all make ME look like a gourmand cook! Cant wait to make this one for company!!! You give me something to look forward to every week. THANKS CHEF!
I love you Chef! You don’t talk too much. Even if you did I would listen! You’re an amazing Chef and teacher. We all love you! You’ve taught me so much in a very short period of time. I’ve always loved to cook and you’ve made me love it even more. Don’t listen to the “ticktocky” people. 😂 I made my first ever beef stock cause of you! I look forward to your videos every week and go back and watch all of the old ones and save them. I’ve made at least 5 of your recipes in 3 months and they were all AMAZING!
I agree! If they don’t like cheese don’t invite them over❣️Lolol I love watching your videos and I always learn so much thank you so much. My 10-year-old grandson loves loves loves to watch your videos also! Thank you for what you do! I love your passion for cooking! You’re the best! You are

Serving one day after for baked products like Potato Gratin and Lasagne is a game changer chef. I learned it from you. Firstly the food absorb all the aroma and fat, and every bite is sensational. secondly you don't have to deal with serving from very very hot tray. It does not fall apart and you dont burn your hand. Eating stuff from directly from the oven is also difficult for guests too, it is way too hot and even they eat it, don't get the taste, it needs to relax and chill. Thanks for the inspiration and tricks
I Busted out laughing when JP said "I Should do this for a Living"..😆😉✌ I think I have to Drink when Creating something Good in the Kitchen!! I Will cook for you Chef JP, for the Fun of it And most of All getting The Best Constructive Criticism from the Best Ever!!!

I stumbled across your channel by accident tonight and I have been watching it for hours. I can't believe you only have 250k subs. So much good stuff here, and so very entertaining and fun. Thank you for bringing such happiness and joy into my life today. I really needed it.
😍😍😍😍
Youre awesome bud. " my Mom said don't eat with your mouth full " had me rolling.
What a love! A man who can cook like an angel and keep you chuckling at his funny demeanor! I just ordered two of your cookbooks and will be watching you here!
There are cookbooks? Must see
Ohhh... you recipes are healthylicious thank you for sharing Chef Jean-Pierre you are amazing. 😘❤ I will try your menu on my online foodies little business here in Cebu. 😊🙏💕
Jean-Pierre, you are not alone. NO ONE ever cooks for me. I'd chop off an arm to have someone cook for me for once lol. This looks amazing btw.
Yes Chef Juan Pierre, watching you eat is almost as good as watching you cook. Keep up the amazing good work!
I've got time for Chef Jean-Pierre
LOL! I think the TikTok people talk too much... Chef, I love cooking and just found your channel. I'm learning wonderful techniques while being throughly entertained. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love for cooking!
He's like Gordon Ramsey, but being wholesome and nice instead of hard and mean. Love it!
One is british, grew up where the sun never shows up, where it rains all the time and where the vegetables never grow.
The other one is french with italian origins. Where the sun never settle, the rain never come and the vegetables grow very well.
I think it have some impact on the psyche.
No way! Chef JP is beyond ANYONE... He's made in heaven 💖
Yes we don't watch Chefs with a filthy mouth like Gordon Ramsey ..Love this guy makes me laugh too
And no f bombs ❤️
Made this recipe tonight. Spot on!
The great thing about these videos is that it doesn't really matter whether you make the recipes or not -- they're just so entertaining!
Awesome personality and sense of humor. Enjoy watching your videos 👍👍👍
You’re my favorite chef! Love your personality and you’re such a good teacher.
Being creative is definitely the key ingredient. And more butter
i just started clapping to give myself a round of applause. My mother asked me if I was alright.
😂😍😂😍 you made me laugh!!!! Much love !!!!😍😍😍😍
Yes
Me too! It was my wife and my kid.......they gave me THAT look!😒😁
Me too!
That's right Don't Invite them again🤣..I really really love your video 😘
What I enjoy most about your Chef Jean-Pierre's videos is his excellent ability to teach and mastery and emphasis on technique. Even on recipes for dishes that I either don't enjoy eating or don't believe that I would enjoy eating (although this particular recipe is one that I'm confident that I would enjoy), I still find so much value in his videos for those two reasons and, as a result, consider his channel to be one of the best cooking channels that I've seen on UA-cam. I'm grateful for these terrific videos.
Thank you for the kind worlds!!! 😍😍😍
You the best Chef ever...so positive..such love and passion
Chef, consider this an invitation to my house for dinner since you said no one cooks for you. I'd be delighted to have you over. Bring your favorite wine.
let us know what you cooked for him
@@soenekken sadly, chef hasn’t accepted, but I did get a heart from him! I plan on either duck breast, mashed potatoes and asparagus or either ribeye.
@@gamersunite7968 sounds good, in that case I'll come :)
@@soenekken the more the merrier!
DO YOU HAVE A RECIPE FOR STUFF PEPPERS.
Greatest of all time
My local French restaurant makes mussels with the white sauce you made. My spell checker won’t let me spell it. Anyway, it’s the most delicious sauce I ever had. I told them I wanted to eat that sauce as a soup. 🤤
It's a Bechamel sauce with cheese...some places when you add the cheese to a Bechamel it's called a Mornay sauce :-)
One thing most of those top chefs lack,is a sense of humor. They also do not share their expertise, zealously guarding every movement, and that is why it is totally pleasurable to watch and listen to you. Thank you Chef!
Owesome video. I salivate just watching you put this together. Thank you. T
You are SPOILING us this week chef. Thank you!
If we were meant to be vegans, we'd have four stomachs or an enlarged caecum.
Absolutely love the tips
I have tried so many of your recipes and instructions.....and all make ME look like a gourmand cook! Cant wait to make this one for company!!! You give me something to look forward to every week. THANKS CHEF!
Every thing you make is my favorite. I'm a cook , for 30 years but you teach me a lot. But everything must have onyo
I agree! If they don’t like cheese don’t invite them over❣️Lolol
I love watching your videos and I always learn so much thank you so much. My 10-year-old grandson loves loves loves to watch your videos also! Thank you for what you do! I love your passion for cooking! You’re the best!

Back at you! 😍🙏👍
@@ChefJeanPierre I just saw this reply and fainted. You are literally my professor, Chef. My culinary school. Thank you so much!❤️🎄🕊
Serving one day after for baked products like Potato Gratin and Lasagne is a game changer chef.
😍😍😍
I really need to stop watching these in the morning...I'm fricken starving now.
I Busted out laughing when JP said "I Should do this for a Living"..😆😉✌
I think I have to Drink when Creating something Good in the Kitchen!!
