You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Cole Mayson i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
It might seem silly but I’m 25 and I should be starting my university studies in August.. these videos make me so excited I can’t wait to learn how to create like this!!!!
This is the first video of yours I've seen. I'm a 4-year (Senior) design student in the US and it really interesting to see the differences in what our schools focus on. My school really focuses on layout design at the beginning of school so like year 1/2 while I think its interesting that they kinda throw you right into the more complex design problems early on.
yeah here they already expect you to understand layout design as they consider that the basics so we don't actually do any of that as everyone already needs to know the essentials about design here!
I loved how I just stumbled across your channel! I’m studying GD at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and I think you’d like it here more because it’s more focused on digital design - we still learn letterpress because we have the machines here, and do calligraphy and lino - but your course seems a lot more fine artsy and I feel like I would prefer it to be that way for myself! Looks so fun!
Shirin Leung I’m in 3rd year now and can’t wait to share my work from this year after the school year!! It’s all digital, illustration, branding & animation based! Each year it’s completely different so we are trained in a variety of styles and able to leave the course fully rounded! I definitely do prefer digital design but that’s all I’m doing on the course now so it’s great!!
I am currently in 1 year in uni, also in graphic design. We are having exams at the moment, where we are creating icecream packaging and making a microsite launch for it. So i´m currently watching others for inspiration hehe. I loove watching what others create, please continue to share :) (sorry if my English is not 100%, i´m Norwegian lol)
It’s always really interesting to see how different schools teach design. I only did a 2 year diploma so I could move onto a marketing degree but my 2nd year was almost entirely branding and digital (websites, social etc.) work. Most of the physical aspect was optional vs looking at Swiss schools that seem almost entirely print based. Definitely wish I learned more about psychical + print as now that I’m in the design/marketing field, we do a ton of print work even tho we’re a digital marketing studio. If I ever go back to upgrade to a degree that’s something I’ll need to focus more on.
Totally agree! I’m Doing a bachelors in graphics but doing a post grad masters in marketing so can get the best of both!! So good to have the two combined tho such a handy thing in this current industry
Hi Emmy, found your video really interesting. Loved listening to you & looking at all your projects, some were really good 👍. I work as a graphic designer/photographer for a large nuclear company which is a challenge in itself!! I absolutely love my job but there is a lot of very boring mundane work which isn’t very exciting but it has to be done!! I hope you get yourself a fantastic job in the design industry when you’ve graduated, so keep up the good work & I look forward to seeing your next projects! Samx
Really enjoyed hearing about this! It’s been a while since I was studying but so many of the projects/course structure still sounds very similar, even though I studied on the other side of the world in New Zealand!
Thanks Charli! Its so nice to hear about other peoples experiences, most people say the complete opposite and they do nothing like this so its nice to know there's other courses out there doing similar!
Really interesting that you mention Graphic Design Craft, so is that like how you make physical mock ups and use of materials? Love hearing how other university teach Graphics - I'm at RGU in Aberdeen and it seems very different from what you do, but theres some cross over which is nice! Your work is so polished - can definitely see you working in the industry when you graduate :) Xx
Katy's Studio yes!! Like any graphic design that isn’t digital: tessellation, product design & construction, 3D mockups, anything you have to physically make. My course is heavily based around graphic crafts vs digital design & illustration which is what I prefer, but hopefully can get a job in it with my degree after :) thank you!

I love it in México graphic design is so diferent , I love this kind of style. ! Love your proyect
Hi Emmy, the books project was for the International Society of Typography Design? Most of the graphic design courses do it during the second year and I was wondering if you did it as well! I love your channel, I've been following you since before joining uni and I'm now in 2nd year :) keep going x
no it wasnt! we dont enter any briefs like that. In 3rd and 4th year we enter design compeitions like YCN as part of briefs but thats about it :D and thank you so much! x
Even though I’m not in uni, I love to hear about what you’ve been getting up to! I follow you on Instagram (both accounts) I comment fairly often, think you’re so lovely! X
At least you got to make a poster of tessellations, we had to make them into wearable art and wear them on a makeshift catwalk lol. Love your video. Cool to see what others are doing
That’s so cool! I study Media Design at Deltion College in Zwolle. It’s like graphic design, webdesign, video, photography and animation in one course.
Do you actually print your own work on litho, flexo, digital, screen...etc presses yourself!? We had to do the design work and learn how to print them ourselves
Can you print posters at your university? I say this because in my school you can only print paper, and with poor quality... it is very sad, i always have to pay for print my projects...
Yes, we have a woman who runs a print shop from the design block for high quality prints :) the only low quality paper is in the library for printing essays etc. But you always have to pay for printing, each project could be £20 - £100 depending on what you need printed but it is a very pricey profession
you'd have to google i wouldn't know! Diplomas are usually 2 years at college but you don't get far in the industry with those (usually need a uni degree). Certificates are 1 year at college. You need to go to a university to get a Bachelors.
Hi Emmy, thanks for the reply. Greatly appreciated :) yes I think you are right, to get a job we need Bachelors degree from University rather than Diploma courses. How about one year Certificate program? Is it worth doing it. Thanks
I really hope you do more videos related to graphic design, I am in second year too but we haven't done as much projects as you did. I hate that so I will start doing a lot projects on my own. P. S. : I really like all your work ❤️ P. S. 2: How old are you?
Hello there! I like too much your design videos and I like to see your design works in your youtube channel. Have a good day, by an italian graphic design student at the academy of fine art
hi, thank you! I have a graphic design channel for all things design linked on my channel page if you want to see more design videos, its called madebycuttingedge
@@EmmyRosamVlogs Hi, yes! I found your video in which you told it, so I'm just following you there, and also in your instagram and behance profiles! Congrats for your creations.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing your work. It's really cool to see how diverse are the projects you work on. I think this aproach of imersing into Graphic Design by various facetes is a very interesting way to develop "solving problem creativity"(idk if that term exists, if not I just created it rn haha), it should be challenging but very exciting. * - *
David Johnson I’m not going into graphic design :) but I have lots of graphic design jobs at the moment that pay my bills very nicely and enjoy it but I am doing a masters in marketing! You might not have the best experience with it but there’s no need to deter anyone else away from it, young designers are our future
Emmy Rosam let me tell you about the future. Our firms practices are shady at best. We had a client rolling a new app out that he created and needed a logo. We outsourced to the Philippines for approx 50 dollars usd, billed the client 1,875 for the logo. Unless you are the next paul rand or Saul bass, find a better career
David Johnson you might be shady but not everyone is :) I’m making plenty money freelance and working for some big clients right now but thanks for the advice! I actually run 5 of my own businesses graphic design is just a passion and hobby of mine but I do it well so it pays well. I have no interest in being the next Saul bass but I do have interest in building my empire so I’m going to continue to do that :)
CharliMarieTV easier said than done. I’ve got too many years in the firm. My division just took on a billion dollar client. My SDD said to milk all timesheets because they have plenty of money. So part of my job is farming design pieces to some kids that work in a sweatshop in Indonesia.
My final year 3 design work video is finally live! You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/X-Y7Oigok6M/v-deo.html
