One of my favorite movies of all time, I’m a huge Colin Firth fan, so it’s really cool to me that he trained for a few months so that he’d be able to do a chunk of his own stunts. That Church scene is one of the greatest fight scenes of all time imo

I'm not saying they shouldn't, but I actually thought the second "Kingsman" was kind of a letdown. Maybe because there should have really only been one "Kingsman."
@@PJWB And really, that's why there shouldn't have been a sequel in the first place. "Kingsman" was a perfect film, by itself, and the plot was completely resolved. A sequel could only ever be less excellent. But the studio demanded one anyway.
Sophia Boutela is a beast! She is a professional dancer and choreographer by trade but transitioned into acting. I love her portrayal of Giselle in this movie.
It doesn't hold up. The villain, the plot and the fricking Elton John riuned it. This movie captures the perfect balance between serious and ridiculous, the second one just goes extra ridiculous.
29:36 I suspect from your “Halo?!” that you may be thinking of the video game. In this context, a HALO suit is “High Altitude Low Opening” and describes a paradrop manuever where you drop from an extreme height but open your parachute very close to the ground - as they did earlier in the movie.
"Kingsman" was a completely bonkers flick! I went into this movie not expecting what we actually got, but I remember walking out of the theatre, thinking to myself: "Holy Sh!t!!" My best friend calls this film "The British John Wick." I find that description to be more or less accurate.
Oh my god you two dropping jokes about the guy sliced in half was so perfect, had me dying! Instantly reminded me of Austin Powers when he’s making the jokes about the burnt up guy!!
The fact he didn't run over the fox in the beginning showed that Eggsy has a good heart, and is a foreshadowing of him not shooting the dog. I love this movie so much. Loved your reaction.
A lot of people criticized the princess' treatment in this so called "deconstruction of / love letter to" spy movies, however the sequel follows through with that. This film will always hold a place in my top 100.
You ever come to London, the tailors it's based off of is called Huntsman, which has a plaque beside it showing this. It's on Savile Row, nearby Piccadilly Circus, in the city center....
I was dying from the puns! Glad you both enjoyed it. Amazing action and story with classic Bondish gadgets. The part in the church with both of you frozen in shock at the carnage unleash is a perfect screen saver moment. Need more pure action fun films like this one.
I had confirmed with other movie goers, but the last "Reverse" shot showed more details in the theater when this was out in the cinema when I saw this in the UK. Seems it got darkened for subsequent home releases, but man was that such a "I can't believe they went that far." moment in the cinema.
After that line where Samuel L Jackson says “…Yeah welll, this ain’t that kind of movie,” it not only made the scene and the movie 10 times better it also told you as the viewer they didn’t take it to seriously as they made a kinda meta commentary. I think y’all will thoroughly enjoy the next 2 movies as they just keep getting better.
This is one of the most underrated films of our generation. I'm so glad that you guys are watching this for the first time. A buddy of mine and I went to see this movie when it came out, out of sheer boredom. I had no idea what we were in for, and after seeing the trailer I had assumed it was just an ordinary secret agent. I do not know what genre to even define this film as. It walks a very fine line between legitimate action, comedy, and straight up satire. There is nothing else like it and the church scene to Lynyrd skynyrd's Free Bird guitar solo is one of the greatest cinema scenes of all time and perfectly encapsulates what this movie is
Re: "He couldn't keep it together... he was just beside himself..." That actor started out in a brit comedy called... Coupling. I'm not making this up 😂
I just love that the princess part has a joke that almost nobody gets - the code to get into her cell was 2524. On old timey phones that combination could type out a word in text - that word? A-N-A-L
@o.b.7217 I suppose the kid above just knew what it was supposed to spell but not how rotary phones actually worked. He never got the joke either. #1 has no letters assigned. How do I know he's a kid? Because T9 text knowledge would have also given you the answer and that was around in 2000s. Must have had a legal guardian accompany him to this film.
This movie does not disappoint from start to finish.... Kingsman is easily one of the best movies of the 21st century in my opinion. The sequel is a good follow on, it introduces the American branch of Kingsman!! Great reaction guys 👍
I am so glad you two watched this movie. This is one of my favorite movies. I loved your reactions. What I love about this movie about why good male role models are good for young boys. The elements of being a Kingsman yes is knightly, but it also shows to good parts to knightly conduct. Like Lancelot saying, "Manners makes the man." I love this because it was to teach to unruly boys, they were rude and arrogant. The point to the school for both boys and girls was teamwork (putting others above yourself). Seeing the fight scene in the end is because he learned used what Lancelot and Merlin taught him. It was beautiful.
My dad loves this movie :D You probably already know, but there's a sequel, with even more familiar faces; there's also a prequel, but we haven't seen that yet.
The prequel was sort of a let down. Definitely the weakest of the three. It could have used some editing to pick up the pace. The movie lacked humor for which the first two are known for.
YES! YES Steven driving a car like that in reverse is absolutely possible! I’m a retired LEO and when I was in the academy and in our defensive driving course we had to drive all sorts of ways. One of which was the forward and reverse slalom course. We had to drive forward keeping the speed at exactly 40mph and enter the slalom part missing traffic cones then when we made it to the end we had to reverse back at exactly 40mph. Not only the slalom course but we had to reverse in a straight line @ 40mph then when the instructor told us we had to whip it around and put it in drive and enter another course. This had to be done precisely when he said “now” because if not there were a ton of cones to hit. Each cone we hit took points off our scores. So yes it is possible to drive like that and it is by far the most fun I’ve ever had driving! Oh and when we drove we had to wear all of our gear just as if we were working. So we had duty belts etc plus our Kevlar vests which are extremely uncomfortable. Due to all that gear and the cage ( some expanded metal and some solid plexiglass) in the cars we could only use our side mirrors. For those of us who were larger folks (I’m 6’2” & was 230lbs) it was very difficult to turn our bodies to look out the rear glass.
That’s Jack davenport, he was a pretty big household name in the uk before pirates of that carribean. Ultraviolet was awesome. The mum, is quite well known as well, coupling was awesome with the both of them.
I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this movie! It's nice to see it landed, some people complained about it being unrealistic, but there's plenty of places to get that brand of action if you want it. This was an absolute trip and I loved it.
About Gazelle, Valentine's right arm with bladed legs. She's played by professional breakdancer Sofia Boutella She also played in Star trek beyond, Atomic blonde and The Mummy (2017)
Funny that you mention how one scene reminds you of the X-Men. The director of this film is Matthew Vaughn, who also happened to direct X-Men: First Class.
Stunt drivers usually reverse the shell of the car when doing high speed reverse scenes. Just so that it looks like it's going fast backwards but really they're driving forwards.
This movie was brilliant in everyway. I'm 60 and a very big Bond fan and this was like that to me...only better in many ways. The number one thing about this movie to me was the story. The actors, the stunts, the camera work, the music and the editing all amazing. The second Kingsman movie is even better...
I just love the way that the film really ficks into gear with Colin Firth locking the doors to the pub and then the film ends with his protege doing exactly the same thing
The entire fight scene in the pub was filmed in the pub directly below my flat in London, The Black Prince in Kennington. I could go on about the symbolic meaning to me and the posters etc. inside but I'd prefer a personal anecdote. This place gave me three milk-cartons full of beer during the first UK Covid lockdown and as a Brit.... that says all you need to know about this pub :D If you visit London - try it; In addition to the amazing frozen cocktails in summer...
such an amazing movie you guys are gonna love it. it’s one of the rare instances where the second movie is just as good as the first. lotta love guys 🤍
@@Gandorhar Yeah, I remember watching the second one, and walking out of the theatre, thinking: "You know... the first movie didn't really need a sequel..."
The dog scene I think is based on real training that the U.S. Army Special Forces Medic candidates go through. Now I don't know if this is still practiced, but when a SF medics go through training. The recuit was given a baby goat. The recuit was to take care of the baby goat. In the last stage of training, all of the baby goats were rounded up. Put in a fenced off area. Then gasoline and explosives were used to simulate battlefield injuries on the baby goats. It was the job of the SF medic recuits to triage the baby goats and try to keep the baby goats alive. In the end all of the baby goats would be put down.
Sequel is definitely worth a watch and apparently they are hoping to end that series with one final to make that storyline a trilogy. And I loved the prequel and would recommend it (which they are also making a few movies of as it takes place back in WWI and then sets up to follow after in an end credit scene) so I am looking forward to that storyline too.
The action designer who was responsible for shooting the action scenes in this movie and the next movie Chris Cowan, was/is highly inspired by anime. Which I find super cool.
If you guys really enjoyed that movie then you ABSOLUTELY MUST watch (The Man From Uncle)! Same genre and an absolute blast from start to finish! PLEASE WATCH!!!
During the MacDonald's meal, Harry has a Big Mac and Valentine has two cheese burgers with special sauce. Like Harry and Valentine, they are basically the same thing, except one of them has more bread.
In the original kingsman comics. They actually kidnap mark hamill. Not professor arnold. So the fact they kidnapped actual mark hamill (professor arnold) was a huge tip of the hat to everyone.
Loved reaction. Did ya'll recognize the interrogator at fake train track test? He is Richard Brake. You saw him in Mandolarian season two episode 15. Mayfield killed him. He was Valin Hess the Imperial officer. BTW I loved your Mando reactions as well.
This director did a great job with the action scenes and the different angles they shot it from. I was pleasantly surprised when I watched this movie when it first came out.
This movie is an indictment of the global elites including showing what they wish they could do to the rest of us. Each of the movies has a good message.
Knew you guys would love this one.. right up your ally! Fun to see how couples start to say things the other does.. "Ya bitch".. part 2 is pretty good too.
*ANOTHER FUN FACT:* Merlin deciphered the door to Princess Tilde's cell as 2-6-2-5. Now, if you take those numbers, and decipher it in telephonics, 'nuff said....
"The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" just came out on the internet in Blu-Ray! The new movie about Nicolas Cages life story, where he plays himself in it aswell.. it's gotten 7.4/10 score on IMDB and really good reviews.
29:34 HALO stands for High Altitude Low Opening, it's a parachuting method special ops teams use in enemy territory to avoid detection. The plane is flying high in the stratosphere to avoid radar while the person who jumps out of it freefalls for several minutes only opening their parachute at the very last moment in order to avoid someone spotting it. High Altitude Low Opening. The person has to wear an oxygen system because the plane is so high that jumping out of it without one would cause you to black out from the lack of oxygen. However in the movie Roxy is releasing from a high altitude balloon rather than jumping out of a plane. Special Ops don't do that as far as I'm aware 🤣
Have you all seen Baby Driver. It's directed by Edgar Wright. He has directed such films as Shawn of the dead and Hot Fuzz. He is known for his exellent cinematography and Baby driver was his passion which finally came true. Definately worth a watch.
This is 1 of my favourite films of all time! You have to watch part 2, The Golden Circle, as it has a very good friend of mine and yours is in it as well!!!
The pacing in this movie was frick’n amazing, pushed by the EXACT right songs behind it! Most movies bring you along… this one pushes you FORWARD! I love watching in the movie theater and everybody’s heads are rockin to the action plus music. Special effects are amazing and they, Colin, had to do a lot of their own shots during the action sequences. The shots were too long for them to put in a stunt double and CGI the actor’s faces on the doubles. And I LOVED watching everyone’s heads exploding… reflected in Nikki’s watch!!!
So we all gonna look over the fact that even though he killed Valentine. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of people still died and the world is now in turmoil with the death of world leaders
I saw it opening weekend on my usual Sunday trip to the show - then again, the following Tuesday night, Thursday night, Sunday again; I saw this thing in theaters 8 times in total.
I’m so glad to see you guys do this one. I saw it for the first time a few months ago. Sheer brilliance! (I started watching you because of The Boys season 3.)
One of my favorite fun facts about this movie, shared with me by my Kingsman-fan girlfriend when she showed me the movie the very first time we hung out, is that no one asked SLJ to do the lisp. It’s not in the script, not a director’s note. He just thought “I think Richmond Valentine should have a lisp” and rolled with it
YEEESSSSSS AHA! one reaction video I've been waiting to see AND YOU 2 DIDNT DISAPPOINT! Definitely a movie that was beyond my expectations and was a movie that was just for pure entertainment. Loved both your reactions, was definitely a funny one to watch :)
Absolutely love all three Kingsman films. I've got to give props to Mark Strong for being one of only a few English actors that can carry of a flawless Scottish accent, most actors tend to slip on certain words due to we pronounce them slightly differently or roll our r's(or like the bad guy in The Kingsman have an accent that seems to slip all over the place as well as change dialect).

I'm still holding on for a sequel
I'm so happy you guys enjoyed this film. Hope y'all are doing well 💓
During the MacDonald's meal, Harry has a Big Mac and Valentine has two cheese burgers with special sauce. Like Harry and Valentine, they are basically the same thing, except one of them has more bread.
"Lancelot table for two Lancelot table for two " Lol!!😅😅😅😅
In the original kingsman comics. They actually kidnap mark hamill. Not professor arnold. So the fact they kidnapped actual mark hamill (professor arnold) was a huge tip of the hat to everyone.
That’s pretty impressive and Hamill’s reaction says it all.
A classic. Samuel L Jackson was doing some sort of Russel Simmons impersonation, it was dope.
Most people miss that.
Church fight , is the best action in the movie.... totaly Insane.... rythme, music and fun.
This movie is an indictment of the global elites including showing what they wish they could do to the rest of us. Each of the movies has a good message.
I saw this movie when I was 13 and it became one of my favorite films and it completely changed my movie taste forever… happy you guys watched it :)
Knew you guys would love this one.. right up your ally! Fun to see how couples start to say things the other does.. "Ya bitch".. part 2 is pretty good too.
The church scene alone owns the movie lol
one of the best scenes in cinema
*ANOTHER FUN FACT:* Merlin deciphered the door to Princess Tilde's cell as 2-6-2-5. Now, if you take those numbers, and decipher it in telephonics, 'nuff said....
Luke Skywalker and Mace Windu: together at last!
Omg not the dad jokes less than 5 mins in lmao "he's just besides himself" I love you guys
Great reaction as always you two.......loved it when you were doing the jokes of the agent being split in half.......priceless stuff!
"Manners...
...maketh...
...man!"
There's so much trope material in this movie it was off the scale. 😂😂
Have you all seen Baby Driver. It's directed by Edgar Wright. He has directed such films as Shawn of the dead and Hot Fuzz. He is known for his exellent cinematography and Baby driver was his passion which finally came true. Definately worth a watch.
LMAO the freaking puns about the half man he used to be, and that he couln't keep it together got me, i was dying. ahahah
I love that you guys react to a bunch of great movies I rarely see other people react to. Keep it up, you guys are great
34:56 Eggsy's response killed me, bro saying "I'll be right back😎😏" was just too much😂😂😂
The church scene was AMAZINGGGGG…… Love your reaction Nikki 😂😂😂😂😂
Part 2 was really good to ❤️
This is 1 of my favourite films of all time! You have to watch part 2, The Golden Circle, as it has a very good friend of mine and yours is in it as well!!!
Your faces during the church fight scene are so good. Also, during the head blowing up scene.
This movie is deff one of the best movies to date
Honest I love the second one even more then the first one. While the prequel was bit more serious then I thought it was gonna be
The pacing in this movie was frick’n amazing, pushed by the EXACT right songs behind it!
"He's half the man he used to be!" Lmao
So we all gonna look over the fact that even though he killed Valentine. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of people still died and the world is now in turmoil with the death of world leaders
Yep!
I really love to watch you guys, you're so fun! keep up the good work.
Lol when I watched this for the first time that starting scene I'm like "comador???" 😂😂
I TOTALLY had forgotten how much I love this movie!! Thanks for the reaction.
I just love Merlin has the respect to close the monitors he realize what’s going on
2:02 He was also in the hilarious British sitcom Coupling.
One of my favorite fun facts about this movie, shared with me by my Kingsman-fan girlfriend when she showed me the movie the very first time we hung out, is that no one asked SLJ to do the lisp. It’s not in the script, not a director’s note. He just thought “I think Richmond Valentine should have a lisp” and rolled with it
Nothing like some good motivation to go save the world 😂😂😂
Are we being cheeky?
