‘That dog’s never gonna get shagged wearing that!’ is one of the most completely-accidental-yet-hilarious double entendres of any episode.
When I was young I used to see Giles on several TV shows and found him to be a rather strange chap. Now that I am older, I absolutely love him. I'm fascinated by his stories. The only downside to hearing his stories (it's the same with Brian Blessed) is that it makes you realise how unexciting your own life is in comparison!
And his jumpers 🤣
Love Giles
Every Susan Calman episode is fantastic. Quests Part 2 is one of my absolute favorites!!
Yes, that episode is an all time great.
Calman is always a treat
For a great Susan episode, that include her and Sandi standing next to each other as you requested - check out series P, episode 16: Post
and another great Gyles episode is series H, episode 2: H anatomy
Oddly enough, I happen to know that Napoleon III is not buried in France, he’s buried in Farnham, England!
Gyles is fantastic! There’s a newer episode where he talks about his teddy bear museum, and he has a podcast about words called Something Rhymes with Purple
Nice to see you're now familiar with the phenomenon that is Giles Brandreth. Series P there's a post box on set. Someone gets in it whilst stood next to someone else. Nuff said :)
Neil, you said that you wanted to see Susan and Sandi standing next to each other. I can recommend Series P, Episode 16 - Post. That exact thing featured in a funny way.
Glasgow gets a rough rep but I've lived here for years and its a wonderful city. You gotta visit sometime Neil.
Letchworth Newtown or Letchworth Garden City as it is now called, is my home town. Some of 'The World's End' movie was filmed here.
Giles is arguably one of the most interesting people on the planet lol.
27:42 I think I read somewhere that Sandi is 5', Susan is 4'9.
One of my favorite episodes of the newer QI. Sandi and all the panelists were absolutely in fine form and thoroughly amusing and entertaining.
Gyles is awesome! Soare you!
Hiya. There are chippies that use actual vinegar. Thus, a friend of mine would always ask the staff member concerned, "is it vinegar or non-brewed condiment?" because she only liked NBC. Stay safe. All the best to you.
Also get "onion juice" - a white NBC of some kind
@@highpath4776 - Really? Ooh, must look out for that. Thanks. All the best.
At some point in the near future you'll be watching episodes from series T because the it begins on Friday on BBC Two
wow good call! she DOES look like Darlene!
Surprised to see QI before a Taskmaster video but this is good also 🙂
You gotta do Quests part 2, Susan is a delight on it
Hey Neil, did you hear that Sandman was renewed for Season 2? Someone send Tom Sturridge a raven to tell him.

The Carry On film for the French Revolution was "Carry On Don't Loose Your Head"... It introduced the nobleman who played "The Black Fingernail", and like all Carry On films with the original cast in it was camp and ridiculous which is why they're so funny...
There's over 30 Carry On films so that's a long time sat watch them relying on an incontinence pad?
Great episode worth checking out when Alan couldn’t be there so just had Stephen and three guests, Phil Jupitus, Graham Garden & Johnny Vaughan.
Tom Scott does a video on fish and chip vinegar.
I hate it that casino get jealous, if you can count cards, because it ain't cheating.
Giles Brandreth is a frequent panelist on the radio show Just a Minute wherein the guests attempt to talk for a minute without hesitation, repetition or deviation on a subject given to them by the host. As you might imagine, he's quite good at it.
Pretty sure our local chip shop uses malt vinegar.
Series M episode 8 called merriment is a good episode to watch. It's the Christmas episode of the series. I don't want to give to much away but it is a very enjoyable episode
Sandi and Susan are about the same height. There's an episode in the P series where Susan reveals that she can stand up inside a post box / mail pillar box in the UK... and lo and behold, they have one on stage to try it...
Giles has been on many TV & radio shows over the years ......
I love Gyles Brandreth, his soothing voice doesn't disappoint. Love his radio4 panel shows. Full of unwanted knowledge.
I love Giles.
I always appreciate the generated subtitles --- When Giles talked about meeting Mick Jagger it came up as a little old "wizzard" lady ( instead of wizened lady ) ---- Not sure which one is the better description.
Not sure what alcohol it was, but I once saw people in my hall of residence at university snorting spirits from teaspoons.
As someone who has been a teenager in New Zealand, I related hard to Jessica Fostekew's story about snorting vodka. In my youth, the fashion was for "Tequila Suiciders" which were ordinary shots of tequila served with a pinch of salt and a lemon wedge. The tequila was imbibed normally, the salt was snorted through a straw, and the lemon was squeezed into your eye. Alcohol + kids = stupidity.
We always called this the pirate shot, because it made you close your eye and go “AAAARRRRGGHHHH” 😂
Sandy is very slightly taller than Susan & makes height jokes at her expense every time she's on QI. There's one episode where it's revealed that Susan can stand upright in a British postbox
I wouldn't be surprised if, once guests are booked, they bring in a whole Gyles wing of researchers...
Susan Always struggles....👀🤷♂️😂😂
QI: roulette in europe has only 1 zero
Is the one in US 0 and 00 ?
While you're right about the Elves delving into Brandreth material for the episodes, under just about any circumstances Gyles will talk AT LENGTH, to the point that he's famous for making television recordings go on for punishingly long times. He's more jovial about it now and has really learned to bring things back to a punchline, but even still, with tons of editing, you can still see signs of other panelists getting annoyed with him going on so much. The last time Brandreth was on HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU, Paul Merton made no attempt whatsoever to conceal his irritation because Gyles was making the record take so bloody long.
Paul Merton has very little patience for someone else besides him to be in the spotlight for long.
@@Baiko I agree. Paul has been hard to watch for years and years now. Ian is the star of the show.
20:23 shocking, he got his own anecdote incorrect.
Letchworth Garden City, first in the world. Not Letchworth new town.
Stevenage, a town nextdoor to Letchworth is a 'New town'.
but yes, Britains first round about is here.
it's honestly easily missed, just a tiny wooden sign that get stolen every now and then lol
I've been requesting this one for a long time. Can you please do Quest 2 with Susan Calman next?
Sandi knows Susan quite well and she makes fun of her height frequently as she is shorter than Sandi.
According to the North American Forest Commission, "Tree planting on all forestland rose dramatically after World War II, reaching record levels in the 1980s." So, no, 1982 wasn't the lowest level.
No wonder balsamic never tasted right on chips.
Depends on the batter mix
What they say about China and planting trees is absolutely untrue. I did my PHD in environmental science in China, and while it is true that they planted monocultures, it's absolutely not because they're doing it for agricultural purposes... The purpose is to combat desertification, and you can't just go from barren desert to a vibrant and diverse ecosystem instantly. What they do is first lock down the desert with grids of dried grass, then they plant drought resistant grasses and shrubs to lock down the soil. Then once the soil can support it, they plant monocultures of drought resistant trees to further lock down and enrich the soil. Obviously, lots of them die but the plan isn't to have a monoculture anyway. Only when the soil can support it do they start planting more diverse species. This is a proven method of combating desertification, and these methods are being used in places in Africa and Israel. It is true that in some areas of China, this method was so successful that the monocultures did extremely well so they decided to just leave it like that and not further diversify to save money, but a monoculture forest will self-diversify over time and it's better than a barren desert anyway.
This episode wouldn’t have been half as funny if it weren’t for the fact that Giles has four bears 🐻🐻🐻🐻😝
Where's Taskmaster? Not complaining, I just have had watch them quickly because you're been straight onto them:). Love the qi too :)
You're not wrong, she Does look like the daughter from Roseanne!!😱
Sandi is 5 ft and Susan is 4 ft 9 in
It's not unusual for an aristocrat to know his family lineage, in fact it's expected, especially when they have a long lineage and provable heritage of events and prior major events... It's the aristocratic way. It's also why they're so protective of their bloodline and future lineage...
If you had Gile's remarkable ancestry you would know it..
I actually knew the non brewed condiment thing
So your ancestors are Scottish? Surprised we haven't seen any Still Game content.
It's hilarious reading the subtitles underneath! 🤣🤣🤣 Whoever wrote it can't understand the varying accents at all.
Sandi isn't the butt of the short jokes, she's more like the kneecap
Giles is awesome! I'd like to meet him.
so he can tell you to fuck off?
I think it would be much better without the comments.
I think the north American middle class definition is pretty much Universal except for the U.K.
