    I love how the guests just stop the show to talk about Jimmy knocking off Jack's donut, and how Mel just came prepared and shared her British bakeoff loot, and once they're done, it's back to the contest like nothing happened
    Edit: okay the food fight knocks it out of the park

      You do understand it's all scripted right? Or do you believe tik tok too

    • @BuckyOhYeah
      @BuckyOhYeah 5 місяців тому +27

      @@Paul-nr6ws how is this scripted? I'll give you a hint; it's not. Sure, the producers will know about anything that's going to appear on screen, but they don't know when, nor in what context it'll be used. There are no lines being fed... its not scripted.

    • @LaneMaxfield
      @LaneMaxfield 5 місяців тому +36

      @@BuckyOhYeah My understanding is it's not either/or. Often on these shows there are planned bits (if something uses a prop, like Mel's picnic's worth of baked goods, it's probably planned) but planned does not necessarily mean scripted - more like they know the bit is coming and they've rehearsed a few versions but they are ad-libbing the actual lines. Then there's Jimmy's intros and one-liners, which are 100% scripted. Finally, these people do work together constantly and study improv, so they know how to see an opportunity for a good joke and run with it, even if it wasn't planned. It's possible that, when planning the baked goods, somebody just cheekily said, "and of course we'll have a food fight later on," and nobody was sure whether it was a joke or something they would actually do until Jack Whitehall threw a muffin. It also might be genuine pure improv. Part of the skill with these kinds of live shows is being so organic and in the moment that the planned bits and the improvisation blend so seamlessly, people don't know which is which.

      @@LaneMaxfield so pretty much exactly what I said?

    • @BuckyOhYeah
      @BuckyOhYeah 5 місяців тому +3

      @MadcapShambleton well yes. In that, I said they know about the props, but don't know what they'll be used for, nor when... I didn't mention that the monologue is scripted, but I didn't think I needed to. So, in fact, yes, we are saying the same thing. Don't be obtuse.

      In Norway we have a show where Norwegian Americans compete to see whose the most Norwegian. The price is a family gathering with their Norwegian relatives. It truly attracts a different kind of reality show contestant!

    I love a spontaneous food fight as much as the next person. But with cafeteria food, not with specialty baked goods made with love for a small group of people. Totally disrespectful to the work & care Mel put in baking & dressing those goods. And now I'm hungry. Darn.
    PS: This show is amazing but made even moreso, by the dynamic duo of Richard & Noah. They're like Batman & Robin, but both Batman... if one wore a dress and the other travelled for a tv show.

    the aerobics championship clip😂 y’all there’s a retro style EDM band called Starcadian from about 10 years ago, he did a song called Dance or Die that used the same exact footage in the video. It was awesome! Hilarious! Brilliant! Y’all simply MUST go look up this song/video! Dance or Die by Starcadian.
