Andrew Garfield definitely deserves a 3rd movie. He's the best Spider-Man in my opinion
I could see why you’d believe so since I’ve heard some say he’s the most accurate comic book Spider-Man it’s just a shame they had to cram so much shit into this one
Andrew: Great Spider-Man bad Peter
Tobey: Decent Spider-Man Great Peter
Tom: …who cares
@@ShhtickAndrew: bad Peter??? Your capping bro 😂😂😂
yeah but Sony does NOT deserve Andrew Garfield. and he doesnt deserve to be in a crappy sony movie
@@kadencastro8168 how is he good?
I think we were all "Oh no" when we saw the "I love Gwen Stacy & Peter" title for ASM1
💯 but everyone knows Andrew and Emma ha the best on screen relationship of all the Spiderman
Why 😂🤦
Oh man, she was set up perfectly for the heartbreak.
"This is my favorite"
"I love Gwen and Peter together"
Bro seeing her death in the theatre was insane the whole auditorium went quiet
omg yes I still remember that to this day
Gwen's death is a very huge milestone in the comics... and the interesting thing about how this movie portrays this is really amazing... the writer knows, and ppl who know this is Gwen's end... the writer is literally trying to stop time for Spiderman to save Gwen. He can't bc it has to happen for cannons' sake... and when it snaps, time goes by faster bc they can't stop it... its crazy
So many Multiverse-Spidermen, so there must be also a Universe for Peter and Gwen as Couple together forever.
@@demionwiesner3705 only the Earth-58163, which is the House of M universe (which exists only because Wanda created a reality where everyone of her loved ones gets to have their deepest desires granted). In that universe they have a family, in every other universe either she died or he did
@@wolfking4556 sad. Then Maybe its time for a new spiderman which get Gwen as Wife. MJ is cool, but i dont think that every Spiderman needs a MJ
@@demionwiesner3705thats similar to saying not every Clark needs a Lois…
@@markr8604 correct. Thats the reason why also Clark and Diana was a Couple
They actually went with an original comic story plot in this with Gwen’s death. She was killed by the green goblin, but the way they did it in this is beyond harsh. It still gets me till This day
How did the comics do it?
Goblin threw her off of a bridge@@jmhjmhjmh
@@jmhjmhjmhIt's nearly the same but it was on a bridge. The difference is that when Peter catches Gwen with the web he pulls her up thinking she's still alive. It was ambiguous what actually killed her. They actually had to print an explanation of the whiplash in later issues for readers. Peter doesn't know. He's not sure if he did caused it or goblin killed her. Here for film purposes they switched the ambiguity to either whiplash or her head hitting the ground.
In the comics, Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) throws Gwen off a bridge and Peter uses his web to save her. He believes he succeeds, and it isn't until he pulls her up does he realize that he didn't save her, and that the sudden stop caused her neck to snap. Her death is just as big a moment to him as is his Uncle Ben's and really shapes who he is as a hero and a person going forward.
48:59 To clear up some of your confusion: If Andrew and Tobey are two different versions of Spider-Man, it also means Green Goblin can have two versions too with different origins. Do NOT try to connect the two movie franchises, they each have their own timeline of events with the characters presented
^ this is correct and most of the villians you see are canon to the comics all the villians you see spider man has fought some point in the comics
Green Goblin exists in this universe because its a different universe. He has the characteristics of the original one from the comics but has different attributes that make him different because he isnt the original. And yes, Gwen does die in the comics at the hands of the Green Goblin. Her death is one of the reasons why Peter and Mary Jane become a thing. It was the grieving they shared over the death of Gwen that brought them close.
Edit: so I see people also speaking on Peter's parents from the movies. As far as I'm concerned, and someone can correct me on this: the origins of Peter's parents weren't too rock solid: other than the few times it was mentioned in the Stan Lee/ Steve Ditko comics that they were undercover government agents for S.H.I.E.L.D. and they served around the time of the Red Skull. Other than that, to my knowledge, there isn't a conclusive origin to his parents. The origin we are most familiar with in Garfield's movies is based on Earth 1610 Ultimate universe in the early 2000's. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on it though
this
this
and they actually shot scenes with mary jane in it for this movie but they got cut.
i wanted to explain something to *stef solari* about something everyone is missings from the comics(or dont care to mention): peter parkers parents both of them worked on the scientific projects during their "sting operation" for agents of shield, before the civil events in mcu universe/comics respectively. they did work for osborn corpation but eventually switch sides for the security and safety of young peter parker. dr peter had scientific research similar to the supersoldier serurm but with animal bonding agents(which norman osborn wanted however he didnt want to par dr parker for his genius mind and research do dr parker sent the samples he worked on "privately and off books" to agents of shield.) i dont know exactly what happened but they were killed protecting the serum either by agents from obscorp or a rival sting operation from backwaters of the blackmarket trade..
"what obsorn failed to realize was that dr parker was smart enough "the encode the serum to only work for people of peter parkers and his bloodline.) so when norman finally got a sample than used it on himself he ended up with cancer and turning himself into a version of the green goblin( harry osborn dawn his fathers mantel too however he ended being "the hob-goblin" with yellow skin red eyes and peeling scales/skin abrasions.. all part of the cancer inducing and animal genetics that clearly wasnt meant for the osborn bloodlines.
@@jebVlogs556 Not entirely true. The only time Harry ever becomes Hobgoblin is in Earth-1610 to protect Shield agents while battling his father. To which Norman beats Harry to death. Only in that very brief moment is Harry the Hobgoblin. The main reoccurring Hobgoblin seen off and on throughout the Spiderman comics is Roderick Kingsley. Who acquired the Green Goblin equipment from the thief George Hill who stole it. Kingsley looks different cause he modified Norman's formula to avoid the insanity effects and increase his strength.
People shouldn't blame Marc Webb for the failure of this franchise
They should blame AVI ARAD for stuffing so many characters for the sake of toys sales
Get Outta Here!
Agreed
to be fair this franchise is clearly beloved by many. It got a bad rap at the time but look at Stef's reaction, saying its her FAV of all the Tobey and Andrew movies... to date idk why it got hated so hard when it was released, but despite its flaws, its a great flick. Im sick of people calling this franchise a failure. It wasnt. It is loved, and it made a lot of money. It never got a third because the studio got mad at Andrew for blowing an important appearance.
@@Pacer1010the movie was not great…and this is coming from a huge Spidey fan, this movie had way too many things going on at once and nothing really got resolved or played out cohesively because of it. It suffers from a lot of the same problems spider man 3 had.

"Im moving to England"
* Stefs facial expression completely changing *
I laughed out loud so hard 🤣
Hans Zimmer knows how to set the right tone
The spiders had Richard Parker's DNA it's why it worked for Peter when he got bitten by one of them, the venom derived from the spiders didn't work for Harry because his DNA his different and it only accelerated his disease to the point of speeding the process and the Goblin suit is keeping his body stable, and a deleted scene shows that the suit does the walking for you if the body is too weak on it's own, that's why Harry was crawling to the suit from so much pain and changes to his body.
"In every other universe Gwen Stacy falls for spider-man and in every other universe it doesn't end will" (Gwen Stacy: Spider-man- across the spider verse)
Well, it's a first time for everything, right
... doesn't end well.
Most people don't like these movies, but I love them, it's my favorite Spiderman and Gwen is Spiderman's best love interest... I just love these movies.
and that’s fine you like them, but the first movie is okay not great, and this second one is just…..an abomination with its story and three villains
The suits and gadgets were made by Oscorp. The Green Goblin suit and glider was made by them for the military. I believe its explained earlier in the movie.
One thing a super hero movie finally got right. If you're falling at 120+ mph, it's the sudden stop that kills you. It doesn't matter what stops you.
Well...To be fair here it was more like the back of her head against the concrete but yea...that's true as well lmao
The Tobi Maguire movies and these movies take place in different universes so there is no "time frame" for the Doc Ock arms for example
One didnt happen before the other
If people think that comparing these movies and the Sam Raimi movies are the same timelines I’m sorry but they are Ignorant.
My favorite Spider-Man movie that's not animated or full of fan service. Glad you loved it
stef looking shocked in her reaction is the best part.
Aww she had no idea what was coming at the start of this movie lol
Stef, it might help to think of the Toby Maguire Spiderman as being in an alternate dimension. Harry here was just another version of James Franco's Harry (who also took up the mantle of Green Goblin in Toby's Spiderman 3). As for the Doc Oc arms in the background here, they were most likely setups for "The Amazing Spiderman 3" which never got green-lit.
Gwen’s death while sad was honestly done so well. It’s actually a comic thing Peter is fighting Green goblin but it’s on the Brooklyn bridge instead, goblin pushes Gwen off & when Peter goes to save her his web grabs her by the foot but the pull sandals her neck. I love Andrew as Spiderman a lot he has the humor down & just his body language in the suit is great you can tell how stressed out he is without seeing his face. & Oscorp is a thing in Spiderman stuff definitely check out Spectacular Spiderman of the 90’s Spiderman series
Stef: "This is my favorite Spiderman movie"
John Cena: "Are you sure about that?" 🤣😭
Gwen: I dump you. Reminds me of a line in the TV series Stranger Things, but is actually funny. If you haven't seen the series you should.
These are alternate universes. In some, they can be almost identical and in others, there can be similarities and key moments. Spider-Man movies and Amazing Spider-Man movies represent 2 of the many hundreds of universes contained in the MCU multiverse. For most people, it's best just to accept to avoid a stroke.
Spider-Man stories are packed full of action, explosions, great one-liners, and gut-wrenching heartache.
I wanted Marc Webb to have a second chance
But what I didn't wanted was to see him working with Disney on their live-action remake of SNOW WHITE
Harry is affected negatively. He had to wear the suit because he would die without it. It was like life support so he got the effects of the venom without dying
These are characters based on a comic book series. There's going to be some repeating themes
Talk about a Spiderman movie that was SO UNFAIR to STEF!! Why couldn't Gwen simply make it out alive!!! Heart Breaker. Don't forget the great chemistry and their music..........Our path is your path, STEF!!!! 😘❤
It is soooo refreshing to see Stef react to this movie for the first time. This movie continues to get a bad rep for being over-stuffed and convoluted, but for Stef to come away with such a visceral emotional experience and to say that THIS IS ONE OF HER FAVOURITES shows you just how much this movie has merit. Thank you Stef, you are a gem in the reaction circuit. I think you can see now why we were waiting for you to get to this one (especially after seeing your journey with MJ and Toby's Peter Parker). Thank you for your generosity, genuine spirit and great reactions. I look forward to your reaction to No Way Home!
You how the doc Ock and the vulture wings can be at oscorp you have to remember all of the technological advances were achieved at oscorp within the Spider-Man universe generally. In a similar fashion Stark tech is responsible for a lot of technological advances within the MCU. If you're wondering how Harry survived the spider venom. Harry doesn't have all of Spider-Man's powers and they go away completely every once in awhile because despite Harry's DNA being changed if not fully compatible with the Parker bloodline.
I love these weird little experimental Spider-man films.. it should have gotten a third and the true ending as well.. ..Andrew is just such a good spidey too, and Gwen's chemistry.. ..TaSM 💯
Having gwen as a girlfriend sure is back breaking.
🌑
Good one chatter
But it has a lasting impact
And unlike Bruce Wayne, she won’t rise again.
Oh snap
This is why we need TASM3 and Peter going back in time saving Gwen 💯🍿😢
Nahhhh that would cheapen this movie. I would love a third where he finds a new love years later, though.
we don’t need him to save Gwen💀. That’d be an extremely silly movie. We need to see him healed from that and living a new life.
I remember reading back issues in the 80s and coming across the issue that Gwen died. It was the first time as a kid I realized the stories weren't always happy endings. I also gained an appreciation for physics (in the comic her neck snapped from the sudden stop from Peter webbing her, not her hitting the ground.)
Awww if i could give Stef a hug i would 🥺 this scene broke me in theaters, like u jus weren’t expecting her to die….at all..
I saw this in 3d Imax opening night and when you hear the crack as Gwen breaks her spine you heard this ooh and the sound of everyone in the theatre was instantly sucked out in a giant gasp!
Such a genuine & heartfelt reaction to one of the most beautiful & heartbreaking scenes.🥺 Loved it ❤️💯
i actually love how annoyed/livid you got about it all. Cause thats how we all felt too
The death of gwen stacy is a really tragic moment in the Spider-Man comics
This vid popped up while eating my pizza . You’re face while max was talking to himself had me laughing hard 😂😂.
Also I think I see HP books in the background haha . Great reaction. Sub for sure .
There will be dark days ahead of us too and there will be days when you feel alone, and that’s when hope is needed most. Keep it alive.
So...Gwen Stacy died almost exactly this way in the comics. She was Peter's girlfriend before Mary Jane, and her death was a huge part of his character growth). The Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies combined elements of Gwen and Mary Jane into their MJ (until adding the weird Gwen INO in Spider-Man 3) to simplify things. When it comes to things like Oscorp and Doc Ock, keep in mind that the movie Spider-Men are two in-many-ways different adaptations of the characters.
I still remember when i saw this in the theaters i was like 9 and wore my spider man shirt all the time. And i used to have a poster too that i wish i could find
This movie is so good. Garfield is phenomenal, the music (Electro Suite), the shots of him webbing around the city, helping people, the drama, the hope, the boss fights.
As comic book fans we knew Gwen Stacy's fate, but since the movies tend to change things we werent sure if it was going to happen. So when Gwen died it wasnt a complete shock to us.
Also the dna in the spiders goes against what Stan Lee says about spider man. In these movies Peter is the bloodline of his father so he can only become spider man but officially anyone can be spider man under the mask. Its an actual famous quote by Stan Lee who created the character
Nah you made me tear up 😢 Gwen’s part was just too sad for me to see how hurt he was
This is one movie I've never seen....because I knew the comics and I knew Gwen's story. I could never bear it. Love your reactions. Thank you
That was so intense that I could feel u through the screen
The "not renewal of contract" is one of the only few weapons that can penetrate Plot Armor.
Can’t believe I wasn’t subbed yet! Loving your reactions👍
"This cannot be happening!"
Welcome to the life of every comic nerd from the 70s to 80s that read the Gwen Stacy Saga.
Starting next month all the Spider-Man Sony live action movies are coming back to theaters. One a week every Monday.
I really wish that they had made the 3rd "Amazing Spiderman" movie like they had initially planned. I love these movies. Watching these movies in the theaters was great. I really enjoyed watching your reactions to the Spiderman movies. I don't know if you recognized Peter's ringtone when he was hanging off the grill of the truck. 5:52 his ringtone is the theme song to one of the older Spiderman cartoons lol. I'm really looking forward to watching your reactions to the other Spiderman movies. Especially "Spiderman: No Way Home". Doc Ock's outfit and stuff that you saw at Oscorp was a reference to the other bad guys and the fact that Oscorp actually had a hand in making a lot of the stuff that the bad guys use. If you think back, Doc Ock, Doc Connors (the Lizard), Electro, the Green Goblin (Harry Osborn), and a good number of the bad guys have ties to Oscorp so it would make sense that a lot of the stuff would be there especially since Oscorp is one of the leading companies in new technology.
Gwen Stacy dying was a turning point in Spiderman's career as spiderman. It happened a bit differently in the comics but he was never sure if it was his fault. He almost murdered Goblin afterwards but had to pull himself out of it.
Andrew Garfield is one of the best male actors when it comes to showing emotion on camera... like Hacksaw Ridge was another movie that was so freaking amazing.
“we’re getting the save” LMFAOOO
The Gwen Stacy story is my absolute favorite comic book story of all-time. And I really truly appreciate Emma for bringing the character to life so well. But it's such a tragic story but it makes superhero stories more relatable whenever they do fail like that. We've all tried so hard at something and fail. It's really sad when we fail at something we want so badly but it's also about how we pick ourselves up and keep going.
So yes, the Andrew Garfield Spiderman movies are my favorite of them all. Tom Holland may be my favorite Peter Parker/Spidey but the Andrew ones are my favs.
And while I do appreciate what Sam Rami & Tobey did...they were kinda just very basic movies. I guess they were just going off the original Superman formula cause there weren't that many superhero movies. But the CGI and stuff that they did absolutely was revolutionary and laid the foundation for every superhero movie to come after it. So I do respect them a ton....but yeah, the movies were lacking. And I agree, Mary Jane was pretty annoying.
This is the best and the most emotional one yet!!!
U feel stressed because this movie specifically really dives into how spiderman is feeling but induces this sense of loss struggle and moral battles that he goes through. It’s basically movie about spiderman working through his trauma all while trying to keep everything around him together.
It did effect him negatively? That’s the reason he mutated and turned into a freak, that’s why he needed the goblin suit, it heals you over time
Man that movie makes us all cry at the end
Damn, i never notice the sound of her head hitting the ground realy till i just watched this. That sounded painful.
I cried too 😢😭
Idk why but the Gwen thing at the end reminds me a bit of the super hero show "Invincible". A really great show btw. Would love to see your reactions to it.
Those who have ever felt like a nobody can relate to Max. Everybody wants to be noticed and feel needed. Max didn’t turn himself into Electro, everyone else did. The world really can turn the nicest of people into the worst of monsters.
This movie was crazy in the theatre
Not only is his acting amazing, toby nor tom could've pulled off that scene the way andrew did. Gwens and peters relationship in this film is by far the best acting and chemistry wise. This film stayed very close to the comics which is why it's my favorite out of the franchise.
In the cartoon, Harry is Hobgoblin. They tease that with his orange grenade. It was cute but didn't make sense without Green Goblin.
Remember watching this movie when it came out. With Gwen dying, it affected me for weeks. Really liked Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy in this. And she's a really beautiful women. Kind of had a crush on her in this too; reasons I guess why I was affected by it so much. And that suspense where your heart stops at that slow motion part as she's falling, and he shoots the web, with the slow piano notes. You kind of hold your breath in that scene.
Andrew Garfield also is a fantastic actor; and his emotional scenes are gold. He really knows how to cry.
I loved the Andrew Garfield Spiderman movies and was upset when we didn't get a third movie
This is my favorite Spider-Man movie, hands down, obviously the other ones are really good,
This came as a shock to readers of The Amazing Spider-Man #121, The Death of Gwen Stacey. She does indeed die when the Green Goblin tosses her off the bridge in a manner similar to the film. Gwen is Parker’s first love and also the tragic victim. Her death is what brings Mary Jane Watson and Parker together.
As far as portrayal of characters go, Emma Stone’s performance of Gwen is probably the best of the film versions of Spidey’s love interests. So it still hits hard, even if you knew her fate.
In the Multiverse though, there does exist a Spider-Gwen AKA Spider-Woman.
I'm glad more and more people have come out and said how much they love these Amazing Spider-Man movies and Andrew as Spider-Man/Peter. I feel like at the time you would get shouted down by the Tobey/Original trilogy Stans when it's ok to love them all if you want to
It's easier to think of it as three different Spider-Mans. Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man, as they are a little different. Glad you enjoyed these two movies.
this one has the best web swinging imo
Harry was HobGoblin. One version of GreenGoblin from the comics.
Take this version of Harry is not the same as the Harry in Toby's version, as they are in a completely different universe. It goes the same as Dr Ock and every other similar character.
I guess your Patreon loves to watch you cry. Keep up the great work Stef.
gwen and peter is defo the best part of these movies. the fact that spiderman failed just subverts expectations so well.
i think there's real deserved room for a tasm 3 which covers the period between Gwen's death and Spiderman's return
I remember going to see this in the cinema with my friend jason and I jokingly said oh yeah gwen dies in this one faking a spoiler and then by the end I was and still to this day have always cried seeing that happen not only do I love emma as a actor but her part as gwen was great made me super sad :(
YESSSSS ,waited so long for
this videoooo ❤️❤️
the point regarding spider venom healing Harry... unfortunately due to the cancellation of the third movie A LOT of scenes got cut from TASM2, including one which talks about the body armour in a bit more detail, describing it's ability to heal the person using it, it briefly touches it in the film but doesn't make it remotely clear
She was in denial over Gwen's death for 2 mins of the reaction towards the end
the doc ock and green goblin gear are in oscorp because they developed it in that universe. the tobey macguire films are a seperate universe along with the tom holland spiderman. harry became this universes green goblin.
There's some cut scenes where his dad shows up in the end...
The thing about Gwen Stacy is that, in any version of her, in any story told, she is Peter's first love, and she is always his biggest grief. In the comics after he makes a life with MJ, he would still go every day into his attic and talk to her, her old recordings he had of her, and MJ knew this and supported him through it all. That's Gwen Stacy's story in any version of Spiderman. It's heartwrenching, and she is one of my favorite characters above all, I don't think I'll never not cry while watching this film, or any other that Gwen Stacy is a part of
48:26 “I have a headache.”
So does Gwen.
Great reaction as always
Assuming you haven't seen them yet, REALLY REALLY HOPE you react to Into the spiderverse and Across the spiderverse movies.
I went to see this movie in theatres during my first year of college and up to this day almost ten years later, the death of Gwen Stacy still destroyed me.
There’s a deleted scene from this film you should check out. It reveals that Peter’s dad is actually alive.
Great reaction! 😢❤
Yes Harry Osborne becomes the second Green Goblin in every single universe
The spider DNA worked well with Peter because of the DNA came from his dad. I guess what the movie implies is that if incompatible, it will turn you into a monster (green goblin)
Every Spider-Man film is just heartbreaking.
Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's girlfriend before Mary Jane. Her death greatly impacted Spider-Man and comic book universe in a major way back in 1973. She was considered part of his main cast, and it had a catastrophic affect on Peter going forward. Geen had been dead alsmost 3o years at the time of the Tobey McGuire movies were made. She was very likeable by the fans. And many hearts were broken when she died.
There was always a question as to whether she died because of a broken neck or was dead before she fell from the Brooklyn Bridge.
So underrated love this one and wish they had finished Garfield’s run properly
Almost hurt as much when I was a kid reading the comic! 😢 Still have the comic.
lol stefs too wholesome
this in my opinion is the best spiderman series of movies. and he is the best spiderman for me. the latest actor who plays spiderman is good and i love those movies too but for me this actor is my spiderman. i wish they would take this actor and age spiderman where he is older and has to deal with more enemies and more emotional problems.
