    The scene of him lifting the building off of himself is one of the most underrated Spider-Man live action scenes we’ve ever got. One of Spider-Man’s listed characteristics is his indomitable will, no matter what he goes through he never gives up. I love that they showcased that in this movie.

      Such a great scene, my first language is Spanish so in my country the dub did a really bad job and it turned out as a funny scene, everyone in the theater was laughing, when you're supposed to hear the emotional and fisical pain he's going through, they made a comic relief. I hated it, and I guess that's probably why in other countries it didn't get the attention it deserved

    When he screams “come on, Spider-Man!” hits me in the feels every single time. It makes you think of every time you, yourself, had to do something alone. No friend to help. No family to fall back on. Some things just have to be you and that’s hard and scary but you have to try. Love it.

      Homecoming really did the Vulture justice, instead of just having some old guy in weird bird suit controlling the birds or trying to get young he was just an honest worker who got bitch slapped by the higher ups. And him doing all this for his daughter safety and well-being makes him even more relatable.
      Basically, him and Sandman are very much alike in terms of their love for their children.

    Peter is one of the most powerful characters in marvel due to his various different abilities that complement each other. Peter has super strength that ranges from 25 tons to 250 tons if pushed to his limits. He also has a bit of super speed that can reach from 100 to 200 mph if he's crawling. Peter can also reach these speeds instantly without being in motion and no momentum due to his reaction speed being even faster with him being able to dodge lightning. His reaction speed only kicks in when his spider Sense is triggered. Peter spider Sense just doesn't give him alert of incoming danger it can also give him an omnipresent over everything in his vicinity. The spider sense is so sensitive it can predict not just physical but emotional trauma seconds to even days in advance. Despite that the sense isn't all powerful it can be tricked like with poison specifically built to disrupted or if Peter doesn't register someone as a threat like when Ned was waiting in Peter's room. Peter skin is as durable as Kevlar while also having a healing ability that could heal near fatal wounds within a day or two. Peter's greatest ability is his intelligence like the fact that he created his web shooters and a web fluid that has a tensile strength similar to a steel cable. Tony gave Peter a advanced suit which wasn't necessary and is actually stunting Peters potential.

    One of the things they don't point out is that Spider Man is a "meta-human." Meaning, he doesn't need a suit. He's heroic 24/7. Where tony dies like a bug without his suit. Spider man is considered almost impossible to kill, not just because he's tough, but he's almost impossible to hit (because of spider sense), so you can't really surprise him. So when a building falls on him, yes it is scary, but if t was anyone else it would be a disaster (except maybe Thor or Hulk.) In short, he's one of the most powerful superheroes in Marvel. He just doesn't act like it most of the time.

    • @CrazeeAdam
      @CrazeeAdam 7 днів тому +2

      I think Drax would have been okay. But he's not human either. Yeah. The MCU is majorly filled with mainly mortal heroes who are pretty human outside of a couple of course.

    • @PhilBagels
      @PhilBagels 5 годин тому

      At the time Spiderman was created originally in the comics, there were only three Marvel superheroes that were stronger: Thor, Hulk, and Thing (from Fantastic 4).
      In the MCU, I'd estimate that the only people stronger than Spiderman are:
      Hulk, Thor, most versions of the Ironman/Iron Patriot suits, Giant Man (Ant Man at full-growth size).
      Drax and Groot are probably about even with Spiderman in strength, I guess.
      Oh, and some villains and supporting characters, like Abomination and Odin are stronger.

  • @LittleGalaxyBoy
    @LittleGalaxyBoy 7 днів тому +43

    Fun fact Tom Holland is the only live action Spider-Man to be bitten at 15 years old just like the comics. The other two other Spider-Man films both featured a 17 year old Peter Parker getting bitten, skipping over most of his Highschool development and moving into College. Why? Well the original Spider-Man comics starting with Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) were High School focused but going into mid 1960s Peter graduated HS and went to College with these being the comics alot of people grew up reading into the 1970s. They also introduced some of the most iconic Spider-Man characters such as Gwen Stacy, Norman and Harry Osborn, and the first appearance of Mary Jane who was only ever mentioned. So summed up they made Peter slightly older so they could move beyond the High School period of his life.
    This Spider-Man is also much more connected to the Avengers at an early age, Spider-Man never had this level of tech you see Tony provide him during these films during his early years. Spider-Man in the comics began much more depended on himself with his first team encounter being the Fantastic Four in Amazing Spider-Man #1 (1963) with the goal of trying to join them thanking he'll earn so money. But that's not how things work and the F4 reveal that they don't actually get payed to be Superhero's. But they remained close with Spider-Man with the F4 memeber The Human Torch, aka Johnny Storm becoming a close friend to Peter.
    Peter would start getting closer with The Avengers but this was when he was in his adulthood. He would take part in the Secret War storyline from the 1980s, During Civil War (2006) Tony would create Peter an Iron Spider but Peter, unlike the film would switch sides and join Captain America. So the MCU very much brought a young Peter Parker into the world of the Avengers when he was only a few months as Spider-Man, still using his homemade outfit.
    This film though is very much inspired by those 1960s comics with Liz Allen actually being someone Peter crushed on during those 60s comics. The Vulture is also Peter's first supervillain in the comics.

      The Chameleon was his first supervillain in the comics in ASM#1 (until it was retconned to be Supercharger). Vulture first appeared in ASM#2. Peter graduated in ASM#28 in 1965.

    • @LittleGalaxyBoy
      @LittleGalaxyBoy 7 днів тому +2

      @@TheYoungDoctor I don't really see The Chameleon to be a supervillain in that original story so that's why I mentioned The Vulture as Peter's first real Supervillain enemy. Thanks for the date on his graduation, shows how fast they moved beyond High School.

      @@manmadetunao2597 Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 #240 (1983) goes over the origins told in Amazing Fantasy #15 with Peter stating that he was a sophomore (15-16) during this time. So I don't think it's a recent change in the lore, maybe they simply never put too much thought into how old Peter was beyond being a teenager in High School. But Peter being bitten at 15 pre-dates the Ultimate Universe by at least two decades. Maybe there's other examples as well but that's all I could find.

    Some background on Peter's school: New York City has several "specialized high schools" that you have to compete to get into. Three of them are for high academic performance. The real one they based the story on is "Brooklyn Technical High School" or "Brooklyn Tech", though for the movie they placed it in Queens. That's why Peter and the other students are all smart, and they have advanced shop classes and labs.

    I appreciated the impact of John Hughes' films on "Spider-Man: Homecoming" for several reasons. Firstly, Hughes was a master at capturing the essence of teenage life, and his movies often explored the complexities of adolescence, friendship, and the struggles of growing up. "Spider-Man: Homecoming" draws heavily from this tradition, presenting a relatable portrayal of Peter Parker as he navigates the challenges of high school while balancing his responsibilities as a superhero.

    Spider-Man was added to Civil War super last minute. The entire movie was mostly filmed before there was even a deal made to have him show up and by the time they were given the green light, they could only include him for a short while. So if you pay close attention to the movie, he can be edited out of the whole thing and it would change almost nothing outside of some of the fight scenes.

    One of the things I really like about that ending with him letting the villain live and in prison he then has his back and doesn't tell his identity, is that one of the Hallmark things about Spiderman that makes him arguably the best superhero is that he has a long history of actually reforming his villains. In addition to showing them mercy, he also visits them in prison. Many end up turning from their lives of crime in large part due to his efforts.

    To explain anything you might not know (btw i havent finished watching ur reaction so u might know this alr but im too impatient)
    Peter parker in the comics did get bit by a spider but the spider did not give him the ability to shoot webs biologically. The toby maguire movies added that in and people thought that was the original idea just cause those were the first movies. They also didnt put a backstory in this movie because its already a long enough movie and they figured everyone knows the peter parker story by now. And yes i believe this is where tom and zendaya met

    Spider man is without competition my favourite super hero since I read comics as a kid, I read other comics too but nothing compared to his wits, of all the spider men that I've seen in any movies or comics, the best depiction of the original was actually "Into the Spider-Verse", but it is hard to depict his perfectly in a live movie 🙂
    Tom Holland depcits the best Spidey so far in the live movies, not a total dork, just a kid having too much fun with his powers and not taking things seriously when he is young before he was forced to grow up, but even when spidey grows up, he holds to his ideals
    Michael Keaton(Vulture) used to play a super hero himself, he played Batman a long time ago

    Spider-Man villains names are
    Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture
    Hernan Schultz aka The "OG" Shocker
    Phineas Mason aka The Tinkerer
    Jackson Brice aka The Fake Shocker supposedly his villain name is Montana
    2 cameo villains played by Michael Mando and Donald Glover- Mac Gargan aka The Scorpion and Aaron Davis aka The Prowler who's nephew is a Afro Latino spider-man named Miles Morales. Recommended Spider-Man Into the Spider Verse and Across into the Spider Verse because the soundtracks of both movies are amazing like part 1 has old school hip-hop, reggaeton, and pop music and part 2 has r&b and modern hip-hop by Metro Boomin who is the second composer and made a little cameo in the second movie.

    We don't get another origin story/background on how Spiderman became Spiderman in the MCU because there have been two other Spiderman franchises since 2000 and also, he is one of the most popular (maybe the most?) comic book characters of all time, so they only gloss over it with a few lines here and there. i suppose the writers/producers/director just assumed that most of the people who would go watch this movie have an inkling already and the section of people who don't, can get it easily from friends, the internet, or other media. i'm glad we did not waste time with another version of Spiderman's origin, personally.
