Welcome to the Letterman UA-cam Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. These highlights have been artisanly-produced, carefully-curated, and chosen completely at random by an old computer that used to pick numbers for the New York Lotto back in the 90’s.
It's cool that Roy Orbison was willing to do this.
Roy couldn't sing nearly as well as Larry, but dammit, he sure tried. 🤣
The amazing thing about Larry "Bud" Melman is that he could do anything, and he did everything exactly the same way.
Larry simply “kills” it!!! Yeah Larry!!!😂🤗👏🏻🫶🏻🤸🏼
thank you. thank you very much.
No match, the board goes back. Genius.
Larry Bud sure knew how to rock!
Accidentally a comic genius
I miss this show!
5:02 Love the piano work.
LBM,. RIP. Burnin' love. Mate. 😇
That was absolute gold 🤣
Thank You for reading my message and finding this footage! Elvis was my distant cousin and even before I knew he was my distant cousin I always remembered Larry Budd Melman doing this! This is great! LOL
Nutty awesome!
So funny how Larry doesn't even acknowledge Dave when he leaves
He only does exactly what he was told to do.
That may be true but it's still funny.
As Merrill Markoe remarked, Calvin DeForest always committed to the bit. He’s no Elvis, but that doesn’t stop him from cranking it to 11.
I always confused Calvin DeForest with DeForest Kelly 🙃
@@chiefscheider I have a note in my iPhone memos that simply says “Jonathan Demme & Brian Dennehy”. I can’t keep the two of them straight to the point that I can’t remember the opposite name.
Same with Dermot Mulroney and Dylan McDermott. The list is endless 😄
@@chiefscheider Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton: I bet that it is even worse for Bill Pullman now.
“GASP! I thought you were dead!”
Lol yes
I don't know if they're on this channel, but I'd love to see the bits where 1.Dave made a college kid a "big man on campus" and Paul wrote a theme song for the kid. 2. Dave conducts job interviews (I remember one of the job applicants told Dave, "You kiss my ass, cowboy!", and 3. Dave went door to door in some neighborhood and found a kid who could "honk".
We had a recent show with Steve Winer, original Late Night Writer, and one of the guys that discovered Larry. (Calvert) You might like it. We certainly did.
Yes, on the program there is Jon Lovitz. Later on, music from Patty Smyth, and writer Gore Vidal. We will be right back. (Tosses a couple of pencils)
Does anyone remember when they sent Larry on a cross-country trip or something like that and he begged Dave to let him come home? It was so mean and uncomfortable but I think they finally let him come home before the bit was over.
From NY to Tierra del Fuego, it was the Goodwill Tour or something, there’s a video compilation of that here on YT.
Now we're talking.
I wonder if Calvin DeForest ever said "No" to any of their ideas.
actually not a bad impression of elvis in is last days performing
Nothing will ever be as good as NBC Dave. Not Conon. Nothing.
I would've been a grammar smartass and offered the last letter writer a veteran or a veterinarian.
these guys new how to tcb
Letterman had enough money to have his hair fixed.. Why didn't he?
Thank you (NOT) to you and your producers for perpetuating the image of "Fat Elvis" in a disgusting skit! As a long time Elvis Fan, I have shed many tears over the years of disrespect the entertainment industry has leveled at this extraordinary man whose talent and originality influenced music and culture despite his illnesses, demons, a greedy manager, and being a victim of his own fame. Watch the new Elvis movie for just a little education on the subject. RIP Elvis👑
