My Mom was raised Catholic. When she was a lot younger and before she had kids, she asked her priest or a fellow Catholic (can't recall) if they were Christian. They answered "No, I am Catholic". So, it seems to have also started in the Catholic community at one point. Her priest said a lot of weird things, though, like people who don't attend church on Sunday will go to Hell; when she asked about those in the countryside who can't make it to church, as it's too far away, he didn't have an answer. I'm not even Catholic. I started watching because so many Christians I know have nothing good to say about Catholicism and I wanted to hear from the source. Now I watch every post. I look forward to it. So much good information and perspective.
I was expecting to watch this and hate it. But you are really well spoken and I actually agree with what you say. I am thinking about going back to the Catholic Church after years of being gone.
Read Revelation 12. Study the apparitions at Fatima Portugal in 1917. Seek and assume no one knows anything. Become more. Compassion is NEVER easy to live, to be holy. If you can not go daily to His Holy Sacrifice, read the Scripture readings each day. Google "mass readings today". In 3 years, you will read the Holy Bible. More or less. Make Wednesday that day that you talk to our Lord Holy Spirit, all through that day. Seeing is being seen, understand. HE LOVES YOU, SPECIAL.
I know this is 4 months after you posted, and you might not see it. But I hope you have returned to the church. I have experienced similar doubts, but ultimately I have found the church by listening to the right priests. I hope you are doing well and your journey of faith continues forward. Also, if you are still doubting, I find that watching anything of the venerable archbishop Fulton J Sheen will immediately strengthen my faith.

I was frustrated a bit and baffled because, I'M A CATHOLIC and SHE ISN'T yet she's accusing us of things we don't do. Catholics do worship Mary though. So it's at least important you learn that. She's dead we should not pray to her. Catholicism as a whole goes against scripture.

Sacrifices ALSO Matthew 5:17 STATES It is no longer necessary to burn incense to approach God, as we read in Hebrews 9:11-14 as well. We should not be lighting up incense in church but every Catholic Church seems to practice this...

The whole "Catholics aren't Christian" is he funniest one. Like we are THE Christian tradition in line with Eastern orthodox. Protestantism was formed as a 'protest' to catholism, but that doesn't mean that it isn't the trunk that the many Faiths have split from
I fully understand that my Christian tradition (Lutheranism) was formed as a protest to what Martin Luther didn't agree with in the Catholic church. Like Henry the Eighth, Gustav I Vasa of Sweden had been raised Catholic, but turned to Protestantism for reasons that had more to do with secular politics of the day, than a spiritual need for religious reform. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I agree with you Alejandro, because I know enough about the history of my church (and about the secular history that happened at the same time) to see the absurdity of saying that Catholics aren't Christians.
laulutar Martin Luther taught for some time that when you die, you are not existing, no pain, no pleasure, but as in sleep, like how Jesus described Lazarus’ condition prior to resurrecting him back to life. The word Catholic means universal faith, it is an interfaith designed by the Romans to unite their citizens. One non Christian teaching is the immortal soul. Jesus was a Jew, and prior to the Greek introduction of the idea around 300 bce, Jews did not believe in an immortal soul. Martin Luther knew this ( so did William Tyndale) . “The soul that is sinning, it itself will die.” Ezekiel 18:4. Not a protest, rather a reformation to try and reverse that which was altered.
I watched this cause I'm not Catholic. I'll admit there are some doctrines that we may not agree on, but I'm trying to understand people more and that means listening to them even if I don't agree with everything they say. I really enjoyed this video.

The problem is in the fact that by your movie and music industry some very harmful influences of your way of thinking have come even to the Europe. What am I talking about? For example, if you are Christian and your denomination developed out of Catholic Church and you didn't took your time to do some research about Catholic Church (as it is, not as your media shows it), that's just poor and lazy... And that is the core problem of american way of thinking... It's the lazy way of thinking. Do you need any evidences? I'm now, as a usual Croatian guy talking to you in English... I could do it as well in German and partially in French, Albanian, or very poor Italian... And if i continue this text in Croatian, you wouldn't understand a word of language of nation that had forbidden slavery hundreds of years before Christophor Columbus was born.
I am an Episcopalian, and evangelicals often told me that I was just “diet catholic”. While there are some real differences, I never understood why they thought that was a bad thing. I think that it was really well put when you talked about how you don’t really know who will be saved, only God does . I think God calls each of us to know him in a way that we can understand, so when I see rich evangelical pastors here in the US that didn’t even go to seminary tell me I’m going to hell, I know that they are not speaking for God but rather themselves.
Thank you for addressing the “sin” of suicide. It means more than you know to see the people I have lost and those still struggling not be actively condemned via a secretary of God. Thanks for being a true blue homie of Christ.
The Bible says that taking away the life God gave you sends one to hell. This should not be about feel good Christianity but, about the truth of the Bible. With Jesus there are no half measures! With suicide one does not murder another human being but, kills oneself. For a temporary problem causes an eternal place of condemnation: hell. It’s not worth it! Love thyself and make sure you get in the right place! ❤️🙏💐
I always knew that the whole "suicide is directly to hell" was B.S. before I even did research. I mean, why would God make someone who had something like a chemical imbalance from birth, which makes them more likely to commit suicide, and then make that a very bad sin?
Suicide is NOT DESIRING Christ Most and ONLY. As in Heaven, done on Earth. Other matters related to health too. Taking chances that are dangerous, are NEVER of God. Unhealthy choices with the body, too. There are NO vacations on Earth. No Retirements, either. In Heaven they ONLY do the WILL of the Father. Our Lord's prayer. Not defined a vacation or a retirement, EVER. 'Then he said to all, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?" ' [Luke 9:23-25] ''Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?” He answered them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough." ' [Luke 13:23-24] How do you define yourself, the 'few' and not the 'many'? Who told you? Christ or a human. If Christ, how did you discern that spirit that told you??

When youre in trouble just listen to your heart.. thats where I always feel Gods love❤️
I didn’t even know about the myth “Catholics believe people who commit suicide go to Hell.” I grew up in the Catholic faith and thought a lot of suicidal thoughts, and I didn’t feel comfortable in the church at all. I’m so happy you addressed this and how important mental health is! All churches need to talk about it a LOT more!!!
It's not just mental health, its also with personal problems like school bullying, tragedies such as losing the last of loved ones or veterans who saw to much horrors but don't have PTSD they just "stably" remember and its too horrible either way. U lost everything and r left with nothing on the streets etc. etc. I have never believed that suicide is a one-way trip to Hell, God ALWAYS looks into the reasons behind it all or else it's just the act itself, and THATS a human problem that we need to fix.
The reason it was believed was that taking your own life is against the fifth command as it is murder. However A. Yes, suicide is technically a "sin" because it is murder, however that doesn't mean you will go to hell. God knows you and your life, he will not send you to hell for committing your own life when he knows the reasons behind it. Nobody commits suicide because they want to, they commit to ending their pain, that is something I believe God will never hold against you.

Since I am terrible at memorizing, I will save this video and share with those that like to argue with me and those who are in deep need of enlightening. Thank you, Father!
Deep and profound “Catholic” faith. So you’re faith is the church and not on Christ. Everything about Catholicism is unbiblical. God bless and hope your spiritual eyes become open and the veil in your heart is removed so you hear the truth.
My Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ, please read, the church has decieved you. Here's proof from the Holy Word of God. The Bible speaks for itself- "You shall not make for yourself ANY image of ANY likeness of ANYTHING that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth" (Jesus, Mary, and saints are in heaven, therefore statues and images of these are forbidden) Again in Deuteronomy 4- " since you saw no form of any kind on the day the LORD spoke to you out of the fire at Mount Sinai, be careful that you do not act corruptly and make an image for yourselves of ANY form or shape, whether in the likeness of a male or female, of any beast that is on the earth or bird that flies in the air, or of any creature that crawls on the ground or fish that is in the waters below." Also saints and Mary can't intercede for you or be a mediator. The Bibles clear- "there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:5 And again Jesus said- " I am the way, the truth, and the life, noone comes to the father except through me" Calling the Pope holy Father is blasphemy. Read the word of God here, where Jesus is talking about the priests of his day, and how people called them father.- "Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven' Matthew 23:9 (He's not talking about blood father's he's talking about priests taking the title of father" I can keep going on and on. I know Catholics are Christians who love God. But the Vatican is a wicked, antichrist system of deception, Paul warned about this in the bible
I was raised Baptist and have attended mass with some of my Catholic friends. I have never heard anything from the pulpit that I found contrary to what I already believed. The whole basis of the damnable Catholic teaching on asking Mary to pray for us is that she is very precious to God. No one has special privileges with God. Catholics believe that Jesus was some mamas boy. Whatever Mary wants , Mary gets. Its honestly disgusting , even lutherans as well with catholics believe that God could not come to earth incarnate without obtaining Mary's permission first. That is complete BLASPHMEY! It is honestly interesting that the "blessed virgin" of Catholicism is also call the "Queen of Heaven" by the Catholic Church itself ? Jesus said , "Ye worship ye know not what..." (John 4:22). Catholics have no clue or idea who they are worshipping, they claim to worship "God" , while idolizing Mary in every shape and form. Mary is literally praised over 2,226 words in the rosary and how many times do y'all do the rosary? Thats straight BLASPHEMY ! God clearly said "He would NOT share his glory with another...." Isaiah 42:8 Catholic priest are spiritual frauds, all of them. It is so gross their theological negligence for both Lutheran minister and Catholic priest to claim the power to absolve someone else's sins. They can't even forgive their own sins. Religion wants to keep us in a box, but the Lord wants us to open our eyes. Satan uses religion , the lies from all around the world to blind people from the glorious gospel ( 2 Cor 4:3-4). I truly pray that you won't continue to be one of satans victims, I pray that nobody will truly. I don't write these things, I do not go out and street evangelize these things to be hateful or unkind, God knows that. I have no hatred in my heart, God knows. Life is just too short to live with hatred. However, I hate evil, which is what we are commanded to do as a Christian, (Psalms 97:10), "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil; : he preserverth the souls of his saint; he delivered them out of the hand of the wicked." @@danhightower9500 I've heard this a lot, but I haven't found any proof that Constantine or whatever forced us to worship on SUNday to worship sun Gods, or that Christmas was stolen from Sun gods or whatever. In reality, early Christians couldn't cook food on the Sabbath, when they were at the synagogue, and they would often gather in their homes the next day (and every other day)! So they would probably take communion then, too. And pagan holidays were often assigned other meanings by Christians in PROTEST, or because they did some math and concluded an event in the Bible happened on a certain date. Do you have evidence to the contrary?
I am a convert to Catholicism from having been a Jehovah's Witness and they are HATED by Jehovahs witnesses. In their talks its always about how we are pagans and idolaters.
As an Anglican, this channel is so useful. We all love and serve Jesus. Next to the glory of God, our differences are insignificant. I've not always spoken well of other Christians and for that I am sorry. I fully intend to try defend my Catholic, Orthodox or other brothers from misinformed criticism in the future and your videos go a long way towards spreading the information and love needed in the body of Christ. I think misinformation is the biggest obstacle to unity. Thanks for all you do to counter this
@@elmcityslim As a Catholic of 59 yrs-formerly Anglican-post Vatican 2 encouraged a lot of horrible tuneless music and hymns to be brought into the Mass. The Church of England music tradition is very beautiful, and I think that it encourages Anglicans to sing with more enthusiasm and joy. I often attend Anglican services, mainly for the music. Their choirs are also generally of a very high standard.
Dear Daniel Jones, you have a generous and filial heart. You wish that we be in one home of Christ. What a beautiful thought! We need more people like you, so that we become one like God himself is one. May you be an example for others around you. Stay well and retain that beauty you have in your heart!
New to catholic faith and this touched on everything I have been learning in class and some more stuff that I didn't know I would love to see more of these Q and A videos thank you for the education 🙏
VinBe show me where the word purgatory or pope is the bible. And god specifically said you can’t have statues of anything in heaven or hell. And you take the parable of the last supper literally do you know realize this was only a physical parable? Jesus always spoke in parables and this was a parable. And you Catholics take it literally and think the wine and bread can save you. The the wine of his blood actually means his cup of suffering and endurance in the name of Jesus. And the bread is his word. Jesus was the word mad flesh. And he said he was the bread of life. His words and he are the bread of life he really meant. And you confess your sins to the priest and call the priest father but the only man you should call father is god not a man. The man cannot forgive your sins for he is not Jesus. And you can’t rely on him for your forgiveness. You have to build a relationship with him. You can’t do that when you make the priest pray to Jesus for you. The devil has deceived you. Repent and follow Jesus words properly.
My wife and I both attended ACT's retreats the last year or so. It has opened my heart tremendously, and gave me a love for Christ through my Catholic faith that I could have never imagined. I see my Church in a whole new light. The fact that I am even watching a video like this is a huge deal. The retreat is open to all denominations. Since ACT's has started in my area, we have had many protestant attendants either convert or drop their prejudges towards Catholics. The best thing is the impact of this retreat has never gone away for me. I have been to retreats and special functions of differing faiths my whole life. They either never had any impact or the lessons were lost in short order. There is something special about ACTS, and I encourage all to attend. It is not what you think. It changes people.
I have watched videos put out by Fr Mike Schmitz and I must say, myself being a priest, this young man's presentation, pastoral understanding and knowledge far exceeds that of others. Keep up the good work.
glad to have this video 🙏🏾❤️ sad to see people came here to purposefully still be ignorant especially on the mary topic. i hope they stop being so closed minded. it was nice hearing this talked about so clean and clear!
This is the first time I actually hear religious person admits there is an actual fault in his religion's body and system that needs to be addressed... I respect your honesty and humility
nope no part of this video admitted anything of their faults of sorts, they don't admit worshipping mary/saints, they dont admit worshipping idols made of wood, stone/metal. They dress them put them into wheels because they cannot walk or talk or dress themselves. They declare saints like they are God which he is the only one allowed to do so not some human cult hahahahaha truly idiotic.
@@marcjanverdelantar9605 well truthfully I dont hold anything to churches and other religious bodies any activities that are totally harmless to anyone. I mean.. I only think idols are meant for extending human's limited imagination. Its hard to imagine divine figure let alone worshipping one without a help an image. But things like child abuse, indoctrinations, behavior manipulations and other kinds of manipulations that might be facilitated by religious bodies be it on purpose or not do matter and incredibly harmful so I take these things more seriously than the idol part
@@yudcrazy4964 fair enough, unlike you i do hold things against cults who practices lies and say they base their religions on the Bible while doing what is not suppose to be otherwise. And the result of that is your grievances e.g. child abuse, indoctrinations, behaviour manipulation which leads to things that are incredibly harmful. Idolatry may seem like a small thing to you or to many humans, but it is a grave thing to God equated to abomination in scipture.
@@marcjanverdelantar9605 I understand your point and I agree that practicing lies (which is defined as something without strong evidence presented as fact or truth) is inherently not good..But then again... Some people do gain actual benefit from being religious.. it gives them some purpose of life and even placebo effects in medical treatments (which placebo is a real thing). I say its a compromise... Honestly if you take measurement of lies and truths from Bible or any other scriptures, you are falling in the same "sin" as those people you condemn telling lies because most things presented in Bible are in the same level as other scriptures in term of accuracy from evidence.
What an excellent channel. I love your straightforwardness with every issue you discuss. Many blessings to you, and *ALL* our brothers and sisters around the world--ALL!
We should be respectful but on judgement day I am glad I don’t have to explain why I followed a popes teachings and prayed Rosary’s to Jesus mom when he NEVER taught that
Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
The Catholic church is so wonderful as it teaches you to be proud and humble at the same time. I am proud to be a member of it and i am humble that i have so much to learn before i hit 'finish'. Particularly, i am thankful to my parents for giving me the greatest gift of all, that is Christ. Thank you for making the day better for me :)
Although I don't doubt the Catholic church teaches you to be proud and humble, I think this can also be learned in other forms of Christianity and other religions, but also in common ethics. Why would you need Christ to understand how to be proud and humble at the same time? I'm not religious but I am still (although I'm not really the person to say that) humble and proud at the same time.
Pride came before the fall. And when you’re a proud catholic, you won’t listen to a man that God sends to preach the true Word of God to you. You rebuke him and belittle him. That’s what pride does to you. And when you’re standing infront of God Almighty on The Day of Judgement, you won’t have have any excuses to say you were warned because He did send you His servants to minister unto you the Truth of the Gospel.
The Madhuri claimed to be proud to be a member of the Church. That is not a sin, nor even a fault. Pride in one's own achievements, a sense of being better than others is a sin. Pride in the Church is admirable, because the Catholic Church IS better than any other religious organization . It is the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. The only Church that Our Lord Jesus Himself established. I, too, am very proud to be a member of the Catholic Church.
I"m happy to see this. Whether or not I completely agree, I am happy to hear well thought out reasoning defending a position, and happy that, at least in this case, the Church is responding to its perceived flaws directly.
That’s a shame Catholic Church worships the god of this world Satan Popes are not your holy father Mary is not Queen of heaven or even a Virgin Mary had many children
I really appreciate your explanation about how mental illness is viewed now versus the past. I wasn't aware that the official view of suicide had changed from "unforgivable." The recognition of the abuses in the past is honest, thank you. I'm not Catholic, but I like the discourse that you promote. I thought that I wouldn't find any myths I didn't already know, but this was educational. Thank you.
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus? That explicitly says no salvation outside the church Which in essence would mean that only those in union with the catholic church can be saved
I was reading my bible at lunch one day and a co-worker told me they thought Catholics weren't allowed to read the bible. We talked and I invited her to our bible study. She never came but you have to take your victories however small where you can get them.

Im an episcopalian, but catholicism is my next favorite denomination! Love from the usa. Why the hell are we fighting about denominations? At the end of the day what should unite us is the love of jesus
It is because there is an actual TRUTH that exists. If each denomination has different perspectives on the truth, only one can be right. As a catholic, of course I believe that Truth is taught by only the catholic church. Although other denominations are right about many things, they have views that don’t fully align with the church that Christ established. We should all seek the full Truth, which is why denomination is important.
@Order Of The Black Crossall Patriarchs are equal. For traditional reasons pope could be ''primus inter pares'' or first among equals. But not in the questions of faith. For your information, Rome reasently abolished title Patriarch of Rome, probably to hide the fact that Pope is only one of patriarchs.

That's the logical consequence. Bad for you. And now the rambling begins, because I'm using the a-word: I consider myself agnostic, I do not believe in life after death. I simply cease to exist. So no hell for me, good for me.
@@charisma1015 I guess you should the Bible first. And I do not talk about the convience product you're probably using, fully translated into English. To make the claims you are making, you would have to read to original sources, otherwise you may base your "debunks" on a translation made by a fallible translator. Oh, that takes too long and you may, in the end, find out, that some of your believes are simply wrong, because of wrong translation? Oh my bad... By the way: how do you know that the Bible and your believe is not made up by the devil? According to the Bible, he's the biggest deceiver of them all, how would you know for sure that your own believe is not the greatest deception of them all? Let me guess: it can't be because.... it can't be.
I am Protestant and not Catholic, however I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS defend Catholics whenever that subject of “Catholics aren’t Christians” comes up. I may be a member of a Protestant church but I love church history, and the church fathers, and the martyrs and I’m kind about it but I absolutely don’t let those comments slide.
I'm curious, and grateful for your sense, if you are a student of History how have you not conceded that the church of Christ in history is Catholicism or at least Apostolic Catholic Orthodox not necessarily Roman.
One of my favorite analogies that has resonated with me is the being stuck in a well, Christ doesn't take us out of the well, he's given us the ladder so that we can climb out and be saved, it's our job to grow in holiness and become closer to him through our actions, faith without works is dead
Death is Life. Growth is Living, called NEVER Easy. Or you would own and be owed Heaven now. The temptation of the worms most is making LIFE, an Easy. To exist within. Compassion never allows the EASY.
Only actions are sinful, not feelings and attractions? Really? How about this: " But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28)
Can't you understand a difference between experiencing feeling or attraction you eventually can suppress as you should, and totally different thing - taking an action consisting of looking on a woman to lust after her? It is true that we can sin with thought, speech and deed. But each of these pertains to our actions and definitely not to transient instinctive feelings.
Michael Gogo so the main church that started Christianity back in 400 AD is not a Christian organization? It’s the one that both orthodox and Protestant Christians broke off from, in what was is it not Christian when they accept Jesus as their saviour who died for their sins to let them enter heaven?
Fr. Casey is simply inaccurate about Catholic teaching regarding sinful thoughts. Don't judge Catholicism by one careless statement from one person. I feel confident that in my years in a Catholic high school and university I got that teaching right. For instance, I recall looking into the St. Anthony Missal, specifically the examination of conscience section, which includes a question about harboring lustful or other evil thoughts. Moreover (if memory serves), the Baltimore Catechism defines sin as "any thought, word, action or omission contrary to the law of God." It makes sense, too: evil thoughts soon become evil intentions, which of course lead to actions. I haven't bothered looking into the more recent catechism. I'll leave that to a Catholic. I am no longer a Catholic but an agnostic humanist and longtime Unitarian Universalist, but I agree that harboring certain thoughts can be morally wrong.
Garlapati Bannu so if I have intrusive thoughts that I have no control over and they have me thinking sinful things that I do not want to be thinking, am I sinning?

I came from a devout Catholic family....my parents+ were both 'catholic' in words and in deeds. I myself have been so catholic that i joined almost every church organization including being a young acolyte... but when i became older i tried to 'experiment' joining other churches simply because being catholic is a sin...but with God's goodness and grace i'm now back to where i should belong....being catholic again.... More power to you and God bless you more!!!😇....from Catholic Philippines!😁😊🤗
This makes sense. Although I still have many questions that needs answers, people like you make the process of understanding Catholicism a lot easier. Thank you for that. Currently, however, I'm still Protestant : )
I've been Catholic my whole life, and I went to(/am going to) Catholic school for the entirety of my schooling, including college. And I can confirm that there are, in fact, a surprisingly high number of Catholics who truly believe some of these myths, and who then teach them to other Catholics. Particularly the one about only Catholics going to heaven. I had a few teachers and professors who both believed and taught this, and it gave me a fair amount of spiritual turmoil. Heck, if I remember correctly, when I was really young my *parents* believed that, or at least told me that. I don't know if these people actually realize the inadvertent harm they can do to their fellow Catholics with these incorrect teachings, children in particular. It seems to be something of a problem particularly among lay people, and likely comes from insufficient education in the faith. This video gave me comfort and peace, as I finally have a clear answer to questions that have plagued me for years. God bless you, Father!
You are right. I taught in a Catholic school for a few years and I agree. Especially the beliefs involving the saints and the Blessed Virgin Mary. I found myself as a rather High Church Episcopalian clarifying the doctrines of the church to the Catholic students.
@CodingCrusader1095 I consider myself to be a very conservative Anglican Catholic (not Roman) and usually don't favor modernist theology but I don't go so far to say everything in the past is infallible. Archaeology and the discovery of new information may change our interpretation of the Bible and the teachings of Christianity and not just Catholicism.
@@coconut4825 A Roman Catholic is an actual member of the Roman Catholic Church and accepts the Pope as the spiritual head of the church. An Anglican or Anglo Catholic is part of the Anglican or Church of England of which the Episcopal Church in the United States is a branch. The term catholic means universal and includes all Christians. An Anglo Catholic, sometimes called "high church " accepts many if not most of the doctrines and liturgical practices of the Roman Catholic Church, more so than the "low church " Anglicans and Episcopalians who lean more toward Protestantism. Anglo Catholics do not recognize the Pope as their spiritual leader as do actual Roman Catholics. In an Anglo Catholic parish you will see more of the characteristics of a Roman Catholic parish such as the frequent use of incense, recognition of seven sacraments, stations of the cross, exposition of the blessed sacrament, statues of Mary and the saints and other practices found in the Roman Church. Within the many different denominations of churches some such as Episcopal or Anglican and Lutheran share more beliefs and practices with the Roman Catholic Church than say Methodists or Presbyterians who in turn are closer than Baptists and Pentecostals. The Eastern Orthodox are probably the closest. Anyone with a better answer or can add to this please sound off. Hope this helps.
This video actually educated me a lot and really made me understand the catholic faith more. I greatly apologies for my biases and the myths about Catholicism that I once believed.
@FaithnCross Where is the FIRST installment of the Holy Bible? What date? And What was that Source? Christ did not hand His Apostles, the HOLY BOOKS. Only His Authority, Matthew 16:18-19. None OTHERS. The Holy Bible gives no authority to anyone, but to LIVE it! Only the Roman Catholic Church established the HOLY BOOKS. No other source. Who gave you authority to speak. Better be HIM. Because i am.
it amazes me when people outside of the Catholic faith say things like "but you didn't ask God to come into your heart... or "when did you ask Jesus to be your savior". Clearly, people asking these kinds of questions do not understand the Sacraments. I mean literally every sacrament involves us inviting God into our hearts and the fact that Jesus is our Lord and Savior exists in every moment of being Catholic. I really wish people understood the faith before pointing fingers.
However, I hate evil, which is what we are commanded to do as a Christian, (Psalms 97:10), "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil; : he preserverth the souls of his saint; he delivered them out of the hand of the wicked." May God bless you and open yours and everyone else's eyes to the truth, Amen.

Akhrie-o Kire Jesus didn’t leave us the Bible. He left us the church. The church that he built on Simon Peter, our first Pope. Through apostolic succession we have had many more Popes but still the exact same church. You quote scripture and pretend that Catholics aren’t the ones who put the Bible together. Pretend that the Bible isn’t named after a Catholic saint. The Catholic Church is the one true church. The Church that Christ built. Don’t speak of man made churches and forget to mention the 7,000 different Protestant denominations that can’t seem to agree on anything due to the fact that it was a man who started their religion. The Catholic Church was started by Christ himself. The rest of the thousands of Protestant sects were created by Martin Luther 1500 years later. I fell the same way but fortunately we have now a lot of channels groups on line and you can connect with Catholics around the world. It is really awesome
@@iedesnoekFrom the Protestant perspective, they believe the Holy Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and therefore naturally is inerrant. Then when they see the Roman Catholic Church with statues everywhere and calling the priests "father" and a veneration of Mary they automatically assume it is a corrupted institution whose claims to be the Church of Christ is a fraudulent mechanism to trick the ignorant into its satanic ranks. Even you as a Catholic can understand that these superficial observations can be taken the wrong way without explanations given. Which is why you must convince a Protestant from the Bible itself, much the same way the Lord Jesus Christ refuted Satan with the Scriptures that he too had twisted (in that case however Satan did it maliciously. But it is insane to think there are no sincere believers amongst the Protestants, who simply don't know any better). This should be easy, since you also believe the Scriptures to be divinely inspired and in unity with your church. You would therefore permit that the RCC does not and never would disobey the will of God, and that His will is expressed in the writings of the Bible. And God doesn't change. Truthfully then, if a church is found in opposition to God and what He ordered in the Scriptures in ancient times, it is unmistakable proof that it isn't His approved church. Me personally I would like to know why you are Roman Catholic instead of the other schisms (like the Eastern Orthodox for example). I mean we all know about Matthew 16 with Peter supposedly becoming the rock because God revealed to him who Jesus was (and later was inspired by Satan, which makes me wonder why that isn't taken with the same level of appreciation as when God inspired him). But there are other verses that seem to contradict the Catholic claim of Petrine supremacy, I'll give you some= *Galatians 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.* That makes them even. And this mention of James first gets even worse because we know James was the one that gave the verdict at the Jerusalem council= *Acts **15:19** Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:* And from Peter himself= *1 Peter 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:* So he puts himself on the level of the others. I mean even the Protestants concede Peter was one of the leaders, it's indisputable. But even if we said the Pope is the direct line from Peter, why is he allowed to change the creed with the filioque when the rest of the church says no it cannot be changed (which is actually what they all said when the creed was invented hundreds of years earlier)?
Thank you father for this, this is helping me a lot. I'm in my second year as Catholic, I'm happier know. This is what people ask me all the time, it's irritating sometimes.
I absolutely loved this. I leaned about most of this in my confirmation classes last Lent, but you really cleared up a few points. Welcome home! Please come to the Traditional Latin Mass and offer Cardinal Marx to Our Lady of Garabandal. He is destroying the Church in Germany. Pax Domini.
Ausgezeichnet! I hope your enjoy your experiences in the Catholic Church. It is a living organism and is still growing and changing. I find it a real blessing to -- finally! (since the 1960s) -- have the Mass in the vernacular rather than in Latin. Like the earliest Catholics, we are now allowed to pray as a community in our common language so that we know what we are saying without needing a book to translate the words of the liturgy. I hope you find truth, holiness and joy in the Church.
Run away from the Catholic Church! They teach lies! Their doctrine will lead you to hell! Reciting repetitious prayers, kneeling down in front of statues, praying to Mary, all these doctrines are traditions of men not God. Read the Bible instead and pray to only Our Father in heaven for all truths!
Nice work. I am agnostic but I am Italian, born and grown in Italy, so Catholicism is the only religion I have ever known. I find your explanations very sound . The only point I disagree with is about science. Of course the Catholic Church has never been against science : as you explained Galileo taught in a catholic university, the father of genetics was an abbot, and there are many other examples. But it is true that in the past the Catholic Church tried to control knowledge (index of forbidden books docet), so I don't think Galileo was punished only because he stated what he couldn't prove definitely. But we must consider that in the past all the institutions used censor to thwart ideas that they considered dangerous, both lay and religious institutions, and both catholic and protestant institutions.
We Catholics are very blessed to have our Church. To me, the Church is like heaven's foreign embassy on Earth. Whenever I'm there, I know that I'm on heaven's ground in our earthly existence. It assures me of my salvation. P.S. As Christ said, be glad when persecuted because of me. So, I happily welcome the foolish ignorance and attacks on my Faith. Praise be Christ and his bride, The Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church. Amen.
@@genealogyoftheholysword3815 I think most of us are frustrated by the Pope. His office is legitimate by Apostolic succession, so we have to deal with the fact. As a Biology professor at a Catholic university associated with the Benedictine Order, I can testify from experience that the Catholic Church is very supportive of science - evolution, Big Bang cosmology, etc. In fact, Catholicism has become perhaps the most pro-science Christian denomination. In 2009, I participated in an international conference at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome on the topic of the church and science, especially evolution and the Church. We had discussions and presentations from Cardinals, priests, theologians, psychologists, and scientists on this issue. The Church affirms the validity of all science. A funny incident based on misunderstanding: I once mentioned that I teach evolution at a Catholic university and the person almost whispered, "Do they know about it?" I laughed. I was assigned to teach an evolution course which fully embraces the discoveries of science. Even the Pontifical Academy of Science has strongly endorsed evolution. It is a misunderstanding to say that science and good religion are at odds. I am very proud of my church.

We're the only Christian religion founded by Jesus Christ. Not some other human on earth

There is a huge Differences between Christianity and catholicism
Jesus Christ Ministry Not really. And before you start diving both religions do yourself a favor and save it.☺️✌🏻
I didn’t even know about the myth “Catholics believe people who commit suicide go to Hell.” I grew up in the Catholic faith and thought a lot of suicidal thoughts, and I didn’t feel comfortable in the church at all.
We need to take exorcism seriously. No question that countless suicides could have been prevented if there was a timely intervention.
Read the bible brother it will help you to stay away from suicidal thing
Yeah that made me feel good too.
I wish I could memorize this whole video, because I always seem to be on the defense when it comes to my deep and profound Catholic faith.
The Bible speaks for itself-
"You shall not make for yourself ANY image of ANY likeness of ANYTHING that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"
(Jesus, Mary, and saints are in heaven, therefore statues and images of these are forbidden)
Again in Deuteronomy 4-
" since you saw no form of any kind on the day the LORD spoke to you out of the fire at Mount Sinai, be careful that you do not act corruptly and make an image for yourselves of ANY form or shape, whether in the likeness of a male or female, of any beast that is on the earth or bird that flies in the air, or of any creature that crawls on the ground or fish that is in the waters below."
Also saints and Mary can't intercede for you or be a mediator. The Bibles clear-
"there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
1 Timothy 2:5
And again Jesus said-
" I am the way, the truth, and the life, noone comes to the father except through me"
Calling the Pope holy Father is blasphemy. Read the word of God here, where Jesus is talking about the priests of his day, and how people called them father.-
"Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven'
Matthew 23:9
(He's not talking about blood father's he's talking about priests taking the title of father"
I can keep going on and on. I know Catholics are Christians who love God. But the Vatican is a wicked, antichrist system of deception, Paul warned about this in the bible
I was raised Baptist and have attended mass with some of my Catholic friends. I have never heard anything from the pulpit that I found contrary to what I already believed. I will admit to being taught some of these untruths from others who were as ignorant as I was.
This video was refreshing and eye opening. Many of the questions brought up and the answers given, were simple, direct, and hopefully dispelled some of the false teachings about my brothers and sisters in this faith.
Exodus 20:4 '"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

Yeah I am Baptist as and may have slight doctoral disagreements with our Catholic Brethren but that also occurs with other Baptist sects. The video was very well done and shows me that at least we do have a foundational commonality and the Catholic Church is not the monster that we are sometimes led to believe
This means so much! Thank you for listening! I grew up in a very Southern Baptist area and have been called many things since I'm a Catholic. I have been to lots of Baptist services with friends. While I'm not necessarily comfortable in Baptist services since it's out of my comfort zone, I agree with what is said and can appreciate how people worship differently. I thank you for listening and for keeping an open mind!

Welcome home! We love you!
God clearly said "He would NOT share his glory with another...." Isaiah 42:8
Catholic priest are spiritual frauds, all of them.
However, I hate evil, which is what we are commanded to do as a Christian, (Psalms 97:10), "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil; : he preserverth the souls of his saint; he delivered them out of the hand of the wicked."
May God bless you and open yours and everyone else's eyes to the truth, Amen.

Why are you so stinky?

Since ACT's has started in my area, we have had many protestant attendants either convert or drop their prejudges towards Catholics. It is because there is an actual TRUTH that exists. If each denomination has different perspectives on the truth, only one can be right. As a catholic, of course I believe that Truth is taught by only the catholic church.
"Only actions are sinful, not feeling or attractions" hm.
Yeah that was kinda lame
It is not a sin to feel sexually attracted. It's what u do about it that matters.
"Sin is an utterance, deed, or a DESIRE contrary to the eternal law." CCC 1871. Sin includes more than just actions.
Instinctive attraction is different from an attraction that requires lusts.
Ditzy.52 except you’re wrong.
Only actions are sinful, not feelings and attractions? Really? How about this: " But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh
on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28)
Right.God's word will never adjust to our sins.People tend to create an "ideal" God that will soothe their sins.

@@DavidSmith-sb2ix what's the difference between roman and anglican catholics?

If you take it as truth, it might make sense, unfortunately it not all true and correct.
it amazes me when people outside of the Catholic faith say things like "but you didn't ask God to come into your heart... or "when did you ask Jesus to be your savior". Clearly, people asking these kinds of questions do not understand the Sacraments. I mean literally every sacrament involves us inviting God into our hearts and the fact that Jesus is our Lord and Savior exists in every moment of being Catholic. I really wish people understood the faith before pointing fingers.
God clearly said "He would NOT share his glory with another...." Isaiah 42:8
Catholic priest are spiritual frauds, all of them.

But there are other verses that seem to contradict the Catholic claim of Petrine supremacy, I'll give you some=
*Galatians 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.*
That makes them even. And this mention of James first gets even worse because we know James was the one that gave the verdict at the Jerusalem council=
*Acts **15:19** Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:*
And from Peter himself=
*1 Peter 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:*
So he puts himself on the level of the others.

The only point I disagree with is about science. But it is true that in the past the Catholic Church tried to control knowledge (index of forbidden books docet), so I don't think Galileo was punished only because he stated what he couldn't prove definitely.

Also, Catholic Church Estimated Worth: $30Billion USD
It must be some American thing.

"Also, Catholic Church Estimated Worth: $30Billion USD" in one state probably? Definately not the entire US, right? The Catholic Church just in Germany was estimated at € 500.000.000.000 (500 billion) and growing fast.
Agnostic here, I find it funny that the only people I've ever heard "Catholics aren't Christians" from are all Christians. (Probably different branches as I can't remember for all of them specifically.)
