You should do a series on the different parts of the mass, and why the priest does what he does during those parts.

Father, can you say a little Prayer for my Aunt Maureen. She's 69, and had bladder Cancer removal. Five days later, she's in surgery right now. Don't know why, because her friend is emergency contact. She told me they scraped the tumor out, and gave her a shot of Chemo. Whether she developed an infection, I don't know yet. I ask you to please pray in Jesus name that she pulls through. I've lost her sister, my father, and mom within the last 7 years. I know her time is not long, since she's 69. I just ask that God spare her for a few more years. Death is horrible, and we can speculate whether an actual Heaven exists. The truth is though, nobody knows for sure what awaits us on the other side.. Thank You Father Mike.😇😇😇😇

      @embelslishments 4 роки тому +16

The collar is just an old fashioned collar that was standard in Europe a few centuries ago, so when it started out it was also to do with simplicity & modesty but it's just fallen out of normality since. Some clerical shirts have the modern triangular collars but now the old style has become a cultural signal that the wearer is an ordained priest so most keep the old collar! ♡

I call myself "a catholic converted to catholicism" 😄 This works for me so maybe for you too: try to know more about catholicism by using youtube. Ex. following this channel or others (i follow channels in spanish because that is my mother tongue so sorry for not giving you some) and ask God guide you while you are knowing catholicism. Then you could go to the RCIA program in a church close to your home. After that, make your decision. God bless you 😊
Ps. About the RCIA program: in my country we are mostly catholic ( Colombia- South America) so we dont have the program or maybe we have it but it is not that common. But I was living in Canada last year and every church's newspaper invited people to the program. Now I am curious about it because I think it must be great. An other beautiful thing i discovered in Canada is how seriously they take catholicism and how active they are in every parrish. My convertion was there and I went to many churchs to the mass (I discovered the real meaning of the mass many years ago, thanks God). I am not saying all this to convert you, just because i wanted to share my beautiful experience. God bless you 😊

Hi Alexandra, some of these replies I didn't feel expressed God's mercy as well as they could've, so I thought I'd post my own :) I have zero clue on your own situation or if you ask purely speculatively, but I just want you to know children conceived in any situation are beautiful and reflect the Glory of God. Though intercourse is reserved for marriage, God doesn't love moms who got pregnant outside of marriage any less than when they were virgins. He's so good, and He is always eager to forgive in the Sacrament of Reconciliation... and thank goodness for that, because God knows how much I need His mercy :) I just wanted to make sure it's clear that shaming unmarried moms, post-abortive parents and dads, and children born from wedlock has no place in the Church. We want them to find healing and forgiveness in the home that belongs to them, the Catholic Church :) Wishing you all the best!

It depends on the order you join (diocesan, missionary, etc.) In general, it can take anywhere from 6-12 years to become a priest. When my younger kids were little, they got into an argument at Mass. Here was a 4 year old and a 3 year old arguing whether a priest was in persona Christi when vested or all the time.
"He's a priest, his name is Father, and he comes to our school," said the 4 year old.
"His name is God, but he's only God when he wears the tablecloth. All the other times, then he's Father," the 3 year old retorted.
As they are 21 and 19 now, I'm sure they have a better grasp on the subject.

I can help a little with that. So, very broadly, a diocesan priest is assigned by his bishop to somewhere in his diocese.
A religious priest is assigned somewhere on the planet by his superiors.
In both cases, there can be a conversation about what your skills are/ where you could be best used - but the decision would be ultimately be up to the superior in either case.

And it all centers around sacraments sacramentals and blessings. Other than acknowledging adoration and worship to God when we genuflect make the sign of the cross and things of that nature what does bless seen actually do or mean? What do sacramentales mean and are they really so different than sacraments and blessings? And the something external actually go on when we are participated in these actions or things? And if so how Do I understand that?

Baptism: you may now recive other sacraments and you are washed from original sin
Sacrament of Order: you are now a Priest
Marrige: you and your lover are united and will seek the heaven for each other
Confession: you repent your sins and you want the forgiviness of God and the strength to not sin again
The Body of Christ: you recive in the mass, the Blood and Body of Jesus
There is another (wich i do not know the name in english) that you recive when you are about to die, it gives you the strength to repent your sins in this hard time, there is another that gives you the Holy Spirit and 7 gifts to help you be better these are the sacraments that help us to be Saints.
Blessings are gifts God give us, we can ask for them in prayer for us or for others, everything is a blessing, you can speak, hear, walk, smell etc...
