So NO, he has NO feelings falling in love a woman only thoughts or mind for he already loved us before we exist, he already plan us to marry us ALL before he is born through Virgin Mary.
@@lavander961 I would like to add something so that others arent led astray. In Catholic teaching, it is not sinful or lustful to think that a man or woman is beautiful. It becomes sinful when you see them as simply an object of pleasure. See (CCC) paragraph 2351. Due to the incarnation, God became man, and Jesus is fully man and fully God. Becuase he is fully man, he experienced the emotions of humanity. John 11:35 states that Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus. In Luke 22:44 Jesus is in agony over the thought of his passion and asks the Father to let the cup pass from him if it is His will. Sorrow and fear are human experiences that aren't intrinscally evil, and so is attraction. Therefore, it is possible that at some point during his life, Jesus felt attracted to a woman. However, since Jesus is sinless, he would not have veiwed her as a object of pleasure but as a beloved daughter of the Father. God Bless!

I think a lot of people think that this life requires way more sacrifice, but choosing a life of romantic love and family ALSO requires sacrifice. You have to be able to sacrifice some pleasures and personal freedoms to do either. God called humanity both to “be fruitful” AND sacrifice the self and serve humanity. Neither is better or worse than the other and both can be used to glorify God. I think you having this channel and gently explaining your life the way you do is amazing and inspirational! I hope one day this way of life isnt such a mystery to people, and people can appreciate it
No, we just channel, or TRY to channel that energy into helping others. I clean at a Christian nursing school, for example, THEY pay my needs. I have never driven a car in my life, but I have a bicycle. I use public tranportation, when necessary. It needs to be coordinated, according to when I need to be at this or that place, but it is not a impossible. I have lived a life of chastety for 24 years, and I just have so much PEACE. And freedom! No break-up dramas, no crazy phone bills, no sleepless nights because of crying kids. 😄 But: LOTS of time helping the homeless, the old and the likes, sometimes even councelling younger folks. But the best is the purpose. We choose to live like this, to create a center of the divine purpose: Serving God and trying to be a humble, hard-working, loving Christian under the guidance of The Lord. Make sense? 👋😀 ✝️🕯🌐💒🎁 🍞🐟 🦁🐑 🥰 🌹☘

I think thats something that is beautiful about humanity; there are some of us called to romantic love and families, and some that are called to help humanity. Most frequently it means anyone who follows one of the natural Indo-European folk religions. To dumb it way down: We who call ourselves Pagans believe in Odin, Thor, Zeus, Iupiter, or the Dagda than and the respective pantheons of those Gods more than we do in Yaweh, Yeshua, or Allah. which is what makes it so weird this video showed up for myself and the original commenter.

Thank you for being so open and frank about your vows. You answered a lot of great questions for future priests and brothers and simply curious lay people. I believe the word "poverty" might throw a lot of people off as it doesn't seem like the reality of your vow matches the connotation most people have in their minds of what poverty looks like. When I hear "poverty", my mind immediately goes to an image of destitution and desperation. A life where you don't know if you'll have a roof over your head next next month, and you may or may not have food on any given day. A life where one has exactly zero discretionary income. The life you are describing sounds more to me like a blending of detachment, minimalism, and communal living. @@DebbieD7777 I was surprised to hear that people were still going into the priesthood, convent, and monastery. It was nice to stumble across this video.
My late Grandfather entered the church at 14. He was a priest for over 10 years, upon which he took a job as a teacher and met my grandmother (who was engaged to another man) who was also a teacher at the school. They formed a beautiful friendship and he went against his family's wishes and left to be with my grandmother. Until the day he died in 2018 (at 81) he remained committed to his faith and helped so many lives. He is remembered in love and even though he was an amazing brother, his whole life was still devoted to God and Catholicism and his family. The love him and my granny still share is holier than anything I know. This was a great video to watch!
So he broke his vows and his love of God was not strong enough. But nice story about your family 👍🏻

I hope one day this way of life isnt such a mystery to people, and people can appreciate it
I don’t know how people vow to chastity for life. Until marriage I can understand, but life sounds really hard.
We choose to live like this, to create a center of the divine purpose:
Serving God and trying to be a humble, hard-working, loving Christian under the guidance of The Lord.

I see your point though. You made some great points I just think we can help others WITH our spouses too.
I think thats something that is beautiful about humanity; there are some of us called to romantic love and families, and some that are called to help humanity. @Acroselorator it comes from the Latin word paganus or patriam, meaning country.
However it basicly is an umbrella term for anyone who does not follow the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam.

Absolute obedience is a hard one, l think. But what helps me, is to ask yourself, what would Christ do? Also prayer, and the power of it.🙏
Giving to the poor those who have less than myself, l believe teacher's me to not be greedy, or selfish with what has be freely, given to me by my wonderful creator.
As for chastity, just like everything else it's a choice.
No one forces you to keep it. But when you do, you see what a wonderful gift it truly is.
Thank you for this video, l feel you have discussed, these subjects with dignity, and integrity.
God bless you!
Im sure, you make the Lord proud.
Keep walking tall, and stay safe.

Ahh I see he once had a Twitter account...
He still doesn't

His Upon Friar Review channel has videos of him and another friar reacting to Christian memes from Reddit. Nobody gets through Reddit unscathed.
You are rich in many ways, you are a happier person than most of us.
Thank you for the video Father Casey, I'm in the Discernment Program for the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and you answered some questions that I had! Your videos are always a learning experience for me. Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel the terms wouldn't be so confusing if they were more illustrative of the lived reality.
A wrong connotation people have about the evangelical vow of poverty then, but brother Casey’s on this video answers were quite clear🙏🏽😇
"...the difference between you and me, really, is not that I have somehow mastered my temptations and never fall to them but rather that I am much more open about my sinfulness."
This is beautiful.
I wanted to become a nun as a child. Unfortunately I fell into the pit of filth 😆 Married with two kids and absolutely LOVED this video! I knew a priest who fell in love with a woman and it really messed his journey up but he was so open with our parish about his journey.
Yeah I knew a priest who fell in love with a Woman, she was not a nun. It was called The Thorn Birds😂
Blessed Carlo Acutis, pray for this mission! We make this prayer, on advocracy of the immaculate heart of Mary, by Christ our Lord +
Amen 🙏
Interesting to see your perspective. I'm raised Baptist so I can connect with some of your points.
Impressive and generous video. Thank you 🙏
I honestly have a hard time wrapping my head around how we all have accepted money as if it was some natural force.
A terrible game of pretend we're all playing our whole life long.
Faith is such a curious thing.
I still can't wrap my head around how some people can have that much faith on the unknown. Though since I know it gave some people comfort, I'm not against it.
The search for wisdom and truth are very known things, that's what faith is about.
@@sergiowinter5383 I thought we called it science.
@@fartyfat6539 science is for developing new things and increase your inteligence. Inteligence is the knowledge of the things around you, wisdom is the knowledge of how should you live your life.
It’s a very strong teaching in the Catholic Church that faith and reason must always compatible. Albert Einstein even said that “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”
@@fartyfat6539 Science has always been promoted by the Catholic Church. It is in no way incompatible with faith. Catholics believe that science explains the world, and thus gives us a better knowledge of the Creator. That is why the Church has always been very pro-science. What the Church rejects is "scientism", or the belief that all things can be explained by science. The irony is, that the very statement "All things can be proven by science" is inherently a philosophical statement, which cannot be proven by science. The Church maintains that there are truths in things that science cannot offer an explanation on.
