Noel is one of the greatest musicians of our time. He is more of a Beatles-mind. Weller is brilliant too. Both are legends. Brit-Rock-Gods. But Albarn ... he is one of us. And his voice maybe not that potent in terms of pro. singing. But he has something unique. You cannot learn this. It always chills everybody down. And he was never aiming for the stadions. He is one of the most innovative artists of all time. One of my favourites.
Damon's the better songwriter, no doubt in my mind. Or he didn't flame out as quickly as Noel, maybe that's it. The first two Oasis albums have some amazing, classic songs. But since then there's been, well, nothing. Nothing great anyway. Whereas Damon's been putting out fascinating, weird, catchy stuff for the last two decades, not just in Blur but in Gorillaz and his other side projects.
