Totally agree with you. Tbh prefer Tony over Alan White doing the same shitty shuffle on different BPM for three albums straight.
Tony is more punk, but Whites style probably worked really well in studio as the layers of guitar dubs multiplied with each album session xD

Alan could bring Noel’s mounds of yak-fueled guitar noodling back down to Earth and make it sound middling. Tony could make their early driving rock songs sound like they simply had to be reckoned with as he forcibly pounded patterns neither too dense nor too deep; it was simply exactly what was needed to make them larger than live.

    Acquiesce"
I don't know what it is that makes me feel alive
I don't know how to wake the things that sleep inside
I only wanna see the light that shines behind your eyes
I hope that I can say the things I wish I'd said
To sing my soul to sleep and take me back to bed
Who wants to be alone when we can feel alive instead
    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
And I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    What's sleeping in our soul
There are many things that I would like to know
And there are many places that I wish to go
But everything's depending on the way the wind may blow
I don't know what it is that makes me feel alive
I don't know how to wake the things that sleep inside
I only want to see the light that shines behind your eyes
    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
And I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    Because we need each other
    We believe in one another
I know we're going to uncover
    What's sleeping in our soul
    What's sleeping in our soul
    What's sleeping in our soul
    What's sleeping in our soul
    Sleeping in our soul
    'Cause we believe
    'Cause we believe

    "(It's Good) To Be Free"
Head like a rock spinning round and round
I found it in a hole sitting upside down
You point the finger at me but I don't believe
Paint me a wish on a velvet sky
You demand the answers but don't know why in my mind (in my mind)
    There is no time
The little things they make me so happy
All I wanna do is live by the sea
Yeah, little things they make me so happy
But it's good, yes it's good, it's good to be free
So what would you say if I said to you
It's not in what you say it's in what you do
You point the finger at me but I don't believe
Bring it on home to where we found
Head is like a rock sitting upside down
In my mind (in my mind) there is no time
The little things they make me so happy

tony was always the best drummer for Oasis, he just needed a few lessons to evolve, It was a shitty thing they did to him, met him once in a pub in Wythenshawe, you could tell he was still gutted by it, he was talking about his new band and how was still doing music, I'm a musician myself and I've been fucked over a few times by bands and managers, I really felt for the guy, my little brother, who is friends with tony, was like "this is our kid Jason, he's a singer and a guitar player, you should get him in your band " I never entertained the idea even for one second, we are about the same age, my time to be a rock star was 20 years ago, I did wish him all the best luck in the world though. good night , he was a nice guy.

    Miles from home when
    Something hit me
    Somewhere right between the eyes

    You took your last chance
    Once again I
    Landed, stranded
    Hardly even knew your name
    I wanna talk tonight

'Bout how you saved my life
You and me see how we are

    And you make sure I
    Eat today you
    Take me walking
    To where you played

    I'll never say that I
    Won't ever make you cry
    And this I'll say I
    Don't know why I
    Know I'm leavin'

I remember reading a glowing review of an American Oasis gig from part of the WTSMG? tour, and it said that Guigsy "made Bill Wyman look like an acrobat." Hehe. I always thought that was pretty funny. But yeah, otherwise, Oasis got a pretty good review out of it, so ..

Contrary to all the other responses to your original comment (who clearly didn't read it properly) Liam claimed in the interview for the Wembley gigs in 2000 that he doesn't remember the words for the 2nd verse so just repeats the first verse. Obviously the CHORUS is sung by Noel due to the high notes

Can't help thinking this was one of the last runs for Tony. After reading his book you can really see the personalities.
    Liam - dude
    Noel - control freak
    Bonehead - neutral
    Guigs - sly backstabber
    Tony - cast out.
Definitely best drummer most punk out of all. I think the worst was Zak Starkey imo.
