Happy New Year! I can't wait to start making videos for 2021! More projects to come!
This bike sold about a day after I posted it for sale, so unfortunately it is no longer available.

Thank you for all your support!
Stuff like what you get your hands on are stupid money over here in england.take them old cr's for instance .everyone wants the old motor x bikes i see them goin for ridiculous money.
hey Joe,, how much you get for it? I have a mint 1964 benly baby dream 150 twin cylinder single carburetor
Have a great year my friend! All the best to you and your family
Why take the carb off b4 you know if it runs or not? Cool bike though.
happy new year to you bud
My dad bought one of these cheap about 8 years ago in non-running, but amazing visual condition. He gave it to me about 5 years ago to get running, and I replaced plenty of worn out components and got it to idle around a bit, but struggled to get it running properly. It's sat for a few years now but I'm getting some motivation to tackle it again after watching this!
I had this exact motorcycle. Got it April 68 when I turned 14 and always think back to that summer as the best of my childhood/early adolescence. Freedom in red. Could get almost 60mph with a strong tailwind.
I had one exactly like it , same color, brings back a lot of memories. One day my buddy and I were going down the river and he had a Honda 90 and I drove off in a deep spot and my buddy was up on the bank laughing at me and I yelled at him to get his ass down here in the water and help me get it out!!! It took me about 2 hours to get it started. I drove that little bike all over , it was a great little bike.
It was your grandfathers, don't sell that bike. Keep it , find an exhaust, get a battery, straighten the foot peg , and use it as a bike to get doughnuts on
I would never sell that bike. Keep it in the family of u got the spare cash for it
It’s a Honda ! It’s like having a Swiss watch ! They are definitely bulletproof !
My twin brother and I pooled our cash and bought one for $100 when we were about 13. I still have dreams about going out in the garage and finding it there. So cool to see one again.
In 1964 my dad brought home a frame and a bushel basket of parts for the 50cc version of this bike. A few days later, my brother-in-law and I had it together and running. The rear tire was bald so I bought the nearest one I could find, a knobby scrambler tire. I rode it year-round in snow, rain, or extreme heat and it never let me down. Of course, I was riding it illegally because I was underage but I never got caught. I was brutal to this little bulletproof bike and it never complained. I ended up selling it when I got my driver's license and had access to the family car. Since then, I've owned many bikes of all sizes, styles and origins. Now I'm an old man on a Sportster. Still ridin'.....
Kudos to your Grandfather for taking such good care of the bike.Very nice
Your grandfather had some pretty nice toys! Living the vintage life!
That little bike scoots right along. Much cooler than a moped. Happy New Year!
By far best audio intro and camera work yet my friend, I felt it👍😎
That thing is a beauty. A little tip, it might seem like those oily fingerprints on the tank are insignificant but if left, they can potentially damage that original paint. You should give it a wipe down from time to time.
This was the bike I learned to ride as a 12 year old. Not the exact model, mine was a 66’ 90cc. I’m surprised the old Honda didn’t start on the first kick.
It had enough power to pop wheelies pretty easily and I was able to pull nearly 60mph out of mine. Thanks for the memories, man!!
That bike is amazing, it’s still running great 53 years after it was made.
In the early seventies, my first bike was a Honda 55. Wonderful little motorcycle. I did not know anything about motorcycles, engines at all, but it bent a valve one time and I fixed it myself. It was so simple nobody had to tell me how. No, I did not use a torque wrench or a feeler gauge, LOL.
I have one in black, awesome bike to ride around town was my grandfather's
That's awesome!
Thts so cool
I've certainly never seen a black one - must be really rare
@@BattlecatRed Most of those in GB are black but they were usually 50 or 90 cc models, it seems the 65 cc model was for the American market.
I had one they run for ever if you reasonably look after them.
@@viviennehateley1843 Thanks! I had a black 1965 Super 90. I loved that little bike. Poor little thing, I was young and didn't maintain it as I should have. I drove it into the ground...
I had one as my first street bike.
Looked exactly like that except lower flatter bars.
Super Rare!!! Immaculate wow!!!! Sweet, gold mine, get er running kid!!!
Great find. They are fast bikes for what they are. I miss those small displacement Hondas, I wish they'd bring them back.
This next year they are bringing back small displacement Hondas. There ya go
@@TroyRosenbaugh well it's about damned time. Of course they'll be priced out of this hemisphere....
Bro you find some of the coolest stuff. I live in a big college town and never find anything good.
You should be keeping this one bro forever
Wow what a clean bike. If it's a 1965 then it's 2 years older than me and looking a hole lot better. I think you're grandfather has washed and polished it every weekend since he got it. Keep up the great videos. 👍👍
When you're starting a bike that's been standing, if you squirt a bit of 2 stroke gas into the spark plug hole, itll help lubricate the piston and save your bore. New battery would be nice, but the battery on these bikes is there more as a regulator than anything else. New petcock rubber, 5 bucks. New petcock, 20 bucks. Sweet little fun bike should be good for another 50 years if kept lubed up properly...
😀👍
You should buy it from your grandfather and just keep it. Maybe some day little Joe would like to ride his great grandpa's bike
Was there ever any doubt that honda would run😂
Not at all my friend not at all
The cam is behind that casing a bolt runs through the centre from the other side of the cylinder head.
I was cringing the whole time he was hitting it with a screwdriver and hammer. I guess that's how we learn.
Such a beautiful, well taken care of bike.
My first bike, at 14yo. Great video.
Awesome bike man I've been following for several years now and its great to see how far and the mount of knowledge you have gained i have also learned a lot from watching you...happy holidays from our family to yours ✌
My brother bought me a 1970 model Honda XR-75, we got it from my friend, he raced motorcycles. He upgraded in his class and sold it to me. It went 45 MPH. I know it was bored, and had a larger carburator. No telling what else was done to make it fast. I had a blast on that bike. Some twin friends of mine got Honda XR-80 bikes, but they could not keep up with me. It was so much fun! I would like that own that bike.
Nice to see a vintage bike live again
Was nerve racking watching you take the cam gear cover off the bolt is on the other side I wish you looked before giving up or hitting at it
Was about to say the same thing
Haha same here
Me too was saying it to the TV hahaha that's why it's good to have a manual handy sometimes
And the oil gets warm it goes by the carburetor it's not a 2-stroke or it wouldn't have valves
That all doesn't mix with the gas Einstein it tells a carburetor manifold when it's warm only it's a 4-stroke
I had one just like it. 1968. Great little bike, rode it everywhere back in the late 60s. It never let me down.
You meet the nicest people on a Honda!
Had to start laughing hard at the "oil light" comment. Beautiful machine, just started looking for one of these and all the CA sizes
Dude your Grandpa got you a Yamaha RD350 for your very first bike??? LOL!!! brother you have the coolest grandpa on the planet! And happy New Year by the way bro!!! Now stay safe and healthy and continue making those videos brother!✌
Yes, I wish had his his grandfather. I bought a Honda MB5 (50cc two stroke) as my first bike in 1982 with money from babysitting neighbor kids and my paper route. I did love that thing though and put 14,000 miles on it with zero problems. I ride a Honda VFR1200x now and only drive Honda’s and Acura vehicles.
He has no idea what hes working on
Probably needs nothing but a new plug and fresh fuel and a battry and hes done
Dont ever touch the valves ever leave it there set from.the factory never touch
He wants to check the valves and dosent even know what hes setting they need nothing it's to pld leave it if he brakes any thing he will.never find parts
I had a similar bike, a 1965 Honda Trail 90, model CT200E in school bus yellow, with a cast iron push rod engine horizontally mounted. It ran great and never broke down.
Buy it from your grandpa and keep it in the family those things are getting really rare and hard to find in that excellent of shape. One of these if you have kids you could pass it down. Thing is a time zone.
Man, I'm from Russia. And I like what you do. 😏Good luck in the new year
Honda have always been the most reliable make in the world👌👌fact👌👌👌👌
Wishing your Grandfather a get well soon. Wow, classic motorcycle in great shape. The wife looked pretty comfortable - makes a great anniversary gift.
All's well with you try'n to help Gramp's out......but you definitely need a crash course in Honda Motorcycles. Your young and have a way's to go yet......keep plug'n along, and good luck.
This was my first bike when I was 16. The UK ones had flat bars. The line to the carb is for oil heating the carb. If it's removed the carb will freeze up in cold conditions.
Thank you. He can figure it
Love the videos keep up the good work and have a great new year
Great to see something different instead of dirt bikes.
Watch the intake valve as you turn the engine. As it begins it close, the piston is coming up to top dead center. Put a soft probe into the spark plug hole or watch for the piston coming to the top. You are now at TDC. Valves can be adjusted at this point.
My uncle has one that is just like this he had fully restored, that line is a crank case vent, just like on a car it uses the vacuum to help with blow by
I had a 1970 SL 70. Engine looks pretty much the same. I put 1000 miles on it the 1st week I had it at age 13. What a blast I had on that machine.
Those are highly sought after collectibles. That one looks very original.
We have 2, (50cc “Cubs” )- 1965 & 66. In the family for 40+ yrs.
Nice score 👍
Its a mix between Derbi antorcha and Montesa impala, beautiful! 🇪🇦
I have a z50 that my bosses old friend put one of these 65cc motors on it and it's an absolute riot, I bought it last fall. The oil lines on the carbs confused me more than I'd like to admit but after some research it's to add a little heat to the carb. Great video!
The year was 1978, Christmas day. Had been telling my mom that I wanted a dirt bike all year long like all my friends had in our neighborhood. So my mom walked us over to the neighbors house where she had kept mine and my Brothers Christmas presents hidden away for the last couple of weeks. The drum roll sounded and the garage door lifted as I could just imagine jumping and racing against my friends on the track behind my house... but when my and my Brothers eyes finally gazed on the
sight before us, I could have swore we heard
the happy days song playing in a not so happy rendition. For me, a black HONDA 65, and for my older brother, a blue HONDA 90.
My mother must not have known the difference between a street bike and a dirt bike. But we all have to play the cards life deals us. That HONDA 65 looked pretty
cool flying off the jumps behind our house with the white vinyl wrap around the seat
and the rubber on chrome fuel thank pads!
But when it Landed on that stupid swing arm front suspension, I don't think we were saying to ourselves "Thanks mom for the Dirt Bikes"!
Very nice little honda, wouldnt say shes been sat 50 years, id say shes been messed about with at some point, those cheap jubilee clips on the intake manifold are abit of a giveaway
Dude, you need to keep your grandpa's Honda! I own a 1968 honda cm91. Same Vintage as me!
Hey Joe happy new year buddy and also i want to say that bike is a diamond my dude.... Wish you the best
Doctor!!!! Excelent!!!! ..... Greating from Chile!!!! Happy new year!!!
I really like your Grandpas bike, I have a 1967 Honda CL90 that is similar to that little gem, but is more of a scrambler style with chrome fenders and telescoping forks. Fortunately I have an original Chiltons shop manual for all the information that you were fumbling around trying to figure out. My old Honda isn't as sweet as that one, but it is in very good shape and has been stored since the early 1970s out of the weather. The children of the owner didn't like the original color (red?) and took the bike apart, painted it green, and like is often the case the kids were not able to put the fairly new bike back together again. They soon lost interest in their project and the parts were stuffed into a couple of boxes until I received the Honda and reassembled it with the help of Chiltons excelent book. I was able to locate a few missing parts at a local motorcycle salvage yard, but the rubber parts were pretty rough so I never started the engine and took it for a ride. I owned a Harley Davidson at the time, so cruissing the Honda 90 not a big priority... Then life happened, and I got old as dirt, so I need to sell my old Honda just like your Gramps.... maybe I should make a video like you did?? Best of luck to you young man with your channel. Thank you for sharing that great vintage bike.
I actually cringed when I saw the adjustable wrench, glad you came to your senses. I'm a new subscriber and love the videos, keep em coming. I actually use these to teach my grandkids about bikes. Sorry, don't give you credit, they just think old grandpa is really smart. Lol
that cringe… same here!
Oh my god, this brings memories! Many a Polish biker from the 2000s onwards started their motorcycling and motorcycle wrenching career on mopeds with Chinese copies of this venerable horizontal-cylinder Honda engine! It's called 139FMB
I love these old Honda scooters! Reminds me of the Super Cub.
I also cringed when you started prying and beating on the cam cover.
Yep it's through bolted
My firs bike was a '68 Honda S65 exactly like that. I went on to other bikes and gave it to my brother years later who then sold it.
Wish I still had it!
That bike is beautiful!!! And BTW, I saw the Tacatc up for sale on Ebay. PLEASE don't sell it. Its an amazing bike!!!
No it’s Not. I can’t find it on eBay
@@hennessyremy4970 well i saw it so....
think you should buy this off your grandpa for Jade she seemed to really like it and keeps it in the family
Me and my mate got hold of cub 90s effortlessly 20 years ago, we would ride them hard all day long, summer after summer, I had a mint red economy c90 with electric start! That model fetches a few grand now, craziness
You were showing out with that thing. Not all of us have a grandpaw that gave us a bike that nice. That was the 65cc not the 50cc the big boy bike. I'm old and I remember those old bikes. They were what dreams were made of when we were kids.
I'm an electrician and I just seen one of these bikes in near mint condition in a guys barn in Texas. So I had to watch it.
i just heard you say honda dream bike and i just went down stairs to tell my dad that we need to finish the honda dream bike we have had it sitting in our garage in pieces for close to 7 years
I owned a 65 in 1969. Bought used for $100.00. Road it through the summer of '69 and bought a '69 Suzuki T125 Stinger for $475.00. Only had to replace the Honda's generator. The bike would start and run without a battery. For a small bike I was surprised how heavy it was.
Nice bike! I got a Honda C70 step through moped virtually same as that except it's a 3 speed semi automatic so no clutch 70cc, engine and head basically the same from outside it's original 1980 here in London England, done 25k miles in its first 10 years then hasn't moved since 1990! Was mint until few years back got left out in rain unknowingly and rusted away pretty much everything other than frame and engine so I want to do a full restoration on it when I have the time and money bit of nostalgia as I had it since o was 15 when my cousin gave it to me he was first or second owner so want to keep it in family sentimental reasons, Honda Cub biggest selling motorbike ever made 140million sold I think worldwide but remember as a kid my mate had same motorbike as this one you're selling not in this condition though it was old then and we'll used but it wasn't terrible like an antique light blue/green and chrome from memory.. nice bike! Think if it was me I'd have to keep it 😎
Yes... i had a 1974 st90 with that funny 3 speed trans and no hand clutch... shift pattern was 3 down... the original "paddle shift" concept... it only did like 40 mph
You can soften the old rubber with brake fluid. Makes wonders.
I wouldn't say it hasn't ran in 50 yrs, but that thing is totally pimp! Should be worth a small fortune.
You should buy it from your grandpa and sell one of the others.
Just for information this has a magnetic flywheel so does not need a battery to run. The Honda 90 such as CT90 do require the battery however.
thank u so mutch that is what i was trying to say
You get your hands on some right gems ....
He does here in uk prices on these things r nuts
That sounds so good just like a Honda grom!
We've got one of those in our basement, super cool seeing the same bike but in action.
These are a rare duck! Honda didn't sell a lot of them; most people stepped right up to the 90. Really cool, though, one of the first OHC tiddlers. Really nice.
Gotta get some heat in that garage....best thing I ever did...."Happy New Year" You should buy that and keep your Grandpa's spirit going! Nice bike to collect! Keep it ...you will be glad you did!....If not let us know when it's listed on Ebay.
home made waste oil heater works great
Hope it goes to good home and is properly looked after not mucked with, credit to Grandpa for looking after it good. Honda Cub are very popular and sell for a good price!!
Definitely a super cool rare honda
Man, the engine sound is crazy good!
I would recommend on bikes like this that havnt run in that long to fog the cylinder with some fogging oil before turning over like that after sitting
Started it in gear, good sign. Check oring in sediment bowl to they go bad fast!! 🎉
Damn you’re picking up so many bikes and quads I can’t keep up with all the builds did he finish everything???
Amazing shape for the age. sure it's going to be slower than snot, but it would make a good town cruiser.
I had one of those as a kid. It was black. I tore it down in the garage to replace a gear with a broken tooth. My dad came home and saw the engine in a bazillion pieces and freaked out. I was 12. I got the exploded diagram from the library. Put it all back together and we used to ride it up to the El Cajon speedway double up. I ended up being a mechanic on bikes, cars yachts, and heavy equipment for about 15 years.
Little 6 volt battery like my 125 has. Your lucky, i would love to have one of those to work on. And not broken crap. Sweet!
Very cool model ,fond memorias
I got a proper set of tiny signals from one a scrapped years ago, just got the engine and signals left, I like that those bikes have a clutch
I think that is the model that was fitted with a belgian made push rod engine. Later ones had the japanese OHC engine.
In actual fact both models were derived from the honda SS50 50cc enginewhich was bored out to 64cc.
Nice bikes but for their engine size they were too heavy on petrol. Which is probably why they were only in production for a relatively short time.
Probably worth doing a concourse renovation on this machine.
definitely NOT pushrod valve actuation; you can clearly see the overhead cam cover (i.e. the cover he couldn't remove @10:30) on the left side of the cylinder head.
That was my first dirt bike. My dad got it for me. I was n heaven. Wore a football helmet cause he could not afford me a helmet. 64 now and still riding moto's.
I owned one of those as a kid! Not much suspension on it, but scooted up the road pretty decent! Have it's "little brother" Honda 55 sitting in the garage still.....
Wanna say that pegged out mine was good for just over 50 mph.... Made me grin watching this vid! Keep up the good work.
We used to bore our SS50 with this gem of a piston,it was very possible, but the sleeve was pretty thin after
Very cool happy new year and yes u will need the battery and btw running it with out a good battery will blow every bulb it has lol
Love the content. Just tell me you put the loose washer from the banjo bolt I saw on top themotor back lol
Hi! A bit late, three years after you posted this video. A question!
In '68 I had a Honda SS50, then a moped in the Netherlands. 50 cc. Looked a lot like this S65, similar frame, but a bit more modern in the headlight area, and different fenders and normal front forks. But also that 'scrambler' style high exhaust.
I remember that the SS50 had a pushrod engine, no overhead camshaft. I had to repair it in the middle of France. The same for this S65?
Thanks!
Great content, sweet bike, I noticed you dump the clutch alot on starts.
What about your other projects?
Any finished yet?
Just curious...
Some are! Videos will be posted soon!
Didn’t see your comment till I wrote mine but I asked the same thing seems like he’s taking a lot of new bikes and quads in but I did see what was going on with the older ones he started
I had a ss 50 when i was16 ( UK 1979 ) My god did i put through hell n it never never let me down !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish id kept it ! Hey also a very pretty lady you have as a wife Joe !
Bro that round plate you was trying to tap off where the cam chain and cog is on side of top head there is a 10 m nut on other side to take the round plate off 👍
