That’s a good bike to start with. Those things are built like tanks.
Can't wait for it to be finished overall bike is in pretty good condition, biggest problem was the rear shock. Ended up getting one from a 650. Will look pretty decent once finished.
Just take ur time and when ur not sure of something do ur research instead of hoping for a lucky guess these small engines are pretty simple
Great video! My first bike was a 1975 Ruby Red (same color as yours), CB360T, which I bought in 1992. I still have it. 900 miles when I bought it and 1900 miles now. Original tires still on it. Original everything except an OEM replacement exhaust. Sitting in the corner of my walk-out basement for the last 15 years. The sounds of your twin brought back a lot of memories.
I had one of those. Bought it in 1984 when I was stationed in Ft Dix NJ. It only had 9850 miles on it and the guy that sold it to me only made me pay $1.00 a CC,so $360.00. It had sat in a garage at a house he bought for 6years, left abandoned by the former owner. Just had to clean it up. Clean out the gas tank and carbs and replace the plugs,I did replace the tires as well.
Bike was a blast. I rode it for a year and traded it in at a Motorcycle repair shop for a 1975 Honda 550 Four that the lead mechanic had owned and did a lot of work on to make it really fast. Still own that one.
I rode the 360 in 74 and was shocked at the amount of acceleration it had. For a 360 it was phenomenal. I had a cockerspaniel in the 60's and it rode on the tank with its paws on the handlebars.
Excuse me for pointing out the elephant in the room, but how does your cockerspaniel story co-relate to a 1974 Honda motorcycle? I think a little more information is required regarding the type of motorcycle you owned in the 60's. You might as well be saying "In 1965 I rode a 1974 Honda motorcycle and a cockerspaniel rode on my fuel tank."

Get yourself some new tires, seat cover, grips, turn signals and relays, new fluids, pod filters. Lots of vinegar for the gastank, start switch for handle bar itll be mostly there

I know I know, I say this on every video! But I just picked up a 1975 cb360t, mines real nice! Got it running but the kick shaft rachet mech was messed up, had to pull the engine split the case and fix a return braket on the back of the kick shaft! Just got the engine back in yesterday and buttoning it up today! Love the videos man, I swear if I started a UA-cam ya would think I was copying ya!
It is a lot of fun watching this guy work on these classic old machines because I had so much fun riding them!
Seems to me in the beginning the valves where sticking a bit.
Also a very important thing when you ''restart'' old 4 strokes that have been sitting for a long time.
Take the valve covers off and spray the valves/stems and seals with a cleaner (no harsh chemicals like brake cleaner) or some penetrating fluid like WD-40 and then drench the seals and every moving parts with oil. Let them sit for a bit and slowly turn the engine around.
There are holes in the rocker arm assembly. Just push lots of oil through there and throw a bit of oil over the camshaft so everything is nicely lubricated for the first couple seconds of running.
It keeps you safe from doing nasty damage to the valves and valve seals. Especially with bikes that are getting rare.
(I have sadly been there. Lots of unnecesary wear and tear costing me a good penny!)

I had a CB 360...not sure what year it was. These bikes are wonderful and I'd like to have another one. Fast for their size...powerful, and low maintenance. Very nice to ride and the handling was very good. If you can find a decent one, get it.

I just started this video and I can't help but think; 'man, we have a different definitions of rough. That'll probably run with just clean fuel and a quick carb clean, that's the important bit'
But then I dread the idea of fixing actual major engine issues and thrive doing all the annoying small stuff like diagnosing and fixing crusty electrics, rebuilding brakes, etc, so maybe we're polar opposites.

No it doesn't have to be running for that headlight to work😂.. that is what is called a battery and coil ignition.
It's funny the one you think have to have a battery don't need one. And the ones that need a battery you think don't need it.. 😂

not sure what its like in the states but here in canada i can get a title for a bike with no papers by getting a lost form and getting police to vin the bike,they then sign off on the form and we take that to the DMV
Here too - a CHP inspection would work.
My kind of project...save them. That "alarm" as you call it alerts the rider that the turn signal is on.

The Honda 350 was a very popular bike in the early seventies. They were everywhere and were a fairly large bike for the time. I never saw one that had 15000 miles on it without being rebuilt. The ran hot and blue pipes were normal. Mine would top out around 100 mph and cruise at 65. The 360 supplanted it and was not nearly so common around here. I never had one but I got a CM400 that followed the 360. It threw a rod at 9000 miles so I gave it away.
i used to have a few of them and to save on your leg when ya have a starter put your positive wire from you jump pack on the wire going in the starter and ground wire anywhere thats grounds it and it will turn over... loved them oldies
that was the first bike i had many years ago they were fun to ride. for a kid it would be a great starter bike for share. thanks for sharing and have a great day
My first bike back in the 80s. Easy to work on and super dependable
Just inherited a 1981 KZ1000 last year and went through the carbs in slightly worse condition. Looked like molasses inside. Pilot jets had to be drilled out. Took a few days of cleaning but got it to run after sitting in a climate control garage since 1987! (I was 3 at that time).
I'm sure you can file for a lost title. If you can....you will be able to make some money on that one. I absolutely love those vintage Honda street bikes.
register in Vermont and then transfer to one's own state is what some do in NY and NJ
That's the sort of bike that gets shipped out to the UK and sold as a "project" with no title. Apparently they can still be registered here, but it's a more complicated process.
@rickconstant6106 it can be sold right here as a project bike with NO title but it's super easy to get a legit title for it.
When you start up a four stroke that's old like that don't rev it like a two stroke just let it idle or just above idle if it will. You still got a lot to learn my friend.
I had a cb360 it was one of my first street-legal motorcycles. From a reliability standpoint it was one of the best bikes I ever owned. A magazine titled Great Bikes of the 70s referred to it as the Pinto of the motorcycle world.
In the early 90’s I rode a 1975 360T from Rochester NY to San Antonio TX just a couple months after getting my motorcycle license. Pretty good bikes, those were.
A similar model to this would pass me every morning while I walked to school in the late 70’s. You have brought back some very fond memories my friend, thank you 👍.
Those weren't sparks from the plugs those were flames. Best spark from plugs I have ever seen.
I had a 1974 cb360t that I bought for $20 (and some yard work) when I was in the 8th grade(1995). Got it running, terrorized the neighborhood for a summer with it and ended up selling it for $500 because it had mint, I mean SPOTLESS original tank and sidecovers still on it! It was a lot of fun as that little twin would sure rev!

Looks like a 1978 Honda XL 350 in similar condition - had a broken Kickstart er shaft. Got it replaced, now it kicks over. Thanks to your video, now I need to finish getting it running. I bought it with bill of sale, and through the DMV, I got the title
You had a small fire under the tank, just behind the horn, it can clearly be seen from 31:20 to around 31:40+ second, always a good idea to have a fire extinguisher on standby, ready!
That thing on the bars by the ignition is a loud bleeper to tell you the blinkers are on.
I know it's a year later but my dad got a new '73 CB350, hunter green with the black/white "swoosh". I'll see one once in awhile for sale on Marketplace and wonder if I should maybe get one to restore. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Good old dependable Honda. The bike sitting years in questionable conditions and straight away it has spark. Compresion, it has all of the compression. Carbs get a good clean and off she pops. As you said, it should run better if you get the airbox for it. Great old bikes and they look cool too.
I found one in far worst condition and restored it. Those are great little bikes and relatively rare. If you don't restore it, you could easily sell it for way more than what you gave for it. Just FYI, there is a great place in Houston called Common Motor Collective. They are a great source for CB related parts, and cheap. Thanks for the cool vintage content. New subscriber. Cheers!

Sweet bike dude. I got a 69 honda c.d. 175. I love it. There's a kit for cleaning and resealing that tank. I believe you can get thru Summit. I am gonna try it on my old bike this winter.
My brother bought a 350 Scrambler around 1972. It sat in the garage for a few years and when I was 14 a buddy of mine and I got it running. We took it for a cruise on the country back roads, taking turns driving. We got caught by a cop on our way back and ended up pushing it home. Good times.

Just acquired a 1970 CB 450 that has been sitting since the 80s. That will be my project for awhile.
Looks like a great find. What the hell is that musical sound at 7:13? Everyone seems to worry about tires but it's the tubes that are holding the air. Nice job and nice bike.
I bought a new 75' CB360 T in Dec 1975. Ended putting on a little over 13,000 miles until I got a Gold Wing in 1980. That was a great bike. I took many trips back and forth from Mpls. to South Dakota in my youth on my 360.
My hypothysys is letting the kicker return under its own spring power and hit the stop with full force causes this tab to bend on the bracket on the end of the kicker shaft in the center of the cases, push and pull the kick shaft when it's running and make sure your isn't grinding.
Some states don't issue titles for old bikes, they only register them, I.E. Maine or Vermont. You can just fill out the paperwork, send it in and they will send you a registration and plates.

My cousins husband gave me a 70 cb350 back in mid 80s it didn’t run .. I got it running w help from my older brother who had a 72 cl350 .. ran good I then passed it on .. 👍

Regarding no papers... I won't get overly specific here - but lets just say that a quick Google search will show you a state or two that offer registration and plates on older bikes (especially of lower displacement) - and it doesn't necessarily appear that you have to be a resident of that state. The basic idea is that some states don't TITLE bikes older than 15 years. Plus, in all honestly, what are the odds that this bike is a "stolen" bike? Most kids today would have ZERO interest (ie, no theft value). So don't give up on the "no paper" thing. It's not necessarily a dead bike... LOVE your channel. Good cinematography. Good editing. No music in the background. GREAT skillset. GREAT projects. You are doing GREAT THINGS here - PLEASE don't stop. I am pretty good with a wrench - but I ALWAYS learn something from your videos - and LOVE the content.

In 1978 I bought a new Honda 750/4 K for $1800. I rode it to work every day for years then sold it. Great bike. No problems

Good bikes easy to work on , over Japan these are high in demand as are all electric start twins under 500cc , over there these bikes are very cheap to Insure and maintain as every day transportation, great video once again Joe Go Vinny go 👏
Unsure why it needs to be stored. In my state, I can register anything 25 years or older without a title. I even encountered the issue THIS year while trying to register a 1995 scooter - my town said I needed a title, but after researching our DMV, I called the town back - 25 years is the magic number. There was an old ruling about "1995" - but that was since updated to 25 years, so I'm good up through 1999 for registering without a title.

That was great to see it alive possibly for the last time,hope you sold it with working engine to someone who could restore it. Back in the day I had a cb 125 that was a pain then an r/s 250 crashed that on a roundabout after hitting a diesel spill. Fractured my scull, then with a young family decided to go four wheels now I am 60 and just passed my motorbike test and have a Honda 500 rebel se and nothing makes me feel as good as going for a ride. I can take stuff apart , but you are the man for putting it back 😊to gether again.respect to you young man.

In around the mid 60s Honda had a 305 scrambler, with both pipes high on the side. I thought that looked much better then the low pipes you have on this one. Fun little bikes.

Excellent work! Try Simple Green HD in your ultrasonic, safe for aluminum. Will not turn them black like regular simple green. I got the tip from Brick House Builds, works great in my ultrasonic.
I rode a 360 Honda,I believe it was a 74 model as well..I was surprised how well that bike handled!. It was a fun bike!.Poodles are a highly intelligent dogs,Vinny being part poodle I am sure he is smart..I have a toy Poodle that is scary smart!..She has all the good qualities of a dog, and a human combined in one!..lol..I got a radio controlled car out to see how she would react to it,she was curious about the car,but quickly realized the controller in my hand is what made it move!..She came over to me and wanted the controller, so I layed the controller on the floor and she started driving the car around!..lol..I have had dogs all of my life, but this one is on a completely other level,even for a Poodle!

Carburetor needles jet and jet orifices and o-rings and seal for upper carb lid. Please, keep your float bowl gasket so use gasket reseal RTV soft kind silicon in tube. The K&L have the genuine parts kit for CL360 or for CJ360 1974 up to 1977. Includes 4 to 6 day shipping for only $19.99 USD.

The pair of boots at Hebron, Kentucky for CL360 or CJ360 to connect with stainless steel hose clamps at a costs $29.99 and it is 90 degree angle between the line of the flange and the flow of boot pipe. The Honda CB350 have the boot at angle 65 degree to around 75 degree for the price is $16.00 dollars a pair. Thanks.

My older twin brothers had a couple of those when I was a kid and they were in their teens. One had the pipes down on the bottom and one had them up on the side, not sure what else differed on them. I know they nearly drove the tires off those things throughout high school.
With the single front disc I would guess a 360"T"?? I rode a Honda 360 to high school in 1976. They were great bikes!!
An old friend I used to ride with had a Yamaha Enduro with a ratty seat cover. He crafted a new one from a pair of old blue jeans. Ended up looking and working surprisingly decent.
For a beatup bike the tank is in decent shape,the 360 Honda's good runaround bikes.

A special thanks to all those guys who never maintained their bikes. If it wasn't for you we'd never have had the pleasure of watching an exceptional trouble-shooter and mechanic bring these old bikes back to life. Just a good lesson for us all - maintain your bike! Or else there is going to be someone attempting to bring back your bike back to life in 20 years time because you couldn't "start it", and parked it up in the garage to gather dust.
Need the 3 gallon gas tank with some rocks from gravel inside and no smaller than 1/2 inch square per rock. Add rubbing isopropyl alcohol to the gas tank for cleaning and tumble and shake the gas tank. The carburetors that your cb360 have is a new model that the old carburetor of 1968 Honda 360 sports is different. Pressure up the gas tank to at least 10 PSI plus the atmosphere pressure at 14.8 PSI in today outside pressure for altitude 315 ft high above sea level. Thank you.

Get a gallon can of carb cleaner from the auto store. Can use parts cleaner spray as starter fluid to.
I’ve done four of these. Cost of tires, brake line, chain, etc. is almost more than the bike is worth.
I think you should apply for the title for the bike the bike is old it can only go up in value I think you could get most of the parts from CMS they deal with new old stock for old bikes and that's also a second-hand parts
The problem with restoration projects is balancing the value of the time and parts you have to put into it against what you could sell it for once it's done. It's very rarely worth doing it unless it's as a paid job for an owner who is willing to spend more than the bike's worth, because they're an enthusiast.
Their is a company that will issue you a new title for about 300 bucks ! Its for vintage bikes and homemade toys !Its a off road company but they can get titles for pretty much anything as long as it isn't stolen !
