Thanks allot Lucas for your comment! Fully agree with your comment, in the end you have to try it yourself and see which feels best for you. For its playability I enjoy them both allot, key differences are as described in their sound which I would personally describe as surprisingly different ;). Btw. subed you for quite a while, keep on the great work!
@@MassiveSoundProductions unfortunately here where I live no good guitar stores carry Mayones. May need to take road trip down south to get hands on one to see how I like it. That and Skervesen.
@@GuitarsAndSynths We have the same problem here where I live, there are not many stores having them on stock and as soon as they get one they are usually gone ;). But the great thing with both Mayones as well as Skervesen is you can actually buy them blind, they are always top notch and without any flaws
Thanks Niko for your great feedback :D! Fully agree, they both have their pros and cons. Could talk endless about what I like about them! Great fan of both companies...
Jesse Cash from Erra recorded the last Album on a Jackson Juggernaut HT7 with an Evertune Bridge……I think this speaks for itself. Its one of the best & my personal favorite progressive Metalcore Albums ever recorded 😊
Actually, both guitars are designed by Misha Mansoor. That's why they are so similar visually. Only the Quatsi variant of the Duvell is modified according to the wishes of John Browne.
Both necks are pretty different as the Jackson is all maple and the Duvell mainly wenge with two purpleheart stripes which makes a significant difference in sound and feeling. Also the shape is different, I like both but I'm in generally not very picky here. Fretboard radius is also different, 20" on the Jackson and 16" on the Duvell
@@MassiveSoundProductions thanks! I play an EBMM Majesty 7 string now and how is neck different from Mayones 7 to Ernie Ball Majesty 7 neck and fretboard? Trying to decide between the above 2 guitars to get as next 7 string guitar.
@@GuitarsAndSynths I don't know the EBMM 7-string neck, only the 6-string which is generally thinner and feels different to the Mayones one. If I had to choose I would decide for a Mayones, which I prefer sound, look and feel wise for what I'm doing but this is a personal preference. Both companies making insane guitars :)
@@MassiveSoundProductions next time I am in southern California will have to hit music shops that carry Mayones to try some out. Suhr is another great custom guitar builder.
@@GuitarsAndSynths Heard great things about Suhr as well. Bit more classic and from what I see closer to Musicman whereas Mayones or Skervesen is from my feeling slightly more modern featurewise
I wish that I could try a mayonnes guitar . I have the HTC 6 bulb edition in Laguna burst ,the body is alder with a maple top , It’s a pièce de resistance . Maybe my choice would be bias since I own one but I chose the HTC 6 haha . Cheers from Texas
Thanks Daniel for your comment. The HT6 in laguna burst is one of the most beautiful looking guitar, congrats! I had the chance to play one some month ago and its a fantastic guitar, sound is slightly different to mine due to the different woods, slightly less aggressive but with a appealing noble touch. One of the best modern metal axes out there :D
Hi Yehor, thanks for your comment. Both are recorded (mono) but put the on the same(!) two stereo tracks panned fully left and right. I was also surprised from the result as it exactly sounds what you described but there was definitely no difference in the recording process.
@@MassiveSoundProductions I know it can be tough to get ahold of these guitars but I would love to see a shootout between the Skervesen Shoggie and the Mayones Hydra.
@@TheCyrax87 Unfortunately can't do such a comparison but what I can tell already is that a couple of videos incl a comparison with some Skervesen guitars will come this year 😎
I havent had a chance to play a usa ht6 o love my duvell but I really love my skervesen especially for modern metal I have it loaded with bareknuckles. I'm going to swap the pickups though cause I like the SD pegasus and sentient
Thanks allot for your comment! Sounds very interesting, I just placed an order for a Raptor last week which shall be done until Q2/22. Can't wait to compare it to my Duvell and HT6. Which Bareknuckles did you had in your Skervesen?
It's similar to what you where saying about the particular voicing of bareknuckles I find the high end frequency to be slightly to much personally. I like the sound of those juggernauts though might have to try that. I like my nazgul sentient but I found the pegasus sentient to be very well rounded and great for prog
@@InfamouslyCantankerous Interesting what you say about the Aftermath. The Juggernaut was the best I tried so far, generally I like the SD Nazgul and the Dimarzio Titan quite allot, which just sound more pleasing to my ears. Still want to try some more Bareknuckle pickups in the future, in a darker sounding guitar the Aftermath might still be a good match.
Thanks for your comment! The Mayones is a fantastic guitar and as both play and sound great you can't go wrong with either one. I just placed an order on a Skervesen Raptor which is in many aspects very similar to the Duvell and which I will do a review as soon as I will get it next year.
Commenting just to compliment your playing! Very tasty, very heavy. Well done!
Thanks so much Alexian for your amazing feedback, happy you like my playing and song ideas 🤘😊
Both of these guitars are great! IT all really comes down to how they feel while you play it. I have played both and like both. Gave you a sub btw.

Thanks for the review. I have a Mayones Duvell Elite and a Jackson HT6 and I like them both.
Thanks for your feedback Luis :D! Both the Duvell and the HT6 are fantastic instruments. How is your experience with your two axes?
I'd love to hear the split coils sound in the next guitar review. I agree about the tone, maybe for a 7 string context the duvell would fit better.
Actually, both guitars are designed by Misha Mansoor. That's why they are so similar visually. Only the Quatsi variant of the Duvell is modified according to the wishes of John Browne.
who is John Browne? Never heard of him before.
In terms of quality and fretwork, which one would you choose?
Love the Jackson Misha USA 7 string guitar and wonder how the Mayones neck and fretboard compares?

Good comparison, but unfortunately Mayones Sound Example was recorded in stereo double-track, while Jackson's demo is Mono.
