Nice video! The captures sound great in comparison to the real amps.

Thanks allot Jyothish for your great feedback :)! I’m pretty impressed about the capture feature of the QC as well, the operation is super easy and the results speak for themselves.

in the mix, it works. alone, QC always seems a little mushy in low mid around 300hz or lack some cutting in the 3kz before distortion. But it works in the mix, that's all that matter.

Thanks Ct Ld for your interesting comment and agree, the QC works great in a mix 😊

Stumbled on this and clicked on the Nural Herbert, sounds not really close to the hebert. Theres something about the diezels that i find very hard to recreate even with tube amp setups

Honestly, the Diezel in-the-room sound is something I really fail on getting close to on recordings. The Herbert is my favorite amp when played over my Mesa 2x12 cab but when try to get this sound mic'ed and on a recording it doesnt sound as stunning as in the room.

    • @tekki1
      @tekki1 3 роки тому +1

Yea, even with a reactive load, something is off. in the room it just nukes everything, but when i put it into a load the low end gets bloated.

Have you already tried the QC through a return of an amp fx loop ? Damn the QC sounds sooooo soooo good like this

Thank you, I am a new subscriber excellent video. I'm also a new Quad cortex user, and I would love to see different routing features and how you program your quad cortex using your captures in different scenarios.

Thanks allot for your feedback and thanks for subscribing Sotirios. This surely won't be my last video about the QC, which is an awesome piece of technology. For my sounds here I used external IRs from Bogren Digital and ML Sound Lab for the cab section but if you like to use the internal cabs of the QC a good starting point are IMO the Zilla Custom V30 and the Brit 60B V30.

I think the ENGL Retro lost a bit of warmth and gain from the capture but felt the rest was very close! Great comparison and thanks for sharing the captures!

Thanks for your comment and happy you liked my little comparison 😊! I had a similar impression that the captures lost a bit of warmth and also some clarity, but with a tiny bit of EQing you can surely come even closer to the real amps 😎

These are so close, the Revv sounded dead on and in the mix I couldn't tell. Your Revv capture is gonna replace my other one haha. Still hoping they have a global cab bypass for the output 3/4 soon. I go back and forth between the cortex and my kemper and for sure the gap is closing in. Live through a real cab I'm mixed between the two and I've thought about getting the Engl Ironball special but honestly it's so close or good enough where it feels to dumb to fuss over. Which Bogren cab ir did you Use? I might scoop that pack up. Cheers!

Thanks allot for your comment and your great feedback Nathan, happy you liked the comparison and even more my captures :D! I sold my Kemper two years ago so unfortunately couldnt do a comparison of these two anymore but from what I heard/saw on UA-cam they seem to be quite close soundwise. But I much prefer the user interface of the QC, which for me is a huge improvement over the Kemper for me. I used IR's from the Rainbows and Chainsaws pack which I can highly recommend.

@@MassiveSoundProductions You are most welcome my dude. I also really love the interface and I hope maybe some day they will add a few extra parameters like the Kemper. I don't like to tweak a whole although it is fun sometimes. I had an axe ii xl for a little while and got pretty crazy with the in depth stuff available but I like the kemper parameters too for simplicity and it's unique way of extra shaping. Funny tho, as much as I want to see some more tweakable parameters on the cortex I often find I don't really need to. Definitely gonna peep that ir pack soon. Keep the tones flowin!

@@Awesomelvis Pretty sure we stay still at the early beginning from what the QC is capable of and it will be exciting to see what additional features we will get in future with all the frequent updates. I see it similar like you, the crazy detailed tweaking options can be nice for people who are into this but personally I need great tones right out of the box without allot of tweaking as I unfortunately don’t have the time for endless searching for sound anymore. And there are already more than enough options to get your individual tones with all the captures, IR’s etc out there ;)

    • @MassiveSoundProductions

Hi Beyson thanks for your comment and great feedback, really happy you enjoy my videos 😊! The EVH5150 is a great choice, you surely cant go wrong here. If you want to save some money you could, like me, also get the 50w version of the head which sounds as great as his big 100w brother.
