More proof that Aaron Sterling is perfect for the job
I think we all get the dark clouds of depression come into our lives from time to time where we get the “I guess I just feel like” emotions that can sometimes get the best of us. The first part of this song is coming to grips with those emotions, and then the second part after he switches to the electric guitar is him embracing those emotions with the knowledge that it’s only temporary and this too shall pass. So we should all learn to relish in the highs and the lows knowing it’s all part of the journey and we are all imperfect.
I know what you mean. I call them the "fuck its". And when they come on I normally go on a week drunk.
Damn that solo just gets me Good…..!!!!! ✨🙏✨
Absolutely Killed it!
I knew I loved this song on the album but seeing this right here right now, I'm busting out allover! I can hardly contain myself! I feel like I'm at this concert and I'm screaming, John! John! like I did at the last concert I was at a few years ago. Love this song! I love it when he gives us extra juicy lyrics!!!!!! XOXO!
best solo ever!
The new blues master of the 21st century...John Mayer.
OMG JOHN!! Stellar as usual! I guess I just feel like listening to you jam all day!!
This has two of the hottest solos ever I used to go to the world tour video and specifically set it up to listen thanks for a separate video
Epiphone Casino... Love it! 🔥
How loud is that solo? Jeezes
Amazing performance! Love it. Wish he’d record a version like this…extended cut.
Can't get enough with this. SO JOHN SO GORGEOUS
amazing..i wish i was in audience
John just brings it to you with this tune! There's no escaping the reality he is presenting. I particularly love that he's weighed in on himself as also falling victim, yes victim, to the conditions that we all find ourselves facing, that are actually just part of what our culture has somewhat come to on any given day. I love him and this tune. I love that he lands us on our feet by ending with hope. Hope floats tomorrow, and will continue to float this Creative Genius, A Master, The Man and THE KING ❣💡🌟💎👑🎄
Beautiful work!
Perfomance memorável! Como sempre dando alma a lirica pereita!

That doesn’t quite look like a regular casino. A coupe maybe?
Is he playing an epiphone ?
Yeah , casino
Yeah, Casino!
so he is human
Please don't take this the wrong way as I'm a huge John Mayer fan, but I feel like this solo is his nemesis whenever he plays it live. It's like John really struggles to reproduce the sentiments and calibre of the original album solo for this song and is searching for the right key. And yet he never seems to have this issue with any other song. Perhaps the fact it took him so many cuts and splices to put together the original album version has something to do with it (video of this is on UA-cam)
i can't blame him tho, as an intermediate guitarist i don't really know if its b mixolydian or b minor or even e major i just mix those 3 scales to improvise over these
No offense but that doesn’t really translate with most players. This solo is flat out better than the original. He’s done multiple versions of this that are far more technically finessed than the album one Albany 2022 is another one that shines over the OG
@@keithremedy you reckon? I just felt it didn't really carry the theme of the original. Maybe I need to give it another listen.
@@sAmiZZle82 it’s all just opinions you like what you like
@@antoineaquino3055 That’s the nature of blues, really. It’s technically B Mixo, but he’s hitting tons of B Blues/B Dorian. It’s blurring the lines between them on purpose…bending those thirds somewhere between a maj and min.

I think John is a phenomenal guitarist, one of the greatest today and in the last 20 years. There was always something that bugged me about him though. It seems like every album he releases is some alternate version of himself. Look at older musicians…Buddy Guy was always Buddy Guy, some slight outfit changes…same with Clapton, SRV, Jimmy Vaughan, BB King, Albert King. Even Country music artists, George Strait. Or Cindy Lauper…Madonna, MJ, Prince etc. THEY WERE ALWAYS WHO THEY WERE. But every time John dips between albums he comes out as something else. I liked the TRY 2007 John. I thought it was sincere. But albums since, having great songs….seems he was dumping that old thing for a different new thing. It makes my head spin. JOHN…..BE JOHN NO MATTER WHAT ALBUM YOU MAKE! HAVE SOME CONTINUITY OF WHO YOU TRULY ARE THROUGHOUT ALL YOUR ALBUMS AND MUSIC! “Let people feel the weight of Who You Are….and let Them deal with it!” To thine OWN SELF BE TRUE!
