Ferrari 550: Gated Manual is Epic!

I didn’t want to ask the owner to film as I drove. Though, next time we’ll get some footage. Enjoy at least the bolt action sound of the shifter and the rumble of the V12.
This car is physical. The clutch, brake, and accelerator pedal are heavy and require that you pay attention and work hard. It’s rewarding once you get comfortable with the controls. The shifter requires that you shift quickly to avoid the revs falling, which is not easy at first if you’re not used to a gated manual. 10 minutes in and you become comfortable with the controls and the balance of the car. The V12 has torque anywhere in the rev range. The 550 feels masks speed so it would be a surprise if you were pulled over, mainly because it feels like you’re driving at half the rate you really are.
I’d love to do a review on this car and I’m confident the owner would be okay with that. A review comparing his 550 and Vantage V12 would be awesome.
