- The R8's strength is roll racing. Not many owners ever really take their R8 to the 1/4 mile dragstrip, but in an effort to make it a more well-rounded street car, we decided it would be beneficial to do some testing off the line. The Alpha 10 Audi R8 Twin Turbo managed a 10.7 @ 143mph on the pump gas tune. This was using a completely stock clutch and the OEM supplied street tires on a cold track at the end of the 2015 racing season. More to come in the 2016 track season.

considering the price of the car, then this package on top... It's not really good value for money is it?

+11Anti11 As if it wasn't obvious, the R8 V10 is not a car you buy for ultimate performance per dollar. This is a high end, luxury focused, sports car full of refinement and technology.
If you want "bang for the buck" in the 1/4 miles, go buy a 1G DSM, build the 4G63 to handle 50psi and slap in a monster turbo kit and supporting mods. You could be into that for less than $10K and have a 9 second car.
Again, whoever bought this car and kit, probably wasn't too concerned about spending money. Rather, they wanted something exclusive, of high quality and with good performance.
Finally, worth note, that trap speed indicates it could get a significantly lower ET with a driver mod.

+11Anti11 We have sold quite a few of these Alpha 10 packages over the past 2 years. It is a solid, well engineered turbo system. The R8 comes naturally aspirated so this is an excellent value for those who want a twin turbo system.
You guys should have a car show day and take all your beast cars either factory show cars or even local customers cars and show them all off. That should be cool to have at some local area. Find a nice field or like cantigny park. They had a car show last summer there.

So, barely quicker than a M4 with bolt-ons, slower than a GTR with bolt-ons and stock turbos... I'm generally a fan of AMS, but this doesn't seem earth shattering. I just attended a drag event where a Golf 6 R with bolt-on GT3076 package ran 10's with full interior, daily driven. You want to impress me, it's gonna take more than this. I'll accept that it's a very well engineered package, but this isn't much quicker than the tested figures for the new R8 in stock form.

+Mhunter Rhunter It trapped over 143mph in the 1/4 mile. That is pretty fast for this platform. Just finished a clutch upgrade so looking to launch it harder this upcoming season and improve upon the ET. Nobody really drag races R8s, but we're looking to make this a better all around performer for our 6 spd customers.

wow thats slow as hell, I was thinking about putting this into my v10 r8 but my full bolt on gtr is faster than that wtf.. basically shave .03 from stock for 40k not including labor lol
10.3 with no launch.. imagine what you would need to actually beat this car in a road race.
