Thank you so much for this video! I miss Colchester and the time I lived there. I was an au-pair in an English family and this little walk reminds me a great - nice time I had there.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I love any assistance you can give me
@Eli Gianni thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you so much for this walk in Colchester streets which brought back found memories from the time I lived there, as an au-pair for an army family, shopping at the Naafy store, Woolworth, Marks & Spencer... then as a secretary at the University of Essex... I recall the Walls' Ice Cream man, the milk man.. That was so long ago 😄Some iconics places disappeared. Of course, I don't recognize anything except the Odeon Theater, High Street, the Castle and the old coloured houses with one floor, so typical of Britain's villages with the old pubs. I remember the old decked buses going to Mersea to eat fish & ships, Ipswich and other places. The seagulls are still there. The streets are amazingly clean, with not a single paper on the ground. It must have been a Sunday that all the shops are closed.
Martine in France thank you for your comment and it was a pleasure to read! There are so many interesting parts to film in Colchester so please stay tuned and I promise more to come. You are correct, it was a Sunday just before opening times, it’s usually a little busier than that. Thanks for watching!
Good old Colchester I was posted there in 1989 to 1992 in my army days at meeane bks on top of Mersea rd I used to go to the castle pub wagon and horses the hippodrome night club and on a lovely day sit on the hill in castle park
Great watch, lived there in 1950's, recognize basic layout & landmarks [castle etc] but few shops the same. Prompted me to plan a visit. [when sensible].
I used to be posted in Colchester in 1989 to 1992 was a great place Sitting in Castle park in the summer drinking in the wagon and horses and the castle pub and enjoying nightlife in the hippodrome nightclub
I just went down memory lane in my head, i remember the three cups pub and my mates and i would sit in the graveyard opposite and drink our beers in the summer until the council put metal fencing up around it with spikes on top, what a buzz kill.
Thank you very much for this, it brings back memories so distant now. I lived there when I was a kid, 30 years ago, end of the 80s. In Greenstead, went to St.Andrews school, it changed it's name now. If you ever go there please walk through Stanley Wooster way)))) all the best, thank you!
My home town i haven't lived there for 26 yrs, i remember the days of the Bakers Arms on Magdalen St. I lived all over kinda grew up on Greenstead est, lived in a squat at the bottom of Hythe Hill above the then Universal Tyres, i would imagine i wouldn't recognise the place nowadays
It’s changed. What’s most disturbing is Londoners on social media explaining how they will be “taking over Essex from the white people”. You will see it unfold in the next fifty years. I don’t mind people moving to an area bit they want you harm an ethnic group.
Hello Colchester lovers! Between living in Meander Mews and living on Roseberry Avenue, where would you live if the property price was more or less the same and you had to commute to work to London? Or are there any better central locations?Thank you in advance for any tips ! ❤️

Haha yes I didn’t notice that when I was filming! Since corona, there’s no rubbish on the street, so he won’t have any more pringles to kick!
