The old boarded up building that is features around 16.50 to 17.50 is still in just the same sorry state . The developers wanted to bulldoze the whole site for new housing and originally they were told to convert the buildings into apartments, retaining the original exterior architecture Then, further surveying showed that it is in too bad shape after decades of neglect, so consent was given but the red-brick facade of the original small theatre the Victoria Hall ,1887, must be retained . Nearly three years later it is just the same ,a positive eyesore that the people living nearby suffer .
My mum and Aunts too, they were Towlers/Clarence Road, (Aunt later a Wardman, Town chemist's). The road down to the station hasn't half changed and where's the sration buildings gone. I remember being down on the platform looking at the footbridge over to the other platform, many years ago. Used to love Sudbury, holiday visits, 60's.
My hometown, left for Australia in 2014 and haven't been back in a while. It's nice for a virtual visit as the rona probably won't allow us back for a while.
