    I have determined that the c3 chrome bumpers are truly the best looking Corvettes ever produced by Chevy. Hands down.

    It's still a manual gearbox! You can still engine break, and you can still choose the gear. In addition it's got an automatic mode, and it's programmable. I'm looking forward to driving it! Harlan Charles, what a great attitude. I can't imagine any other of the super car producers management being so humble and acknowledging of various views and perspectives, and still very candid and up front. Great stuff!

    Awesome interview. I have driven manual my whole life but I'll gladly take the trade off for that 0 to 60. It's insane that they are able to achieve that at that price point given the weight and power specs. So stoked to see reviews come out

    Uninterrupted power during shifts is the single biggest performance advantage the C8 will have over a traditional manual transmission car.

    i am so happy that we can do basic maintenance in our own driveways with the C8. keeping an open mind about that transmission too i suppose hehe.

    @10:30, I like it that the designer cared enough about the DIYers and put a lot of thought for the easy access of their basic maintenance service.

    I Love "shifting for myself" like everyone else... But the REAL factor is mentally being in control of the vehicle. So shifting with a paddle is NOT the same as 'stirring a shifter', but YOU can still tell the car WHEN to shift, if you want to.
    I have to also consider that I have now had 9 major leg surgeries -- including a 'new' left knee -- that makes driving a clutch a lot more difficult, if not impossible... and PAINFUL. And THAT kind of takes the FUN out of manual shifting. "Heel & Toe" becomes a Strain that is actually a bit distracting, and less precise than in past years. And the DCT shifts without Busting U-Joints...

    • @SonsofSpeed
      @SonsofSpeed  4 роки тому +1

      We would agree, which is why having a choice of two transmissions would be the best of both worlds allowing owners to choose the transmission that is right for him or her.

    • @srcastic8764
      @srcastic8764 4 роки тому

      Sons of Speed DCT IS a manual transmission. You’re still telling it when to shift and it won’t shift until you tell it to when in manual mode. Only a manual clutch is missing.

    • @SonsofSpeed
      @SonsofSpeed  4 роки тому +2

      studio7 thank you! Yes, Harlan said Cosworth will be putting together a set of “standard” track maps that can be preloaded on your SD card for you to choose from at the track. No more having to mark the start/finish line and completing a lap to mark the track!

      Yeah until the editing is approved by MT's biggest advertiser budget....the magazines have become a bit incestuous with their relationships with the car companies...not like the old days when the mags at least attempted to have some editorial standards.
