80 years after, this gun remains the best in his category
DAD SHOT WITH ONE BY ss AND CARRIES SCHRAPENEL IN HIS GRAVE TO THIS DAY.
Don't get me wrong, it was a good submachine gun back then, but now its not even close to be called "best in his category".
@@vasilije94 add few more words. The best in it's catagory back then.
@@arijitdaspoddar5261 strongest weapon in a nations arsenal
I mean I would definitely say the MP5 is an improvement over the MP38
The slow-mo in this video is just unreal. I love it!!
Yeah!
It's ridiculously good! This is just pure firearm erotica the camera work is just so sublime I struggled to keep my fapping fist from oiling my bolt carrier!
Ultan, LOL big time!
is real
Whoever does the editing for this channel deserves a medal.
What u expect....?
Yes he deserve cus qualification work with vickers are soo high
it's a bit over dramatic tho..
You're Right ✅
The Iron Cross!
I'm pretty sure that Germany have different flag in 1938.
UA-cam policy. ForgottenWeapons made a video regarding this.
it's only against YT policy to show it in thumbnail, not in a video.
Should have used the Blutfahne, but that might have hurt someone's precious feelfeels.
ksztyrix
Yeah, haha, my speech. X-D
A beautiful one
lmaoo faxx
Polish neighbors nearby: "Aw crap, here we go again."
the MP40 wasn't polished, but it was made of stainless steel i think
@@Gute_Laune_Goy Is this a joke and is it flying over my head?
@@Gute_Laune_Goy Polish = Poland citizens
Great weapon. Some WW-2 US soldiers actually used them. Also many British WW-2 veterans discarded their Sten Guns for the MP-40 that fired the same round as the Sten of 9X19MM Parabellum. Great weapon and it stands up today very well.
Ian McCullan (Forgotten Weapons) says it took SMGs to a new level that eventually peaked with the MP5.
My Dad said that he carried one for a while. He was a scout in the 66th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, 4th Armored Division in Patton's Third Army. He told me that they had over ran a German supply dump in the early fall of 1944 and, in addition to all of the booze, there were crates of arms. He found a crate of MP40's and crates of pre loaded magazines and helped himself to some. He said that he liked the MP40 because it was lighter then the Thompson submachine gun, just as reliable and accurate. He ditched it after he ran out of the preloaded magazines and just as well because you didn't want to be caught carrying a German submachine gun at the outbreak of the Battle of the Bulge according to my Dad.
As did some soviet troops
@@SeanDahle I very much doubt so. The problem is, MP40 has very distinctive sound and that painted you into enemy colors everytime you shoot it, in all the chaos you could very easily get killed by friendly fire. Aside from separate cases, soldiers would refrain from using it.
That's a myth. The truth is, they collected the guns, but didn't use them during the war for good reasons:
1. They weren't trained on the gun. Using a gun you're not properly trained on is a disadvantage, even if it's superior - high risk.
2. Allied supply didn't include 9x19mm Parabellum ammo. The Thompson fired .45 ACP. Even though the cartridge is among the most popular today, back in WW2 soldiers would've depended on constantly looting enemy soldiers to get ammo - very high risk.
3. During a firefight nobody can see shit, because everyone has their heads down. Soldiers were trained to know the sound of enemy guns. They used their ears to locate enemies, so firing the MP40 would've attracted friendly fire and grenades - suicidal risk.
I remember when I fired an MP40. What a fun gun to use. Hardly any recoil.
What a beautiful weapon!
Always loved the MP-38\40
The person who edits this video did a really good job, but men i wish i could shoot that masterpiece gun.
"True rare MP38" - Slams it on the wood, bangs it on the wood :D
Guns have feelings lol
You cant break a gun that way. They're built to last
Pity about their tanks though @@sergeantdornan4386
@@fergal2424 If you think German tanks were unreliable, then you should've seen the Soviet ones! The KV-1 for instance, if you wanted to change gear at all then you had to almost bring it to a complete halt, and use a hammer to knock the gear lever into the next position! There's reports of gearboxes being installed incorrectly at factory level, incorrect gears being installed in the gearboxes, welds not finished properly creating structural integrity issues, recoil piston failures and a whole host of other potentially fatal problems. Let me tell you, reliability of any nation's tanks was about the same, the difference was in the recovery of those broken down tanks, or replacement of them with fresh equipment.
@@TheAngrySaxon1 preaching to the choir man, I agree. The Soviets in particular really pumped their armour out there, rough and ready and built to last a bare few months haha.
This channel is underrated
As always, knowledgeable, objective, and professional. Thumbs up for Larry Vickers!
This seriously makes me miss playing COD WaW!! MP40 was unstoppable in the right hands! Thanks for the real life action Vick 🐿
Cod 2 makes waw look like tetris so its okay
Call of Duty 3 is amazing
The Model Meister it is, too bad it's only on console though
@@Legitpenguins99 MEDAL OF HONOR ALLIED ASSAULT. PERIOD
Just look into “Post Scriptum” it’s the most realistic WW2 game ever made.
One of your best videos yet. Loved the slow mo footage and loved that you could find such an amazing weapon.
I’m blessed to shoot these on a fairly regular basis. The mags are a pain to load without the loading tool but soooo much fun when your unloading them!
Slow-mo and sound editing is incredible.
German engineering :D
German engineering *lost* WWII.
z y lmao the 'abducted scientists' were largely made up for forced workers that the nazis rounded up many of whom were jews and ironically many jewish scientists escaped from germany and helped with the Manhattan project like albert Einstein. The m60 is also an outdated firearm only used officially by the danish military and i think some island country in the Pacific. And what the fuck are u saying about the microwave being invented by the nazis
z y and the v2 rocket barely touched orbit, it was an extremely dumbed down overly expensive short range missile and was one of hitlers over ambitious plans. Also i have mention how almost all the german military was using horses over vehicles, the quality control of the small amount of vehicles (tanks etc) was so bad that the panthers average distance it would drive before breaking down was so fucking short. The stg44 was also notorious for jamming, breakages and stoppages due to its poor design and the only reason why its so popular is due to the thousands of dumb wehraboos on the internet saying 'mUh gErMaN gUns sUpeRiOr bEcAuSe AsSuAlT rIfLe' fucking educate your self and go back to 4chan with the rest of ur neckbeard incel friends
@@eatpoopoo lmao key word here 'hunting rifle' also what do any of those physicists u have mentioned have anything to do with this conversation, i study theoretical physics i dont need to be reminded about them anymore mate.
@@eatpoopoo ((the computer had nothing to do with nazi germany mate and the microwave was developed during the cold war)) and the idea of a intermediate cartridge in a rifle for general service isnt something very special and would've been thought up at some point in time any way and the only similarities between the fact that both the ak style platform and the stg/mkb series is the gas system. and i can assure u as a good dane that my hair is alright an that im actually living in middle class london studying theoretical physics and fucking hate nazis and commies and usually find my self in the middle when it comes to my political views. also orbit is officially recognised as 320 km above sea level and the v2 rockets maximum altitude when fired horizontally was around 200km. also about the patents, the victor takes it all and the germans lost, and i can bet you the germans would've done alot fucking worse if they won
20mrad 90% accuracy at 10 yards, from full auto, collapsable stock and standing position. Wow. Expected a much larger dispersion. Pretty controllable.
Great gun, great editing, great sound, great moderation - great video!
Great video! I really liked how you captured the bolt in action and the slow motion shooting. Thank you for doing these WWII videos. I have learned a lot about them from your videos.
The slow-mo video and sound effects are like from a blockbuster movie! Amazing!

Seriously Larry, thank you. Your channel is really entertaining and informative.
The quality of y'alls videos are incredible!
Thats was incredible! ...breathtaking photography ...most likely the best footage of this type of weapon being fired that I have seen ...
German firearms industry has always been amazing definetely have to hand it to them
Only trouble is the tolerances were so fine that in the sub zero temps of Russia many guns would not fire .But the Russian ones did as the tolerances were not as fine in production .
That weapon is amazing thank u for sharing Mr. Vickers
your camera guy deserves his pay... especially at the end!
Great! That slo mo is amazing.
MP-38and 40 -just another brilliant Germans engineers dysanie Thanks for shearing this video

I found the MP-40 to be an incredibly controllable SMG. One of my favorites.
Wow I want to try! - Phuc

MP38 good against booty infiltrators?
It's tragic to realise that I will never ever get to fire an MP38/40.

Musst nur nach Amerika oder Russland auswandern, da sehen die Waffensachen nicht so eng.
The quality of the video is just unbelievable!
The Slowmotion is the Best in this Video after the Weapon ^^ i Love ouer MP3840 Regards from north Germany
Probably the best MP38/40 video I've seen. You were running that weapon the way it was meant to be.
The best slow motion on UA-cam
Thanks for beautiful video. Slow motion is really impressive.
Mp38 is so expensive and nearly impossible to find.... I prefer it’s design
Great Video, thanks for posting!
Beautiful slow motion.
Quadratisch, praktisch, gut!
Great video ,Slo-mo just beautifully done , shows the classic Blowback functionality.
I wonder if you have done the Russian PPSH before?
Great weapon!
Amazing Photography !
those slow mo angles :). Thanks for the vid!
Man i just love that sound!
The editing of this video is freaking incredible
Definitely a video you can watch over and over sweet weapon
Nicely done video!
Isn't it cool how sub guns in general and 9mm ones in particular are totally back in fashion lately? I guess the gun guys of the 30's and 40's were onto something or maybe subs are just too much fun to ever die out.
Excellent camera angles
the equivalent to the Mauser, timeless innovation!
It's totally cool. I just purchased one, but mine will be semi-auto in order for me to get fully automatic. I will half to get the ATF stamp , but I can't wait to get it. The dealer at the sporting gun shop had to order it 👌🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
stellar video production
Outstanding.
best slow motion gun fire i have ever seen , the end , period
Loving this
great vid & editing
Always loved that gun !
Best user vid on the mp38...brilliant, best slo-mo I have ever seen.
What about the sten or the Russian "burp" gun.....
Larry Vickers sure does know how to control muzzle rise on a full auto firearm.
Cool! Subbed! Felt like Quicksilver with the slo-mo shots😁.
Hey larry, I'm johan from sweden, thank you for the great videos. If it isn't to big of a task you guys could build a "house" with targets inside and clear it..If you know what I'm getting at.
Could be a kindasorta "timechallenge"...
What a sweet subgun, cant wait till the HMG STG-44 replicas come out.
Radical Larry still waiting lol
Awesome video dude love that gun
Bump! What a fun video. I really enjoy these

The Police in Chicago needs to be carrying those!
