Wow, I think this is one of the best videos on the channel! For various reasons:
1) the car is one of my all-time favorites.
2) 108 dents make the processing extremely complex and delicate
3) perhaps this is the oldest car brought to the channel and this, as you yourself underlined, created further difficulties in the processing.
Finally, as always, incredible result, absolutely perfect. Great Martin!
Amazing feedback thank you so much!
I knew this vehicle would be great for a video and as one of my favourite vehicles I wanted to firstly get this car repaired to a super standard, but also create a full “how to” video of the repair to show you guys
Il admit it is quite a long video and I do talk a lot on it. But it’s definitely full of info and the vehicle has been saved from the bodyshop
Thanks again Massimo for your comment
Martin
16:57 Nice transition!
@@Conservator. thank you 🙏 Hope your enjoying all the videos
@@dentremover01 I do! Thank you too!
Hey thanks. What kind of markers do you use. And how do you know which tip to use
Hi Bill. I use chalk markers from Amazon
Dear Sir: I, too, am a craftsman and I would just like to say that it is a complete privilege as well as an honor to watch you work. I very much enjoy your videos. Thank you from Kevin in Seattle, WA. USA
Hi Kevin thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words and it’s great to hear you enjoyed the video and my channel. I put a lot into these repairs/edits to show as much of the repair process as possible
Thanks again and all the best
Martin 🇬🇧
Excellent work! Fair play for your perseverance Martin!
What the heck were the crowd parking next to it doing though!
Thank you! It was a small accident in a home garage unfortunately!
I don't know how you don't get "snow-blinded" from constant staring and concentration. Made of stern stuff I guess. Great work.
Thanks Stuart. To be honest I just drift away into other thoughts while I’m fixing dents if that makes sense. The led board or lines don’t bother me, intricate work with micro highs and lows on the lined reflection can be testing for the eyes and mind but it’s short lived!
Amazing repair Martin! It looked like someone was using it for tennis practice 🎾Great save for a lovely car! 👏👏👏
Hey Jake! I know right!! Worst panel I’ve seen! Even hail not as bad
Repaired lovely though!
Happy new year Jake and family
Whoa! She has a bad case of cellulitis on her bedonkedonk! I have a stupid question, I'm sure, but if you put tape on the inside panel, before working out the dents, would it prevent the paint from being damaged on the inside of the wheel well or would it make the work harder???
Hi Al Casey great question and yes it would. I do use coated tips and it only took of some paint and didn’t go all the way through
It’s only the sharp finishing tips that can scratch the paint but a small bit of wax oil and it’s covered.
Wow Martin, that WAS a marathon..! excellent work dude! 👍👍👍
What kind of heat do you recommend in centigrade..?🤔
Thank you.
As a guide I’d say anything hit enough that you can’t keep your hand on, 90-100 degrees C but I’d look into it elsewhere and double check. I know from experience how hot I can go but I haven’t checked the temp. I will make a point of checking next time
Hi mate from Australia iv really enjoyed watching your videos. I'm a panel beater from the 90s. Can I ask you what it would cost to get all the tools iv seen you use on some of theses bigger to smaller jobs iv seen you do
Hi! Thanks for your question and well done as a panel beater !
My tools cost quite a few K
But I’d say on a daily basis my tools are less than 1k that I use
That’s a few bars and tips. The hammer and knock down and my light board and battery
If I glue pulling then it’s a board, hammer and knock down, glue gun, tabs and a lifter. So again maybe a grands worth.
But once they are bought then you don’t need to re purchase. Only the glue at $40 for 36 sticks that lasts a good month !
If you charge $2 a stick or a GPR job then your quids in
Beautiful work and great video.I could just pick bits out which help me at the beginning..what tool to use and stuff..Thank you for this
No problem at all thank you
Excellent work. Yep, a crazy ex and her high heel would absolurely do it.
That would make a lot of mess. Totally innocent damage on this car
Amazing Martin mate I have been going to Martin for a long time with my cars definitely the best in the uk
Thank you so much Craig very kind of you 🙌🏼
Holly cow Martin! That's an amazing repair mate 🤛🏼👏🏼👌🏼Well done, I'm not sure I'd of known where to even start!
Thank you very much!! I was the same! I always try to repair the hardest first. If that goes wrong then I haven’t spent hours for nothing
Great video as always! 🍻 What is the oldest model year that you would confidently use a glue tab?
Thank you!
Hmmm I’m careful with anything sub 20 years ago
Anything repainted won’t be glued
I love how I see these videos all over UA-cam and then I go to the collision center/body shop and they immediately say "no, we're cutting it out"....
I know right! They need to up their game!
Credit where credit is due, one amazing vidio, simple as 👌
Thank you so much!!!
How many pounds worth of equipment do you need to do these repairs ?
I reckon about 1k if you really skimped
But it’s the training and experience like many other trades that’s the most important thing.
Martin worked on my car. He’s brilliant 👍
Nice one! Thank you so much
That’s Amazing work well done 👍 ❤🤩
Thank you Raymond!
Awesome repair Mr Dent Remover! I know you like your Porsche's so I'm sure you enjoyed saving this one!
Thank you Mr LPO oh yeah I treated the lady very nicely! I want one!
What dose work like this cost The owner of The porsche ?
Hi. It’s hard to give an exact figure. It’s not less than 1k, some insurance companies could pay out 4-6k
I can price by the dent but not less than £40 a dent on a job like this. Either way it is expensive BUT repairing Paintless like I did does NOT lessen the value of the car like filler and paint would.
Hope this helps
I known its always a sore subject to discuss costs, but how much woukd that repair cost? You spent almost two days on that work, but on a ball park what is the cost to the owner for all that time and expertise?
Thanks for your comment. Yes it’s always difficult to give exact figures because it’s between me and the customer.
But to give you a few examples,
If this car had a single dent on the 1/4 then I’d measure the size, and add any other factors like depth, if it’s a crease or not, if I need to remove the arch liner and all these are added as a %, maybe 15-25% of the dent price. One dent at 50mm could be 150-200 plus the factors plus 20%vat
As an example and option to cost, if I get a can or can in with multiple dents on a panel then il count all the dents and price at a discounted and fixed price, maybe £40 per dent.
I could also offer a day rate too.
It’s not always about price though and I know people just look at 107 X £40 and forget all the other info I just wrote and say wow that’s a lot…… but the panel was saved within 2 days, no filler was applied and the paint was kept original. The cost of the PDR repair compared to a conventional filler & Paint and all the other hassle not to mention de valuing a classic Porsche will be well worth it.
I hope this helps explain your question. Every repair is different so I price on size, quantity, the job =£
@@dentremover01 thank you for the reply. I can fully understand the need for PDR, and not wanting to add paint and filler. A great informative post. thanks
I tried my best to explain it! Happy new year
It's pronounced Poorschaaa...
Thanks. I say Porsche. I have one 😉
3:34 108 dents. That’s criminal. I don’t understand people who are so careless with other person’s possessions. 😞
Hi Conservator thanks for your comment and for your other comments too 🙌🏼
It was a pure accident the Porsche, just one of those things. It wasn’t malicious and it wasn’t done by someone outside of the family. Just an accident
@@dentremover01 Ah, that’s good to hear. The family must have been thrilled with your work!
@@Conservator. yes they where! Was great to see it all shiny and dent free!
Il reply to your question asap regards heating the panel. Out for NYE 🙌🏼
@@dentremover01 Thanks for all your replies hope you’ll have a lovely and well deserved great time! Cheers!
well done super job, great video
Thank you Mr Grumpy
Absolutely amazing job mate love what you do! I want to train up in this profession for work make some money eventually! Great work love watching I learn a lot 👍
Thank you Andi. You can buy cheap tools and practice on an old panel. If you enjoy it then look at training 🙌🏼
Super work Martin. I expected nothing less than perfection as always. 108 dents… that’s the luxury Christmas Turkey paid for and a trip to Lap Land all in one sitting 😅
Thanks Nigel! I may have enough for a nice dinner on Xmas day! I’m sure I made the customers Xmas too saving the Porsche!!
Hope you have a great Christmas 🙌🏼
Huuuuuge work !!! Maestro 🎉
Haha thanks 🤩
Sei un grande ottimo lavoro 🎉
Amazing! Thank you
Nice work Martin that was not nice. Beautiful result as always and a result with it being single skinned. I was sure they were not accessible so I'll remember that in future 👍
Hi Andy thanks! I know I was over the moon when I figured it was fully open and single skinned!
You could have 99 Bottles of beer on the wall as background music?
Hahahahajaj
Fantastic video, hilarious damage. Your best video yet!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
Boy do you have some serious skills, well done. Just out of interest what is the cost for a job like this?
Thank you so much! It’s hard to price a job up like this.
One of those dents alone would be around 100-200
So to price a panel with 107 there has to be another way of estimating.
Personally I don’t like going lower than 40 a dent
Again this repair was cheaper than the above prices and was charged at a day rate.
Hi Martin, I'm soon to take delivery of a new vehicle I purchased and on advise have had the latest paint protection applied which is a considerable cost to have done, reason being that most paint products are now mainly water based due to environmental issues, was wondering if you have come across this with vehicles in the UK and how this may affect pdr with regards to glue pulling and texture. Lovely work as usual cheers mate 🇬🇧😎🦘
Hey Bill!
Congratulations buying your new car!
I wouldn’t worry at all, modern paint is far better than older cars, some Japanese cars from about 10 years ago had very thin paint but this was still fine for normal use. Glue pulling Subaru/hondas was a minefield
But you will have NO issues and if your having a ceramic or PPF then this will add even more protection.
Make sure you don’t stress and make sure you enjoy that new car!
Merry Christmas to you and family
Martin
Thanks Martin, I wasn't planning to buy another car it came about due to circumstance. Happy Christmas and all the best 🎅🇬🇧😎🦘
Absolutely amazing job. Top quality work 👍👍
Thank you Corey
Stunning repair. Who would allow dents in such a car ?
Shocking isn’t it! I’d have cried if it was mine !
❤
Thanks
What an achievement!!!
Thank you Mark, that’s what I thought too
Martin ...your skills are amazing
What is this alchemy lol :o) Amazing job mate !

Thank you Alfredo!!
Access like that is always a dream! Fantastic job as always!
100%
Thanks !
Just incredible!!!
Thank you 🙏
Why are you using tape on the tip and what kind of tape is that thank you fantastic
To keep the sharp tip of the tools from creating a high spot on the panel. Amazon sells the tape. I think Tesla tape
The tape is called Tesa Tape
Mercedes sell it, it’s £20 a roll. PDR shops sell it as edgy tools tape for about £22+vat
Just one word "AMAZING"
Thank you so much
Awesome work!!! I enjoy your videos!!!
But how in the world do you get 108 dents without realizing you are damaging your car..
Thank you Adnan I appreciate your kind words.
Accident in the garage over time unfortunately. These things happen
So many dents amazing work 🔝
Thank you
Great job, you are a champion☺
Thank you so much 🙌🏼
What is the difference between the hula hoop and the hula hoop hub I see sold. Description looks same with only 10 dollars difference. Cheers from Alaska
Hi! The one with a hub means you can add a T handle or straight to lengthen the tool
The standard one I use weekly and it doesn’t go out of shape!
Wow that's awesome, good job 👍❤
😊 thank you so much
Beautiful job Martin.
Thank you martin happy new year
