I believe I remember the story about the guy with the broken leg. If I remember correctly, the day after he did the hex, the guy broke his leg in a car accident. Funny thing is, I believe he physically broke another guy's leg too. I think it was a guy from Armoured Saint. The guy pushed Lars down to the ground (this was back when Dave was in Metallica) and Dave broke his leg. He told the guy not to push his friend around. I mean, he also beat up the guys in his own band from time to time back then too, so... 🤣 I'm glad he eventually straightened up. I really believe he's a good guy who deserves a lot of credit for being where he is after all the struggles he's been through. I wish that he and James could have been able to come together at some point and work on a side project. I think that would have been epic, but I think that train left the station long ago.

    Some of Dave's finest quotes:
Rob Halford always looks like Ace Hardware blew up next to him.
We don't have long to play opening for Aerosmith because they don't have long to live. (not sure if he meant because of their age or he was mad at them)
We didn't even tell Chuck Behler he was fired - we just hired Nick and stopped calling him.
I was really into Rush until Alex Lifeson went to the moon. ( I think I remember that - Alex's trip to the moon I mean)
Chris Poland was always giving our driver guff on the Killing is my Business tour so one day when he kept egging him on and the driver kept pounding the steering wheel with his fist, he finally pulled the bus over, got up, and bounced Chris upside down head first down the stairs of the bus and out onto the street.
When he met his wife Pam at a club, he initially told his assistant to go over and tell her he'd like to meet her. So the assistant did and then returned to Dave without her because she said if he wanted to meet her, he could approach her himself. (I actually foresaw the end of that story before I even read it. I can't believe he did that.)

Dave’s vocals have massively improved since his throat cancer which is astounding to me! I heard he took voice lessons to deal with the surgery trauma, which makes sense. The few tracks I’ve heard on their new album is 🔥 In the past he tells the sad story about an incident during his horrific addiction phase when he took a massive dose of either opioids or downers and slept on his left arm for almost an entire day and destroyed the nerves in his arm. He had to get major surgery and relearn how to play guitar. I am about halfway through the Rogan interview and am overjoyed at how his life has turned around and how he is in such a great place physically, mentally, spiritually etc. after such an abusive childhood with a crazed & sadistic alcoholic father and years of ensuing substance abuse! I read his harrowing story in his autobiography a few years back and it is SO compelling, I think I read the entire thing in one day! God BLESS Dave Mustaine, the Man, the Myth, the Legend!!!

All he says is pretty much true, I've heard the interviews from the 80s to today, he has not changed a single word from his answers to the same questions he has been answering for the last 40 years. I've read his biographies and listened to many interviews he's had over the years and him and I think very much alike. I'm not so sure if it's because him and I are both Virgos lol (I was never really into zodiac signs and that kind of stuff) It's not the ego or narcissistic tendencies, but the humble beginnings of being raised and forced to be a Jehovah's witness, getting out of that and the aspects of being a musician and the experience in all that is what I can relate to.
I was raised in a Spanish catholic cult of sorts, not the kind where they do some weird immoral stuff in the name of god, but a very dogmatic group of Catholics. I didn't have an option to attend different catholic churches, it just so happened that the one I went to with my mother and brother every weekend and every week night at bible study was the messed up church lol All other churches in our town denounced them. When I discovered my love for music and the guitar, it was my escape. Much like Dave I started at a very young age, the problem is that I didn't stick with it for long. Public schools, Bible School and the church became obstacles I couldn't avoid until I came of adult age. Guitar and metal were things I had to keep secret unless I was with my father. Afterall, he was the one that got me into all of it. My mother originally wanted me to be a priest since I had been a very active member with the church and had helped with many of the religious services along with the priest over those years, and so she insisted that I attend a seminary to study philosophy, theology and of course religion. My father at this time didn't care what I did, he was always more open minded than my mother was. He wasn't religious, my hypocritical mother married him more for lustful reasons and his wealth that he had earned from family inheritance than anything else. I was so glad to leave that all behind.

It's an old story. He used to talk about it occasionally. Not so much since he got saved, which I understand.
Oh and I love Joe Rogan's podcasts, but this was an odd one. He was really pushing the conversation, kinda like a regular interviewer. And JOE.... you've got. Dave freaking Mustain sitting in front of you.... QUIT fangirling over Hendrix! LMAO

As a life long fan of Dave , I believe the chemo and radiation has fucked with his thought process when talking, I’ve seen it before with people who had the same treatments . Nevertheless loved hearing him on Rogan

I read a headline the other day of the bassist for Metallica before cliff dispute mustaines claim as the alpha male of metallica... he said mustaine punched James in the face and smashed him over a coffee table.... sounds pretty alpha to me.

The second half of leper messiah and you can hear it on the mcgovney garage riff tapes . Also metallicas version of " credit " is already written songs dave brought from his previous band being credited as ulrich , hetfield and mustaine at the end .this is why there won't be a special edition of the no life til leather demo
