    The police work wasn't just disgusting but also inhumane, watching someone die and not at least trying to help is horrific...

      The only hesitation I have is that the cop wasn't trained in first-aid. He may have literally been told not to administer first-aid in certain cases because of legal/safety repercussions. I agree that the police work was a monumental failure on every level and this officers actions were awful but they likely stemmed from issues so much higher than him.

      There is absolutely no excuse that I can think of. If they didn't know the proper medical procedures, at the very least, they could have held his hand and spoken nicely to him. I wonder what, if anything, they ever said about their behavior.

    In secondary school we were told about this case for black history month. I have never ever had any teachers explain to me about who the victim was, what he liked and disliked or just his general mannerisms. We were just told about the fact that this was a racist attack and a young black man died because of it. Then we were told in extensive detail about what happened to the murderers after.
    Thank you Eleanor for giving this boy an actual personality beyond his attack. Reminding everyone that a person died, a young ambitious man who didn’t deserve anything that happened to him. Thank you for telling Stephen’s story and not just a story of a racist attack ❤️

She told me after his death his murderers turned up at a local party being held and everyone immediately felt uncomfortable as they knew what they had done but since they hadn’t been convicted, no one could do or say much, mostly out of fear too. Her and her friend left the party but the thought of them being able to roam around so freely after blatantly murdering that man makes me feel sick!

I mentioned I was sick once at the church I’m at and was given soup at my door a day later and calls asking if I was ok. ❤️ Bless those two people, they didn’t have to do that but they did. Praise God. We are COMMANDED to love EVERYONE equally, and to never judge. Unconditional love is the most important Christian value, and although I see it all the time, too often the public doesn't because we're also told to be humble and often times, completely anonymous when giving donations or volunteering. We're not supposed to "sound a trumpet" when we give alms to the poor or to the church, but to do our good works "in the darkness" so that it is sure to be from the heart instead of for others to see and give us praise for. That moment between Steven and his 2 angles was a genuine act of love, for the benefit of Steven alone. I'm so proud that they did this. It's a great reminder to me because, I tend to become hot-headed and confrontational when I see injustice, and I would've been shouting at police to help him, which isn't probably what he needed at the time. He needed comfort and love, and he was given just that before he left this world. It's my belief that God placed that couple there so that Steven wouldn't have to die alone. I'm sure his parents are very, very grateful for that.

      goodish art but they also profiled Stephens friend thinking he was the one who stabbed him when he could clearly tell them what actually happened. Even if you don’t know first aid, you’d be able to asses someone’s wounds. They didn’t do it cause they didn’t want to. The police work was sloppy for this case because to them this was just another black kid who was involved in gangs and that he was a criminal. There were multiple witnesses to give a description of who did it. Clearly white men. And they still tried to pin it on black on black gang violence. This case reeks racism on all sides

      Melissa Blair, a similar case happened in my country Spain, it's called "Las Niñas de Alcásser" everything about that case was so strange, the authorities told Spain who were the "killers" but most of us think is a lie... We think that very powerful people are involved in the girls' deaths but of course the case became so famous and the whole country wanted to know who were the guilty ones, they gave us the killers but fake ones... Like I said everyone thinks that the authorities and the press lied, since in a mysterious way they lost evidence, also the videos from the autopsies disappeared, witnesses were interviewed months and even years later, the autopsies revealed that the girls were raped since puvic hair was found on their viginas, this puvic hair belonged to eight different people and the ones who were accused of committing the crimes were only two individuals and they were tested to see if one of those specimens belonged to one of them but the results came back negative.

    My dad is a retired police officer, and a very strong willed man. He’s told me before that the most difficult aspect of his job is the amount of times where his higher ups, the law, and the judicial system constantly fail to keep innocent people safe, and guilty people locked up. He was a police officer in the Deep South of the US, and unfortunately racial bias is very real. And with the political and social tension that’s been propagated here recently, it became loads worse. So he left the force, because he no longer felt like he was genuinely helping people anymore, and that’s the most disappointed and upset that I’ve ever seen my Dad. Jordan Evans. Equality, ending racial segregation and racism, peace, no war, no killing. Dr. King is a reminder of what this great nation needs to be. “ rock of brotherhood” one nation...one god

    • @jordanevans2554
      @jordanevans2554 6 років тому +12

      Jonnie Collins if you’re saying that that’s what you think about on every MLK Day, then that’s great. However I think it’s BS that we have MLK day when It’s our own government that conspired and killed him. It’s a pity “holiday” to remember a white washed history. However, a Trayvon Martin Day, Or Sandra Bland Day, would be our nation acknowledging that something is wrong current day.

    Eleanor, instead of promising videos by a certain date, just do them as you can. Quit putting pressure and time constraints on yourself! The world isn't gonna stop spinning if you don't give videos a timeline. That way you can stop feeling the need to apologise as well. Most people view these at leisure....we will be ok if they're not pre- scheduled. 💞
