    The Rigmor mods are so full of red flags concerning the author it's insane, shit is creepy

  • @grzegorzflorek5623
    @grzegorzflorek5623 Рік тому +60

    I've got to agree about Rigmor mods - the dialogues are really off putting sometimes, and you've nailed it when you said (wrote) that character lines make it feels like the characters are talking like 13 year old children. And the usage of words like angel or proteines really breakes immersion.

      Very few are actually aware of the 36(37) lessons of vivec and they won't even understand the meaning of that word so scholars would just label it as "vivec being vivec"

      Yes.
      But.
      Only after Rigmor of Tamriel is completed and released.
      Supposedly that will be the final chapter.
      Given what's already transpired in Bruma & Cyrodiil - I can't even begin to imagine what will be generated...
      Aside from the continued emotional incontinence of Rigmor.

  • @TheMaleRei
    @TheMaleRei 7 місяців тому +10

    Rigmor was...
    Challenging to endure - simply watching the playthrus of various channels.
    Clearly a labor of love and passion - the mod author at least *does* listen to some criticism by the players - especially when changing things regarding you know what - and it is certainly expansive the scope the mod author wishes to cover.
    I am very curious as to how the third chapter is going to turn out.
    As much as it might cause you an aneurism or worse - I would be very interested to witness your dissection of the completed series.

    Identity crisis is gold. The author of that mod has also made a bunch of similar daedric priest related home mods which all have their own unique features, Tale of Tsatampra Xilos is also a pretty awesome one. It features the same Wes Johnson impersonator but this time he is voicing hermaeus Mora. The player house in that one is cool, and it also adds a new major follower/npc which is just joy to have around.

    I feel like the Rigmor mods would have been much more fitting as a Last of Us mod, but that game does not have the modding capability to do so, so it ended up in Skyrim where it does not fit at all.
    1 or 2 hours into those mods I decided none of this actually happens for my character, but I wanted to see where this story goes. And the story went everywhere!
    From Skyrim to Cyrodiil, to Atmora, the high seas, to the Emperor of Tamriel, nothing was missed.

    • @projectpems8304
      @projectpems8304 9 місяців тому

      It could work as a Fallout 3 mod. Post apocalyptic world like Last of Us, but way easier to mod, plus the dialogue could actually work with the rest of Fallout 3’s campiness if you wanted to weld it to the main quest.

    • @amazinghorizon8270
      @amazinghorizon8270 9 місяців тому +1

      @@projectpems8304 I think even for Fallout 3 the dialogue choices would be way to restrictive to fit into the game.
      With Last of Us it would fit because, you don‘t have any dialogue choices, you just listen to the characters talk, you never have any agency about their behavior.
      Just like in the Rigmor mods.

    A smaller quest mod I really enjoyed was Khajiit Will Follow. I haven't done all of it yet but the voice acting is truly top-notch, especially considering Khajiit voices seem to be rarely done well (aside from Inigo). It also suffers a little from trying to fit into the lore a bit _too_ hard, but it's not _that_ bad; just ignore the part where you discover a new Tool of Kagrenac lmao.

    As someone who actually finished the Rigmor mods, I 100% understand and even if part 3 ever comes out I probably won't touch it.
    The writing is just so bad and misunderstands so much about the lore and puts a really annoying character front and center, acts like "Oh she's just a flawed character" when she's actually infuriatingly childish, and forces you to act like she's your best buddy when in reality most players are only still playing to get to the end and be done with it.

    Mods I would like you to cover:
    Phenderix Magic World - I don't know if it is a good quest mod or just a good magic mod, so I would like a review on it.
    Darkend - I don't understand the story of that place and I haven't found a good explanation, you were the one who made Beyond Reach understandable to me, so you might be able to piece this one together aswell
    The Shire - very curious what you think of it
    Summerset Isle - according to the description and download size, a giant mod but very little coverage, and my playthrough does not have enough free engine references so that I can try it.
    Death Consumes All - a very big mod with multiple endings and a lot of choices generally, so a good summary would be nice
    Meridias Order - New mod, I like it so far, would love this as an excuse to dive into the Meridia Lore
    There is no Umbra - haven't played through it yet myself but heard positive feedback from it
    Legend of Slender Man - very cool mod, but I only understood the basics there is surely stuff to uncover here
    The Shadow of Meresis - same deal as with Slender Man

    It's really a shame that Rigmor being so.... Rigmor, still has some of the best narratives about how military and peace talks during war worked in the real world, and one the best endings for a Skyrim Main Character, particularly if Imperial.

    It's nice to see someone else that actually liked Voyage to the Dreamborne isles. Generally when I see someone mention it it's not in a positive light. I'm very picky with quest mods but I really liked it.
    My only problem with it are the combat sections. They really add nothing to the experience and they turn a mod that could have been enjoyed at any level into one that you should only start around level 25, or even higher depending on your combat and difficulty mods. Also the fact that the "overpowered" weapons you're given to make these sections less painful were all bows and crossbows is really inconvenient if you're playing a mage or a melee character. I got over 50 wasted levels of marksmanship on a character that wasn't meant to use bows by the end of the mod. I could have used my melee weapons or spells but fighting against the small army of bandits in the first zone without the explosive crossbow was absolutely impossible with the character I had.

    Mods from Nimwraith
    XamMaximus - The Prototype's Deception - seems like a big mod no idea why it is so unpopular, is on my to play list, but there are lots of mods still on that list
    Ravengate - best Arena I have ever experienced
    Second Great War - best War mod I have played
    Skygerfall Daggerfall Mainquest in Skyrim - simply a good mod
    Agent of Rigtheous Might - terrible Hub area, great Questline

    Every time my list broke before i could get there. Curse you nessecity to roleplay.
    Now i play the rigmor mods not because i think they are good, but cause sometimes i just want some slop. Also modding is challenging and the fact that rigmor got as far as it got, makes me begrudgingly respect the mod.

    I have never seen someone describe the rigor mods better than you I played through rigmor of Bruma but when he came to the second one, I just could not bring myself to it don’t give me wrong the author really does put some effort into it, but like you said it’s just too lore breaking and like you said at 13:50 that could’ve fixed a lot of problems instead, the author has a tendency to play on the lore trying to make it their own thing I can definitely tell there’s a lot of passion put into it, but it just does not work not for me it’s too lore breaking and if you ask me especially like you said the wording use just takes you out of the idea of it being a fantasy game and it seems far too off, the reason I stopped playing the second one was when it started getting into the fact that you either have to be in a relationship with her or be really good friends with her and it doesn’t help that I usually make my characters really old or like to imagine them being old and I don’t think I like the idea of a very young woman being in a relationship with a super old man that is my character and There’s no other choice and the dialogue is just so corny at times and it just doesn’t work but I think the worst part is it takes you out of the idea of freedom that these games give you you’re no longer role-playing as your own character instead, you’re having to babysit this brat and you have no option when it comes to how you handle the decision she makes you no longer feel like a fantasy hero and it’s really off putting for that reason among many others. Also, I love your content and your lore videos keep up the amazing content

    I played through Rigmor once, considered replaying it once the third part releases but decided against it. Rigmor as a character is unlikable and you’re basically always forced to be nice to her even after telling her to shut up when shes being annoying, as well as certain things you need to do with her otherwise the quests won’t carry on, made the mod feel creepy (not in the scary sense), weird, cringe, and sometimes disgusting.

    The Rigmor mods you played is the reboot. And i havent bothered touching it. I could barely get through the originals before shelving them. adding modern language is what put me off. I play Elder Scrolls to immerse myself in a dark, gritty, war torn realm that has dragons as a secondary narrative. Not to have a millennial f*cking teen whine about her personal life.

    I thought the first Rigmor mod was ok, considering when it was made. But just ok - not a mod I have plans of replaying anytime. Compare that to Vigilant, which I am happy to turn on god mode and run through a bunch of times because the writing and spectacle are great, or LOTD, which is a mod with absolutely terrible writing but turns the game into a fantastic collect a thon.
