Cory Feldman and Corey Haim experienced all of this ab*se as child stars in the 1980's and when they came out and talked about it people labeled them as "crazy" too and now Haim is dead and Cory is still speaking out about what he went through and has had his own struggles with drugs (Haim died from an OD sadly).

He had a rough home life, and his father was abusive and a drug addict so that definitely explains a lot of his issues. But it's definitely possible that he experienced abuse at the hands of other people as well.

Drake's 'Child Endangerment' case is so misunderstood by the media. The girl reached out to him via text and once he found out her age he stopped messaging her immediately. Her parents found out who he was and pressed charges for money.

watching the doc, as a 90's kid it absolutely shattered my heart seeing hearing and knowing what my childhood stars went through and how the adults failed them. It broke my heart that Drake's dad was shut out from Drake's life and how Peck took advantage of the missing father to attack Drake.

It doesn't really sound like you read her book. She talked very briefly about Dan and only mentioned that he was verbally abusive on set and that he was punished by nickelodeon. Most of the book was about her relationship with her mom and all the problems she had as a result of her.

As someone who was a drug and alcohol therapist for years I’ve seen people doing jail time for years + probation/parole + mandatory rehab for simply having an addiction rather than being sent to treatment. These predators get 16 months for ruining a child’s life and endangering/ abusing them. It’s so messed up

My guess it's for legal protection from a lawsuit because Brian pleaded no contest instead of pleaded guilty meaning he will face the penalities of the crime convicted of without admitting guilt.

"Allegedly" is almost always said only if the person has not been convicted. For example, still on trial. There is no excuse to use "allegedly" in this case. I notice media are using this word and also "claims" needlessly and more often, which downplays and misrepresents the truth.
The documentary didn't mention this but I want to remind the internet: Dan asked for children to submit feet photos through his twitter.

I came so close to entering this world in the early 1990s. I made a magazine cover and was an extra in a movie. I had dreams of being just like the Nickalodean/ Disney kids. Thankfully, early on, I was jaded by the experience of being on a set for 8 hours into the evening. I knew it wasn't right to be out past dark on a movie set, when I should be home watching TV and playing video games. Just being a kid. Not an adult. I thought differently as a child. I didnt fall for the B.S. My heart goes out to these people who went further into the industry than I did. What happened to them could definitely have happened to me.

It seems that Dan Schneider knew throughout his career exactly how to get away with controlling people. After his connection with Amanda Bynes ended, he seemed to become more wary of people catching on, especially after Handy and Peck were arrested. But then he felt he could get away with it and continued his creepy behavior when making Zoey 101, iCarly, and Victorious. Many people will never be able to watch these shows the same way ever again
He needs to be held accountable and go to prison for his crimes. Nobody cares about his Hollywood ties, nobody is exempt from the law !

I was SAed in 2019 when I was 17. He was a coworker who was years older than me. He groomed me for about a year and I thought he was my friend. Seeing my assaulter be praised and loved by my coworkers at my old job really did hurt. It really is secondary trauma. My parents still don't know the full extent of what happened because I'm still scared to tell them. He's a really big guy compared to me, especially now because I've lost a ton of weight since that night and if word goes around that I want to press charges, he would take me out definitely. I don't plan on talking about it until either I or he moves out of state. I still have issues now because of him.
Where I live the statute of limitations doesn't end until the minor turns 55 years old

Drake and josh was my fav show, I would watch it for hours and loved every episode but this breaks my heart not knowing this was going on and the impact it had on Drake smh, now when I see drake and josh on I just can’t watch it anymore
I’m just curious.. not that I would want it to happen to every child but , why hasn’t everyone experienced this? Because Josh hasn’t said anything, so did he not go through it? Ariana Grande hasn’t said anything either, did she not go through it either? How are the chosen ones singled out?
At least this wasn't actively happening during Drake and Josh. The brian stuff happened before that show aired. Still, it sucks to know drake was dealing with all this trauma the entire time

parents of abused kids are often also victims of manipulation. stop rushing to blame people if you weren’t there and don’t know the circumstances of what went on. The podcast for years has talked of how Ben Savage ghosted them with no idea why. I wonder if the other cast members (Fishel, Strong and Friedle ALL wrote support letters) for Peck back in 2003 had anything to do with it.
Just watched the first episode and it's disgusting. Everyone they interviewed and everyone who wouldn't show up to be interviewed could have blown the whistle but they didn't because they valued the money over their own morals.

No one thinks it’s ok, it’s just a reason why it happens. Things could have reasons even when those reasons don’t excuse the behavior.
The Drake thing was very different. He was texting back and forth with a child he believed to be an 18 year old. She got caught in a lot of lies in court which is why he only got 200 hours of community service. When he found out she was a child he immediately cut off contact but the damage had already been done from the previous messages they sent back and forth when he was under the impression he was speaking with an 18 year old adult female.
What happens in the dark always comes to light, I hope Dan realizes that.
