I’m really surprised this was your first reaction ever to an Audioslave song....I would’ve thought you would’ve gone more for Like a Stone or Shadow On The Sun. He is an all-time ICONIC Rock Vocalist, and is worthy of a deep dive, for both of his main bands: Soundgarden and Audioslave.
My favorite Soundgarden song is "The Day I Tried to Live", and it features one of his best vocal tracks, so that's my recommend for them. As for Audioslave, most people will say "Like a Stone", but I'll say "Shadow on the Sun".

All 3 Audioslave albums are super prime. There's not a bad song on them and a ton of great vocals and grooves. Every single one of them is almost as perfect from top to bottom as GnR's Appetite For Destruction.
