Just watched the video, there's one missing requirement for TDP control on the Legion Go. For working TDP control, you either need STAMP/STAPM enabled in the bios, or use the `Lenovo Custom TDP` toggle in SimpleDeckyTDP. If you don't enable one of those options, TDP control won't work on the LGO
Yep i saw this somewhere, I will make sure todo this
Love your video too Aru this is more up to date with the fedora distro and all, but i gotta say you are like bullet train on your how too i have to go back over and over because of how fast you moved through the steps having another lad on youtube give it a go as a non over technical wizzard spin is good too.
@@Denver_tldhaha, makes sense. I thought I had gone slow enough, but it seems not. I'm just glad that there's more resources for to help users 😃
Do you know if there's something similar on rog Ally? Some sort of setting i have to turn on to make TDP sliders work?
@@Big_Daddy953 not that I know of, is it not working for you?
Loving your videos on Bazzite , especially with regards to the Ally. Very chilled, relaxed presenting style also.
I knew liking and subscribing last night would work. Now we got the tutorial haha thank you so much
Thanks for the sub!
Thanks for making this! Appreciate it!
Will be installing Bazzite on Rog Ally.
If you have questions about Bazzite not related to installation, see my last video. If you run into the “bitlocker issue” you can go into settings, security and encryption on the windows settings to turn it off.
Youre an actual legend. The step by step on the partition bit was a life saver! You definitely earned this sub.
You’re a legend! Couldn’t find any other video on this. Thank you!!
This video is awesome, I installed Bazzite OS on my Legion Go. I have to tinker around with Proton Again, however I have experience thanks to SteamDeck. I have a feeling that I will shrinking my windows partition even more. My ROG Ally is still my straight Windows 11 Device. I cant wait to finish work so I have to install decky loader and other add ons.
Thank you for making this experience easy to DualBoot CyberDopamine and tyvm Aru for Bazzite OS.
I don't really leave comments on videos, but as someone who's relied on tuts for the last couple of decades this is one of the best.
You take your time without wasting time, speaking chilled enough to follow easily.
Awesome work!
Very well done, thank you sooo much for doing this. I subscribed and thumbs up 🤘
Top quality guide. Appreciate your effort!
Just found this channel. Holy hell such good content. Excited for future videos!
Dude thanks a lot!!!!
Thank you so much . just installing it on my legion go 👍
Thanks for this. Thanks for the great content, CD.
Great job. The fact that you are not an "expert" has served your video well. Clear, concise, and easy to follow instructions.
Well done to you sir, keep up the good work.
thanks so much for the tutorial, Followed it & working *pretty flawlessly* on my legion go, DAMN gyro on the detached controllers is insanelyyyyyyyyyyy good!!! literally a game changer and this is coming from a huge windows lover lol.
Love it man enjoy the heck out of it!!!!
Thanks. worked like a charm, im going to do a video testing performance between windows and steam, I'll shout you out and this video as well
YESSSSSSS Helping the community!!!! That’s awesome I’m looking forward to it!!!!
You are amazing guy. Thank you!
Gotta give This a try. Appreciate the info✌🏾
Any time!
I followed Aru’s tutorial too he is amazing!!
Lets goo! Thanks for making the guide man, hopefully its less painful than the steam deck dual booting windows 🤣
I’d say it’s the same level hahahaha
@CyberDopamine unfortunate, but atleast it works 😁
Thanks you for this, greetings from Brazil
I love you Brazilians. Had yall as my roommates it was so fun hahahahaa
Picked up the non-Extreme version of the Ally today from Best Buy for $299. Thank you so much for this guide! Bazzite makes the Ally so much better.
how did you get it for 300?
@@sneak0ut when Best Buy initially dropped the price of the Z1 around a month ago, there was a few hours where it was priced at $299. Then they raised it to $399.
@@sneak0ut It was on sale at that price for around a month
Got it for 250$ open box in Switzerland 😊
@@LeVeLud that’s a great deal. I’m loving this thing
17:53 Idk what that sound you made but it's so cute :3
Great job on the video
Very helpful video 👍
Thanks for the tutorial..really helps .. By the way do you have to install the games separately on each system?
Hi love the chilled approach taking your time is what made me use this vid as my go to.
Do you need to redo this every time you update the legion go windows bios ?
For the drive you use for flashing what format do we use fat32 ?
Thanks in advance.
OK, this is what I looking for!🎉
Found today's project, thanks king!
I'm trying to decide if I should dualboot or just swap out my m.2 drive and go straight linux on the 512gb that came stock in the Ally 🤔
Man, you're so freaking awesome ❤
Got a couple of things
The LeGo overheats and FPS are not stable. I am testing MGS V Phantom Pain. On my Steam Deck Oled it is stable, warm but not hot and always 60fps
After 5 min it turns off and crashes.
I've been following every step of the video but I can't fix it to be stable.
Thanks mate you are awesome 🎉
we can't thank you enough man!
Hey, Cheers for the video!
Question, do you need to install games twice, so on both OS-s or once is enough and both OS-s can handle it?
Yeah awesome thank you ❤
Great video as always.. I have a question, I got the 500GB model if I go on with the partition process it means that will leave very little space for games meaning having a robust Microsd is a must correct?
Omg. Thank you so much for taking so much time.and effort to make this video. Super duper useful man🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾☺️
Heck yeah no problem!!!
Thank you!
Thanks bro , I will try this on my rog ally, will this significantly improve battery efficiency?
Eta prime sent me here love the video thank you so much you rock. Just curious could i from use my onexgpu in steam os
Fantastic video!! Did you find the remapper fix?
Cheers from Portugal
The more people learn to multiboot a variety of OS the better. Handhelds have introduced a vast number of gamers to a very useful option for many computers.
Ideally the hard disc would be cartridge mounted (for more durable connectors) for rapid swapout letting anyone run any or many OS. Maybe someone will print an adapter.
Hey cyber! So I did this and works perfect!! Wondering if I can turn of cpu boost, did you try this or try figure it out for us? Turning it off would be so good and reduce impact on battery !
Great tutorial, but I have an important question before I try this myself: does the legion go's FPS Mode still function on the Linux steam os?
YOU GUYS ARE LEGENDS!!
Dude, you are a champion, thanks for the guide! Too easy. Installed it on my Rog Ally, dual booting with windows. I’ve got a 2TB SSD installed so allocated about 1TB to each of windows and bazzite. I haven’t been using the device that much, cause when I do it takes for ever doing all the updates and going into all the launchers, and I usually get bored after that then put it away. So happy to have bazzite on there now, as I mainly play my steam games on the Ally anyway. One thing, are you able to share what settings you have for the ROG Ally in SimpleDeckyTDP?
Dude that’s awesome. For my settings I am constantly changing them lol
Running to do this immediately
let me know how it goes
W video man
Wow!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Jeff Hardy teaching me how to dual boot a handheld was not in my bingo cards.
Bahahaahahahahahaha
Once installing Bazzite on the Go will future Legion Go firware updates cause issues with bazzite? Will i have to redo anything thanks
Tks you man
where can i get this ReMapper for the Ally from?, thanks for your video
So as far as i can understand you have to do this on an empty ssd correct? I ask this because im thinking on dual booting my Gpd Win Max 2 but i already have data and dont want to lose it by doing this. Sorry if its a dumb question but i have rarely do this without guides.
what dock do you use?
is there any video that shows a direct competition of rog ally on bazzite os vs steamdeck game performances
Bro I love your channel could you do a review of the Onexfly handheld please. I own it and I also own the steam deck and Legion Go but I love my Onexfly the most. I know if anyone can give the love the Onexfly deserves its you. Thanks for the amazing content.
Thanks!
heck yeah thahnks a lot!!!!!!!
On the RogAlly after pushing the power button just keep volume down pressed (in stead of smashing it) and it will go into the bios setup
How is the performance ? we need to see the play experience to make sure steam OS is open and with higher spec device it blasting out perform compare on windows OS. Your review result please, thank you !
Love the content. Keep up the good work
Do you mind sharing the name of the game your playing?
can you play games on the windows partition using bazzite OS? its like a shared folder? or do you have to convert the windows partition into btrfs to be able to shared?
Hey man great video, planning on installing Bazzite on my ROG Ally. 1 question, do you find the 512gb is enough storage after installing Bazzite and having Windows to dual boot?
It totally gets the job done but sometimes I wish there were more gigs
@@CyberDopamine thanks for the reply man, I ordered a 1TB SSD to upgrade my Ally before I go ahead with this!
I have questions, Did it waking up after suspend/sleep and back to recent game instantly? And how about the battery, Did it long lasting like a Steam Deck?
Man, you're so freaking awesome ❤
I can't install plug-ins, it takes too long and it fails.
And I follow every single step but Decky is not showing up. Any suggestions?
Thanks mate you are awesome 🎉
I wonder if booting Bazzite on the regular Z1 Rog Ally would also get a boost in performance
firstly thank you so much for this video. Loving bazzite on my ally, 2 slight issues, hoping theres an easy fix, when i wake from sleep the controller isnt responsive right away take like 2 seconds to register my button presses (still way faster than windows), i have it dual booted with only using 50gb for bazzite, when i access my games from windows partition ntfs i need to go into desktop mode on boot and enter password and then return to gaming mode and they work fine. Can i put in a script that grants access from gaming mode right away from boot? any pointers for these two questions would be really appreciated!
Stupid question here, should i reinstall steam games that already existed in windows boots ?
Whats the best way to go about updating drivers and legion go software once you are on Steam OS?
Does battery improve on the legion go by using Steam OS?
How's the battery life on the Legion Go when running it in Steam Deck mode?
Love the video and love to see your progression in the space man.
, but I have a bit of an issue. I tried following your guide and Aru’s guide and I consistently get a “failed to write boot loader configuration”. I have tried everything to find a solution online for this, but have come up short. This only happens at about midway through the install. It says that it can’t make it bootable. Very confusing and frustrating. Did you use 3.0.1 for this install?
Join the discord and ask and there’s guys in there that know how to troubleshoot more than I do
I wish I could tell you right here but I don’t know
No problem 🤙 I’ll join the discord and see. Keep up the work man, getting really good.
Can you do the same video but opposite? If you have a Steam Deck, I want to get a Bazzite/Window dualboot, I already have Bazzite installed
Does VRR work on rog ally with this os?
❤
Thanks alot for the tutorial. I have one problem, How do I pull up the keyboard on Legion Go ? on My steam deck there was a short cut Steam + X button but on Legion go it doesn't work. I have tried it with all keys and the short cut of brightness is also not working.. Please help
와진짜어메이징 굿잡🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
when I hibernate on windows it automatically reboots into bazzite when I press the power button again. how do I make it go right back into windows from where I left off?
Good afternoon. My rog ally has the defect if the arsenal and command center buttons, in addition to m1 and m2, and the lights do not work. many rog ally had already happened. this problem. Is there any way to open decky other than through the command center?
Which is better for gaming, Legion or Asus?
can i use a micro sd card instead of a usb or it worn work?
Thanks, followed for Legion Go. Using Bazzite 3.0 I believe.
How do I now dual boot. Do I have to Power on + Volume up , select Windows Boot loader, and then boot into Windows.
Or should the menu come up each time?
Cheers
what did you do?
Can you make a tutorial just for the Rog Ally ?
followed the video, but my install booted straight into bazzite not fedora? seems like everything is working so far.
Seem to just get an error when trying to do the partition resizer part! When I click resize/move partition I get a pop up saying 'Bitlocker partition not supported' help plz
My SD cards do not reading good. It says 7.6 gb. Do you know this issue?
Hi i need to know something can i install brazzite os on my sd card , i have windows already on my ssd 512 gb and sd card 512 and i want to install it on my sd card its possible ? I try but after installation finish it don't boot on sd card and i can't see sd card into boot menu please help
Damn bro. Burning the midnight oil arent ya
Yeah bruh
Could I make bazziteOS be on a different sd card?
i have manage to install it on the gpd win 4 but when i change to desktop mode it crash an blackscreen with error message
I put it to sleep. The fans are still on although very low is that normal?
Super helpful thank you, though 143 gb for the new OS is a deal breaker for me, that leaves very little storage for games
You do it how you want. I just did that for 1 game. Dragons dogma 2
I don’t play a lot of games at one time
we need to get you a new chair or some WD40 lol....all jokes aside thanks for the video...liking and subscribing
Hahahaha you’re not kidding
@@CyberDopamine games run much better on steam OS. Was playing hogwarts on the legion go (using lossless) and it was choppy. Fired it up on steamos after watching this video and kabamaram! Running smooth as butter!
Now that i absolutely love it can i redo it and add more storage to bazzite? Or how does that work lol
I don’t think you can. You will have to restart
Great vid. Subbed.
Anyone have the problem were the TDP seems locked at around 10w after wake (game on), and after that the tdp slider does not change anything on DeckyTDP.
Does he support online updates?
Noice
Anyone having issues where saved TDP settings don't seem to apply per game until you edit them each time you launch the game, or put the device asleep and wake it? Specifically, the ROG Ally.
Good guide, but how do you switch between the operating systems? I keep booting into Bazzite now no matter what
boot into bios and you can change your boot!!
@@CyberDopamineis there a program clover in steam deck.
Does it improve battery life in the Ally? I don't think u mentioned bout the ally battery life in the previous video 😅
como saco el teclado en pantalla? gracias
