I installed Bazzite to my Legion go and oh man! It Dramatically improved the way I use that device. I love the Steam OS and everything just runs perfect.
@AbdulSamad-ek8xd negligible change. Very game dependant and what you set your tdp to. The simple decky tdp isn't consistent either I set it to 20 and it still runs at 30 for example. I found that on armory crate also so I think it's very game dependant but the interface to see battery usage is just like the steam deck, performance statistics ect.

@pescadoacuatico it's not hard but windows can be annoying, loaded with bloat ware and for every benefit it has it has an offsetting downside. I used to be a big tech head and I love tweaking game setting but honestly there are times I just want a more streamlined experience. That's where Linux comes in. It can be both extremely streamlined and extremely in depth as necessary with none of windows bloat.

Bazzite made my base Z1 Ally actually useable with games, games that stuttered on Windows play just like the OG Steam Deck does on Bazzite, I am cool with some quirks as long as I can actually play games again
Currently playing persona 5 royal on rog ally with bazzite. This brings back my psp memories. It just works. Battery was almost non existent though, but i dont really care.
I have the z1 as well and am considering this just for ease of you sake but I am complete non-techy and this is way outside of my comfort zone. Good video though I think I can do it with this gide just nervous still i dont mess with settings let alone operating systems😂
Funny enough, I bought an open box ROGZ1 regular Ally and it was supposed to be 299 320+ tax. Home and set up the device, I realize that it was actually an ROGLIZ one extreme model. The craziest part is every benchmark every software I’ve encountered since then and all of the performance relative to all the videos I’ve seen matches up so this is definitely a Z one extreme Ally whether I’m on. Windows 11 , basket, or ghost spectre!

I did not do a dual boot since I have another Rog Ally. But I still have my other SSD if I ever wanted to go back to windows on this system. I would just switch them out.
I haven't done a detailed comparison of battery life with Bazzite and with Windows. But in my daily use there wasn't anything that made me think, WOW the battery is so much better with bazzite. You make a good point tho. I will definitely keep this in mind when making future videos. Still Learning....
Have you considered trying bazzite with GNOME? It's a desktop environment that in my opinion would be better for a handheld than KDE, as it works far better with touch controls.
The armory button becomes your steam button left pulls left menu right pulls right menu. Having owned both I can say the Ally feels so much better with Bazzite then with Windows. Now Linux has the same limitations so anti cheats don't play nice all the time but the tradeoff is substantially more user friendly for gaming.

Do you mean to switch to controller instead of keyboard and mouse? If thats the case, go to "Settings" on the main menu when you launch Call Of Duty, under one of the settings tab, you can select "controller" or "keyboard and mouse" as your input.
No it will not impact your warranty they cannot reject you if you do any modifications it's up to the manufacturer to provide evidence of fall pay. ASUS is learning this real quick now

Its so sad that Ally only Supports booting OS from internal SSD, but Not from Micro SD Card :( wanted to Boot BazziteOS from external while keeping Windows on internal
Using a sd card as a boot drive would be terrible though, just set out 60gbs(or you might get away with 20 or less) for bazzite and you'll have a much better time
Not sure there would be it could since it might not use the Asus power management that boost the tdp higher at times and it could push the tdp lower then the windows version and could turn off smt as well haven’t tested it yet but the z1 extreme which I have doesn’t exactly like lower then 10 watts from what I seen there is a reason the steam deck can go down to 4 watts but the z1 is weird it has more cores then the steam deck but less CU’s then it

How format ssd after this thing?! i try it and now want return to windows but after format ssd its seeing only on linux systems (yes, i format it in NTFS) and i cant install on it anything - windows installer dont see it< and any linux installers say its efi erroor(( I now have 512gb dead ssd on hands(((
If you can't delete the EFI partition using Windows Disk Management you can try using Diskpart in command line. Here are links to a couple of third party partition tools. The webpages also have tutorials on using Diskpart. I know that Aoemi partition assistant has a free download. Not sure if it covers deleting partitions. www.diskpart.com/windows-11/how-to-delete-efi-partition-in-windows-11-0825.amp.html www.easeus.com/amp/partition-master/delete-efi-system-partition.html Also, if you have access to a Mac computer you can try using Disk Utility to erase delete partitions, you would have to format the SSD in Fat32. But you could then connect it to your PC and format it in NTFS.

Hi. I'm trying to install bazzite. I get to the setup menu but when i try to install it, it stops immediately and give me an error code with the text "device still active" i have tried disebeling secur boot and fast boot. Anyone who can help
Hi I have the same problem If u delete windows you need to reinstall it after you reinstall windows go and disable bitlocker Then enter bios and disable fast boot and secure boot and your good to go That’s how I manage to install it

@@DoomGamer2163 not double, i think may be 100$ or 200$ extra, also u get egpu opition with faster ram which actually gives 20% boost to fps main befint battery double. rog ally only last 1 hour max in AAA tittle. rog ally will be outdated in 2 years but i think ally x can last for atleast 4 years with usb typec egpu support and faster more ram. p.s 16gb ram is not enough for most of the game, when i choose 6gb for gpu, u get heavy fps dives. if i were u, i would save few bucks and get rog x 100%
@@neilseeth The open box extreme is $400 and battery wouldn't be an issue for me if I use the system plugged in, plus for extra performance, I can always use my LLS app. 16gb is still definitely plenty for the games I play at least, for the $800 that the Rog Ally X costs, I can also get more storage which is more important for my use case. At Best Buy there's a 4tb SSD for $255, and I only need a $7 adapter that can be bought off amazon, if I went with the Rog Ally X instead of the non-X, it will set me back $1055, while the non-X with the upgraded storage will cost me $655

you can install epic games and game-pass on it but it takes a little work.

If the Game is Proton Certified, the pirate copy will work. Sometimes even better then the Protected Game... but GOG is the way my boy.
