I don't understand why anyone would quit watching your channel just because you're no longer on a boat. There's so much more than just the boat. It was a lovely boat, don't get me wrong, but you two perfect madmen have become so much more than the path you got to this point traversing. Your adventures on Silver Fox was my introduction to canal boating as a way of life. I've discovered all the lovely people who vlog about that life, and am greatly envious that it's something I can't have over here in the US. Oh, I could buy a houseboat and live on a lake, or have a boat that could cruse up and down rivers, or even just some little boat that I could take on a trailer all over to go fishing. But the British canal system is something I can't experience here. In a way, I feel cheated, but in another way I'm so glad I can experience everything vicariously through yours' and everyone else's vlogs. If it weren't for you two, I'd never have known about any of this. I've been subscribed and been a patreon for so long now I can't imagine not ever being here for whatever you both want to share. We had a small number of boaters who enjoyed criticising anything we did that they thought we should do differently, hence it was great when they left because they accounted for most of the trolling comments. x
Thank you. I never even thought about not following you when you left Silver Fox. I guess I had taken an interest in you and your lives. I still look forward to your posts every week. ❤

What a varied and interesting life you have led as a couple. Thank you for sharing so much with us Hope you continue to to enjoy the peace , tranquility and beauty of where you are now for many years to come ❤
I got acquainted with you two by the algorithm, then “got to know you,” and, now, I like staying in touch with what you all are up to. It has been fun, touching, sometimes exciting and always enjoyable. Thank you to you both.
I enjoy both of you for you. Boating, bee farming it doesn't matter to me I will watch and enjoy. As a person that has had mental health issues you two being open and so honest has helped me. Thank you and I will follow you two for the enjoyment and the tears you bring me. Tears of happiness!
I was following Martin Zero when, in one of his videos, he visited you and narrowboat Silverfox. That's how I found out about you. I thought you were two cool guys and started watching your videos from the very first one and I was sold. As you say, it is not so much what the video is about as it is listening to you. I was a bit disappointed at first when you left Silverfox, but it would not stop me from continuing watching your videos. I could never write anything bad about you or your projects, because everything you do is interesting and funny to watch. Keep up the great works guys!!!
I would watch the two of you read the ingredients off the back of a shampoo bottle, you are both so charmingly funny. Loved you on your boat, love you both off the boat as well. Keep doing what you love as long as you love it and I will keep watching. ❤
Love the chicken 😁😁 and the sharing. I started following narrow boat vlogs during Covid. The peaceful viewing got me through sane. Your right about the music. The scenery is spectacular. The journeys were fun and introduced me to people and places I will never see but feel like I am acquainted. Water or land you two are the best 😘
I first started watching you guys because I was fascinated by the canals and the narrow boats. We don’t have anything like that here in the USA. But then I fell in love with the 2 of you. I love the way you share things, the canals, the scenery on the canals, and now Scotland. It is such a treat each week to see what’s new around the Croft, the chickens, the bees, the marmalade,Sherlock. It is the 2 of you that I watch you every week. Thank you for being there. 🥰
Wow. You have both done so many things. Love to hear all about it. Also love to see all the different things you are doing now. You are both very talented.
Your trouble is you try too hard to please us! We love watching your antics, your true Northern 'tell it like it is' and your caring for each other and your animals that is so obvious. Your channel is a real ' feel good' channel. It's never boring and it's quite nice to learn things from you both and laugh as it happens! Carry on the great work!
I started watching your channel for the UK narrowboat content; I continued watching because of your repartee and entertainment; I became a fan when I recognized your intelligence, sense of humor, and living with intent. I watch because of you.
From the first blog I watched, I couldn't wait to see more. I loved your travels and all the history you told, .plus you both made me laugh. I was actually sad when you left Silver Fox because I thought it was the end, and it was like saying goodbye to friends . Life is a book with all the different chapters and I can't wait to see it. X
Love you Lads no matter where you are. It's all about your personalities and relationship. I said once before, you are the best friends we've never met. Will always watch your adventures. Thanks for having the bollocks to share your life together. ❤
It’s not just luck or coincidence that has made you successful. You work together as a team, you support each other, and you have the courage to take risks when moving onto a new aspect of your life. It has truly been a pleasure to watch you through, the longboat journey and onto the Croft. It is so impressive that you knew nothing about bees and wound up becoming an expert in a short period of time. I do not post things on social media, so I have never been subjected to trolls and I cannot imagine how that must feel. But then I look at the number of followers you have and the comments I see written on your postings, surely you must realize that there were thousands looking forward to seeing your next posting. I have never seen you post anything that was unkind or untrue. I hope you continue to move forward living your lives exactly the way you want to. Very few people actually do that.
❤ what I love about you too is your honesty compassion and your love for adventure living in the moment I believe is your message and I totally agree lots of love XX
So many memories. You two have become part of my life, l have learned so much, enjoyed so much, and cried through Colin's bad times, and Shaun's. There is so much c**p on yt, you two are a shining example of 'real'! We can't have you in our lives for real, but are so glad you are there. l wish you all the luck and love in the world for the future. xx
I never had any problem adjusting that you changed your channel's name to Foxes Afloat. When you were on the Canals, your boat was the Silver Fox. Now, you both are getting silver hair, so it is fitting you both have become our Silver Foxes.☺️
Hello Colin and Shaun, I must admit that, since moving onboard my boat permanently, nearly a year ago, I stopped watching a fair few NB channels, and only now and after upgrading my home to be more adept at being able to go off grid, along with redecorating and waiting for a full professional repaint, I’m very excited to be finally leaving Swanley Bridge Marina and heading south in my David Lynch themed NB Lost Highway heading towards Market Harborough in July. You two were always such a huge inspiration to me having first found your channel at the beginning of 2020 and it goes without saying I loved meeting you both in person at Crick. Keep on keeping on chaps. One life, and always inspired by seeing you both live it to the full.
Another video where I wish I could have hit 'like' many times... from a long-term viewer who watches you both for your own take on life, canal or Highlands... thank you both once again, G xx
Love watching you, both on silver fox and now the highlands. You are both so genuine and real, nothing false. I loved the canals, and especially the highlands. Having lived in the highlands, inverness, Aberdeen, the Orkneys, and holidays in Bonar Bridge, it brings back a lot of memories. I’ve lived from the borders to the Orkneys, now living in Northern Ireland. But my heart is in the highlands. Enjoy life, keep doing what you are doing, live in the moment. Every blessing for the coming days. Love you both loads, xxx
I have watched other narrow boaters and been ultimately bored. But you two were just fun to watch and be with. Love what you are doing now and hope that the train barn comes together. Just the thoughts of a little old lady in Michigan, USA.
Just wanted to say this particular vlog. For some reason, I have enjoyed the candor and the relaxing talk. Just needed a coffee or tea, and it would have been like sitting outside and having a chat. So, thank y'all, stay safe, and God bless.
I love hearing the backstories. Like many followers, I stumbled onto your channel via the early to mid-period years on the canals. Like sharing family lore, it’s good to have the memories filled in. Try not to overthink content. Just keep trying different things and let the chips fall where they may. Thanks, guys.
Thanks gentlemen for 5 years of sharing your lives with us. I initially watched due to the boating on canals, but stayed for the honesty and sharing of your lives with us.
Thanks for the videos lads. Many of us long term subscribers come to see you two halfwits making us smile, on the water or on the crofts doesn't matter. Carry on. Kind regards to you both, 😄Greg and Jenny, New Zealand.
We have been watching your vlogs since the early days and would watch your vlogs wherever you are. You are both so genuine and you honestly share with your viewers most aspects of your lives. Keep on doing what are doing, as you both do it admirably well. Love to you both Della & Dave xx❤
I found your channel in 2020, in the midst of lockdown, went back and watched all your vlogs and thoroughly enjoy all your work and that which you share with us. I love to see what each week brings. I enjoyed the 'history' style of your canal vlogs and I still watch, because, well, I like you. You're both genuine and funny and an example of positive perseverance, Thank-you. The world needs more like you.
Aww really enjoyed that 😊 Shaun was so right about the music in your vlogs - I loved the music when you were on the Mersey - the timing with the music and your journey was incredible. I was sad when you left Silver Fox, but there was no way I would stop watching you guys. I love seeing your Croft and learning about the bees, chickens and Sherlock. I’m so glad you still vlog 😊❤
Since the day your channel randomly popped up on my screen. I have learned so much about narrow boats. For the first time I got to know a gay couple. I found someone who discussed mental health issues in a way no one has ever done. The uploads of your new chapter in life are just amazing I mean ffs I went out and bought a bag of lemons and oranges to try making marmalade now!! Gentleman I am confident I am not alone in saying you are an amazing couple and sharing your life with us really is sincerely appreciated!!!!
I've been watching you guys for 4 or 5 years and you have always made me laugh. I really enjoy your narrow boat travel and now I really enjoy the high land videos. My mother was born in Glasgow and her father was a Scottish Rifle serviceman in WW1. Thank you for great videos and for making me laugh.
Congratulations on the anniversary. Time does fly. I have been watching you from the start and it does not seem to be that amount of time that has past. An interesting and varied vlog as usual. Keep well and safe. James.
I think I have said this before, but I watch the channel because of you two. It is your personalities, and interaction, and obvious love, that make the channel addictive. The “content” is the frosting on the cake. Two very special people! ❤❤
Guys I watch the channel for both of you guys, you are a lovely couple who share your life stories with us and even my mum watches when she is with me and likes you. She’s fussy about what she watches so take that she likes watching and is interested as a huge compliment. Don’t change who you are for us. Love from Kent South East England
I think you answered your own question about why the channel took off - people watch it for you two. I found you in first lock down, have tried a few other boat vloggers but only ever found one other that I then watched regularly (and I'm not naming them here!). Love the way you are so open and honest yet have fun and giggles! Keep it going.
I guess there were many vlogs that you enjoyed making, but the one that stood out to me was the episode made on the Churnet Valley Railway. The enthusiasm you had was so obvious, like a child in a sweet shop!🚂
Interesting questions and answers! When I first found your channel a few years ago I binged watched all your Vlogs from the start; What particularly appealed was the historical research on all the interesting places you passed, also the dogs Dillon then Otis, and your amusing back and forth. That's why I still follow your story and enjoy seeing the progress every week. Just get on with that Train Barn though! Good luck with everything and take care, from an ex-pat living in Florida
I found your canal five years ago when a friend and I were thinking of renting a canal boat. And what made me continue to follow you are three things: Your personal chemistry, your humor with lots of innuendo and such professional filming with, among other things, drones. My favorite episode is when Colin addressed his mental issues, it was the best thing I've seen on UA-cam! Also, I think Shaun always has nice sweaters, maybe because we're the same age! 😀As always, greetings from Sweden!❤👍
Brilliant, thank you so much for the honesty, entertainment, and excellent advice toward the end. As someone who has collected 3 DNRs (Do not resuscitate notice) in the last 18 months, the future is always TOMORROW and worth waiting and enjoying. Keep up the wonderful entertainment....... TRAAAIN!
We have followed you from the beginning and just had our swan boat built. Your right, it’s you we watch for, just love you guys and would have loved to have met you on the cut, you make people happy, your just great ❤❤❤
I've been with you all of those 5 years - haven't missed a vlog - enjoyed them all. You answered all those questions sincerely and thoughtfully - thank you. Keep on keeping on with whatever you do. Just upset that I miss your lives because being in NZ they are on much too early for me - but you can't please everybody - I do watch them later. Cheers.
You brought back plenty of memories from all the years I've watched you. I remember that episode so well where you were on the Ribble link and nearly got sucked all the way to Preston.
The things that make most people watch You two for is YOU . Always cheer us up and make us laugh . are Both very interesting in what you do and talk about but most of all "crazy". I Love your videos and hope you make them for as long as you can.. Take care of each other and many Thanks for the time you spend making these videos.
I will admit to having been concerned when you left Narrowboat Silver Fox. I had no direction in mind of where you were heading, but soon found that very element....the uncertainty.... to be even more interesting. I can still get my boating life fix from others, but I follow your channel even more since the change of lifestyle! Always interesting, and I've learned a few things along the way as well! Well done, and all the best ahead!
Hi both 👋 The memories we make today are the stories we tell tomorrow and beyond 😊 Not everyone can see that straight away, unless life events or challenges make us see it 🙂Interesting to hear your answers & experiences 😁 Thanks for sharing snippets of your life with us & for speaking so candidly about it. You’re both a breath of fresh air. Em 💜
I have been watching for many years. Boat or not, you two improve my day when watching. I think I started watching just after buying Silver Fox. I look forward to you future posts. 😃
What a wonderful video, Colin I loved the way you answered each question, with such positivity ,and grace. I have watched you since the day you put silver fox in the water. you are both a lovely couple, and i wish you both a wonderful wedding day. kindest regards Qld Australia.
While your narrow boat channel was interesting, I feel your channel now, has a more rounded feel. There is lots of variety as you settle into a new life, you show many facets of living in the highlands and on a croft. I feel we, as viewers of your life, learn a little more about you as presenters and the interesting things you are capable of doing. For instance, being a chef, or a radio presenter, and skills in building and constructing and editing. I enjoy your channel now a bit better than your narrow boat channel. Keep it up !!
That was great, it made me laugh in all the right places and in a few that were seen as typos and tongue twisters, I've followed all the way through, not right from the beginning, but because of been on a couple of narrow boat holidays your channel caught my eye. I've been present ever since. You make me laugh and cry along the way and I hope you will be happy doing what ever tickles your fancy ,take care guys xx till next week 😊
Hi Guys, I've watched your channel from the beginning and I've enjoyed seeing how it has evolved. It never crossed my mind to un-subscribe just because you left Silver Fox. Since coming off the boat and settling into the croft with the animals, you both seem more relaxed with time to enjoy life. Your video's are just as entertaining and I look forward to getting the notifications of new ones xx
Thank you for answering the questions. I enjoy your vlogs and look forward to them. I always get a giggle. And believe me we all need giggles! Thanks again.❤
Never a victim. Good on you. Absolutely. You explained that so well. I'm so amazed in a good way, in your explanation. And this is why I have watch you both for the last 5 years.

I subscribe because of you fellows and content you generate. Once I found the Silver Fox vlogs, I went back and binge watched episodes from the beginning until I was caught up to date, and have been watching since.

I just watched your video where you answered questions. The scariest moment was when someone came aboard Silver Fox in the middle of the night and tried to steal your stuff. The “chase” was both scary and hilarious. The most informative video was when Colin walked along a beautiful trail and was able to describe what happens when even a “high functioning” person with autism begins to feel overwhelmed and out of control. I wish I had seen that when you first recorded it. My late husband had Asperger’s, but he was never able to articulate how he felt or why he did certain things. After he died, I watched your video and then I could understand him. That video should be viewed every time a diagnosis of autism is made; it would help the family to cope better. Thank you for sharing such a personal message. (Ellen from Texas)

So kind. Thank you! x
I would watch the two of you read the ingredients off the back of a shampoo bottle, you are both so charmingly funny. Loved you on your boat, love you both off the boat as well. Keep doing what you love as long as you love it and I will keep watching. ❤
Oh thank you!
You guys are inspirational - I’m now learning beekeeping and hope to have up and running soon x
That’s amazing! Good luck with them 👍🏻🐝
Nice vlog 😊 Relaxed, happy and plenty of good questions and answers, with a bit of sunshine and scenery thrown in. What more can we ask for 😊
Chocolate. I’d ask for chocolate 🍫 😋
@@FoxesAfloat 😁
@@FoxesAfloatheya col, heya shaun been following from the start and used ig you
Met Holly the Cafe Boat today, what a lovely and helpful lady. We told her you were singing her praises. Xx
Wonderful!
Your vlogs were always about the rapport between you two, the boat was just the icing on the Cake
Thank you so much ☺️
Love the chicken 😁😁 and the sharing. I started following narrow boat vlogs during Covid. The peaceful viewing got me through sane. Your right about the music. The scenery is spectacular. The journeys were fun and introduced me to people and places I will never see but feel like I am acquainted. Water or land you two are the best 😘
Aw, thank you so much! ☺️
Our pleasure!
Wow. You have both done so many things. Love to hear all about it. Also love to see all the different things you are doing now. You are both very talented.
Aw, cheers Sarah 👍🏻🙏🏻
Your trouble is you try too hard to please us! We love watching your antics, your true Northern 'tell it like it is' and your caring for each other and your animals that is so obvious. Your channel is a real ' feel good' channel. It's never boring and it's quite nice to learn things from you both and laugh as it happens!
Carry on the great work!
I don’t think there’s ever a problem in trying too hard ☺️
No, bad choice of words on my part, sorry.
Love you guys, you are both so genuine. 🥰
Aww, thank you! 🙏🏻
Perfect flog. Loved some of your memories on canal life. Thank you for sharing.❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I started watching your channel for the UK narrowboat content; I continued watching because of your repartee and entertainment; I became a fan when I recognized your intelligence, sense of humor, and living with intent. I watch because of you.
That’s amazingly kind. Thank you. 🙏🏻
You too are amazing and lovely, thanks for cheering me up xxxx
You are so welcome
Love you Lads no matter where you are. It's all about your personalities and relationship. I said once before, you are the best friends we've never met. Will always watch your adventures. Thanks for having the bollocks to share your life together. ❤
Thank you so much Miriam x
Thank you Carol. That’s so very kind. x
❤ what I love about you too is your honesty compassion and your love for adventure living in the moment I believe is your message and I totally agree lots of love XX
Thank you so much!
I think you guys are great. I’ve watched you from the beginning and only gotten better over time.
Thank you! 🙏🏻
So many memories. You two have become part of my life, l have learned so much, enjoyed so much, and cried through Colin's bad times, and Shaun's. There is so much c**p on yt, you two are a shining example of 'real'! We can't have you in our lives for real, but are so glad you are there. l wish you all the luck and love in the world for the future. xx
Thank you so much, Evelyn. It’s always lovely to see your comments each week 👍🏻🤩
Awesome 🤩
Another video where I wish I could have hit 'like' many times... from a long-term viewer who watches you both for your own take on life, canal or Highlands... thank you both once again, G xx
Wow, thank you!
We keep looking at property on the Orkneys x
I have watched other narrow boaters and been ultimately bored. But you two were just fun to watch and be with. Love what you are doing now and hope that the train barn comes together. Just the thoughts of a little old lady in Michigan, USA.
Thank you Stephanie! x
Just wanted to say this particular vlog. For some reason, I have enjoyed the candor and the relaxing talk. Just needed a coffee or tea, and it would have been like sitting outside and having a chat. So, thank y'all, stay safe, and God bless.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You are soooooo welcome 🙏🏻
Thanks for the videos lads. Many of us long term subscribers come to see you two halfwits making us smile, on the water or on the crofts doesn't matter. Carry on.
Kind regards to you both, 😄Greg and Jenny, New Zealand.
Our pleasure! Thanks guys! x
I love how confident Shaun has become in front of the camera.
I did enjoy the boat and the canals but I still enjoy the content now and still enjoy watching each week
We have been watching your vlogs since the early days and would watch your vlogs wherever you are. You are both so genuine and you honestly share with your viewers most aspects of your lives. Keep on doing what are doing, as you both do it admirably well. Love to you both Della & Dave xx❤
Thank you so much 😊
I found your channel in 2020, in the midst of lockdown, went back and watched all your vlogs and thoroughly enjoy all your work and that which you share with us. I love to see what each week brings. I enjoyed the 'history' style of your canal vlogs and I still watch, because, well, I like you. You're both genuine and funny and an example of positive perseverance, Thank-you. The world needs more like you.
Wow, thank you!
Thanks so much! 😊
Hooray! Friday morning with the lads. Thanks for just being there.
Any time!
Thank you so much! x
It’s always our pleasure Steve x
Congratulations on the anniversary. Time does fly. I have been watching you from the start and it does not seem to be that amount of time that has past. An interesting and varied vlog as usual. Keep well and safe. James.
Thank you so much! Time has flown! x
I think I have said this before, but I watch the channel because of you two. It is your personalities, and interaction, and obvious love, that make the channel addictive. The “content” is the frosting on the cake. Two very special people! ❤❤
Wow, thank you!
As long as the video stars Colin and Shaun, I will remain subscribed and enjoy every minute. Love you both ❤❤
Aww, thank you! 🤩
I guess there were many vlogs that you enjoyed making, but the one that stood out to me was the episode made on the Churnet Valley Railway. The enthusiasm you had was so obvious, like a child in a sweet shop!🚂
Haha! Yeah, that was fun 🤩
Traaaiiinnnn!
Thankyou so much for the last 5 yrs, still can't believe I've been watching you for so long. Keep up the good work boys, love you 😍
Our pleasure!
Thank you! x
I love the outtakes and you cant say that makes me laugh
Brilliant, thank you so much for the honesty, entertainment, and excellent advice toward the end. As someone who has collected 3 DNRs (Do not resuscitate notice) in the last 18 months, the future is always TOMORROW and worth waiting and enjoying.
Keep up the wonderful entertainment....... TRAAAIN!
Glad you enjoyed it! I hope you don’t need those notices! 😧
We have followed you from the beginning and just had our swan boat built. Your right, it’s you we watch for, just love you guys and would have loved to have met you on the cut, you make people happy, your just great ❤❤❤
Congratulations on your new boat! x
Cheers.
Wow, thank you!
I Love your videos and hope you make them for as long
as you can.. Take care of each other and many Thanks for the time you spend making these videos.
It’s our pleasure, and THANK YOU! 🙏🏻
Thank you! 🤩
Em 💜
Aww, thank you Em! x
I have been watching for many years. Boat or not, you two improve my day when watching. I think I started watching just after buying Silver Fox. I look forward to you future posts. 😃
Wow, thank you!
What a wonderful video,
Colin I loved the way you answered each question,
with such positivity ,and grace.
I have watched you since the day you put silver fox in the water.
you are both a lovely couple, and i wish you both a wonderful wedding day.
kindest regards Qld Australia.
Wonderful! Thanks Lynda x
Brilliant observation and very kind. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
I stayed after the boat, because you guys are cool.
Thank you, Michael! 👍🏻
Thank you for answering the questions. I enjoy your vlogs and look forward to them. I always get a giggle. And believe me we all need giggles! Thanks again.❤
You are so welcome!
Never a victim. Good on you. Absolutely. You explained that so well. I'm so amazed in a good way, in your explanation. And this is why I have watch you both for the last 5 years.
Thank you so much Brenda! 👍🏻
Life is so short, it's best if people don't feel the urge to be mean and nasty. Whatever you guys do whether be boatt or croft it's a joy to watch. Please try to ignore the trolls
But they give us so much humour! 😂
Hello from New Mills - I did walk past Silver Fox during that winter. Still enjoying your vlogs from Scotland.
Fantastic! Thank you 🙏🏻
"I just film what I want to." That's perfect.
Awesome 🤩 thanks 🙏🏻
I remember the day you launched canal boat Silver Fox like it was yesterday, love you boys, take care 🤗💞
Us too!
Personalities, personalities lads is the reason i watch you.....great guys..
Thanks John x
I subscribe because of you fellows and content you generate. Once I found the Silver Fox vlogs, I went back and binge watched episodes from the beginning until I was caught up to date, and have been watching since.
Amazing! 🤩 Thank you so much!
Really enjoyed that. Some great questions and answers. Informative, amusing and funny. Keep safe and well.
Thanks, you too!
The Misses and I have been faithful subcribers Oh since 2019 or so. Always with you and the interation you have with your follows make us feel as part of your adventures and welcome to be there wwith you. Keep bring the VLOGS we love you guys stay safe Love ya Rob and Dar.
Cheers guys 👍🏻❤️
