Hi guys, we are back on the canals in the UK and meeting up with friends. You guys always come up in our conversations and we all agree that none of us are able to say train any more without elongating it to trraaiiinnnn. Some of us have also added the complexity of calling it out for the entire time we see the train. The asthmatics amongst us struggle a little though. Great to see you enjoying your new life style!

Great take on the "geographic cure," your repeated mentions of mental health, Colin, have helped me a great deal. They have led me to be more accepting of "what is" and less critical of myself, changing what I can and letting go of the rest. So here's a big thank you with me sending love to you both!! I am one of those people who haven't checked in with you guys in a year or so, and I genuinely didn't know you'd sold the boat. I can completely understand why, as I really don't see that as a sustainable lifestyle long term, and I genuinely hope you're happy there in Scotland. Really great answer on the Mental health issue. It is absolutely beautiful where you are and I would imagine life might have slowed down a bit since you've made the move. My husband and I are absolutely dying to come over there and see all the beauty and the history you have that we don't here in the US. It's been a while since we've had time to watch your channel. We have been fixing our van to travel around here and see what we haven't had the time to see. We have 900 watts of solar! A bit overkill, but we've had a very hot summer and want to make sure we can run the air conditioner and the fridge. I love that you're raising bees! They are in need of help and the honey is the BEST! Much love to you both and Otis, and all the animals you've got!

That’s why I gave the choice of a new channel or shorts on this channel. Doing it this way it’s accessible to the viewers who want to see more of the bees but it’s not intrusive to those who don’t, and who prefer the regular Friday vlogs.
Shorts on this channel sounds best. They would be happy little surprises popping up whenever.

You seem to be enjoying J-E-E-E-E-P. Why would it matter what you choose for yourself? 🤔
I suggest you add the bee 🐝 segments to this channel. If the viewers are not interested in details of bee keeping, then they don't have to watch it. It seems like a lot of trouble to put up another channel to show more of your homesteading journey. IMHO it is all in the same chapter of this story.

Another great vlog and I love 'Jeep' - a sturdy workhorse and more suited to the terrain. Your comments about mental health are spot on and I'm glad you are coping better. Good to see Otis is making the most of Highland living and if you decide to do any shorts, do what works best for you. I'd love to see more about the bees - fascinating insects!

I do not like recent inundation from my various subscriptions with the UA-cam shorts. I don't see any reason to have a separate channel for the bees. Keep it simple and stick to one weekly post.

NO portrait video PLEASE. TikTok etc. are for people with no attention span or understanding of video making. Your quality content would be wasted in that disposable nonsense.
The additional content will be Shorts. You don't have to watch them if you hate them that much. They won't detract from our regular content. This is additional content for people who hate long videos and love Shorts. Another example of us not being able to please everybody despite trying to! x

When Otis grows opposable thumbs, he'll be able to start his own channel. That's what I tell my Bella, she's an adorable springer spaniel with a fascination on reflected spots of light. Hey guys! Been watching you for years. Love your stuff. I had chickens for years and one time gnats (midges) and they killed my chickens when they filled their nostrils while roosting. Only had it happen once but a small fan can help keep the air moving in their roost to prevent it. Keep posting it’s a highlight of my Friday’s.

I'm not usually a fan of the shorts because I cannot watch them on my Roku/TV... but I WOULD watch yours on my phone. I think UA-cam tends to promote those shorts quite a lot as well, so it may be a good thing for your channel. (Though, to be perfectly honest, my selfish preference would be "normal" videos... but either way, I'm here for the long haul as most of us are)

I was around 50 years old when I realized that my ADD was a blessing. I started seeing the "normal people" as children and started addressing them as such, nice and slow. It works very well!😉 Thanks for another great episode and greetings from Sweden!❤👍
