Thank you for helping to make my project happen. I've watched each video over and over and then attempted it. My deck is beautiful. You enabled me to make cuts that I would have hated to do alone. My zippers are looking good as well. Can a cushion be made without the cording? Will the cushions hold up as well? Thank you again for all your videos and making them understandable. God bless.

Wow, I've made two very simple types of pillow covers just by measuring the pillow form and going for it. These projects took me forever... I do however, incorporate my paintings, and my hand dyed fabrics. You made this so simple for me, I hope! God bless you sweetie!! I don't have any cording so I'll buy some and get started on this project soon! Thank you so much! Janet

I watched your video many times and used your technique to make chair cushions. I have been sewing for decades, but never upholstered. This technique worked very well and the best part was that any small errors ended up at the backs of the cushions. I made the zipper "turn the corners," that is, a little larger than the width of the cushions for ease of on and off. Thanks so much for your generosity in making the video.

Oh my goodness, I m so happy I came across your video of the boxed cushion. Seems I have done too much, work for nothing. I learned how to make slip covers about 18 years ago I taught myself from the library books and videos. But you gave me such a revelation of the boxed cushion. Since I really didn’t know how to do piping between all the layers, so I would pin the cut the fabric and sew the piping cord onto the face and the same with the closing of the cords! Thanks so much for making it easier for me and all the sewing lovers out there. I’ll be back.

I tried to do the email list but the text sent a message back to me saying oops the keyword wasn't recognized or your session has timed out. Please check your keyword and try again. I don't have a keyword that I know of. I think I have subscribed, there is a check mark on the subscribed box. I am planning on maybe trying to reupholster my couch and love seat. I want to upholster it in leather or some fabric that is easy to clean, because I have pets.

I just bought a dining room set that has wood chairs, They are very hard to sit on and I decided to make some cushions for it. I wanted to pipes the edges also. My mother was a great sewer and taught tailoring and pattern drafting. So I learned a lot from her, but she died young and I have discovered You Tube. I am so grateful that you are on here, as I have not sewn uphostery fabric...I've mostly sewn apparel and quilts. I thought your video was the best. I taught me how to mark the corners to match the bottom, how the best way to sew the zipper panel in, how to match up and finish the cording...What a fabulous lesson! Thank you so much! I don't think you missed anything. It was very clear to me.

I watched with a critical eye, Kim, and I couldn't find anything wrong with this video. You gave pertinent information with your usual skill. The camera work was good. The sound quality was a bit muted in places, but I understood what you meant. You were wearing a dark color and looked a bit tired, but that wouldn't make someone give a thumb-down. You've had a troll, I suspect, who gets paid by the comment -- why, I can't figure. Don't fret over it. I learned a number of things. Thanks.

Such a great video. So glad you included cording in your demo! And thanks fo fast-forwarding thru the redundent parts. I am recovering my first chair and just got to the cushion part. This will be such a help!

Thank you, thank you. I couldn’t dream of trying to sew a slipcover without you. With a brain injury I have overly challenged myself in this ongoing attempt to slipcover our wing chairs. Oh my! Your step by step guidance has given me confidence that this is possible (though with countless mistakes along the way). You make it look so easy that daily I come back, trying once again and am slowly getting there.
    Again, 🙏

I have repeatedly watched this video and love it. I am amazed how easy you make it look....I hope I have the same luck. I especially like how you mark the edge of the boxing to show exact location of the corner and I love how you join ends of the piping. I used to teach sewing, however, I have never made a slip cover for my couch and that is why I am so interested in watching your videos. Thank you!

I will have to watch this more than once but I made my cording and had pinned it to my sewn together edges before I saw your video. You saved me hours of ripping out. Thank you. I was given a beautiful old chair with ugly yellow Jacobean slipcover. I have more confidence now.

Kim, this is probably the best detailed video I've seen! As a novice, I have been struggling with how to align my top piece of fabric so it matches corners nicely. You showed me the way and I thank you very much.

Thanks so much! I especially loved the joining the cording part. It makes so much sense and I never knew it. I also loved the clipping corners 1/2" before end to make a nice turn. I've always been a feel it kind of sewer - with mainly consistent results. But your tips will really fine tune my work. cheers!

This is a great tutorial. A friend of mine asked if I'd make a cushion for her window seat. I wasn't sure how I was going to turn the corners. Now I know! Thank you so much!

Thank you. Very clear instructions and a beautiful cover. I've watched quite a bunch of youtube upholstery videos to learn enough to reupholster my RV and your video was the best. I'm subscribing to your show to learn how to make my RV look it's best.

Kim, I have not reupholstered anything for year. In my past I have done two couches and numerous cushions. I have a wonderful wicker chair that I have been afraid to approach for a year. Your viedo has given me the confidence to go ahead and take the cushion on.. Thank you do much,
    Anne McKinney
